This traditional fisherman's cottage is located in the village of Flushing near Falmouth in Cornwall and can sleep five people in three bedrooms. Split Cottage is a traditional Cornish fisherman's cottage in the coastal village of Flushing just four miles from Falmouth. The cottage has two double bedrooms, one single room and a family bathroom, making it suitable for five people. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen with a dining area, which is actually housed in the original 18th century washroom, and is accessed by taking a few steps outside from the back door, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is a sma...ll rear courtyard with a patio, outdoor furniture and a chiminea. Featuring original slate floors, exposed beams and a woodburning stove, Split Cottage combines character with modern decor and facilities in a stunning location.

Amenities: Electric storage heaters with woodburner in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, 'projector' TV, DVD. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking. Small rear courtyard garden with patio, seating and chiminea. One well-behaved dog welcome (to be kept in kitchen and courtyard only). Sorry, no smoking. Shop, pub and regular foot ferry to Falmouth 2 mins walk. Note: The kitchen/diner at this property is accessed via a separate, external entrance. Additional tea and coffee making facilities in hallway.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  I booked this cottage as it was reasonably priced and 'dog friendly', however in the details it states that your dog is allowed in kitchen and courtyard only. "not so bad I thought" but the courtyard was very small, dark, damp, dreary and overgrown with plant life, maybe in high summer it would be more cheerful but in October not very welcoming, surrounded by high walls it is not somewhere any one would want to stay long, and that includes our dog!
  The kitchen was well equipped but very separate from the house, it does state this in the details but I can honestly say It took 'the edge' off my holiday because I felt very unhappy leaving our pet dog who is part of the family on her own while we were altogether watching a film of an evening, she is normally always with us. And so I suppose I am writing this so that other dog owners will be aware of the situation more than I was. If a cottage is sold as 'dog friendly' I feel that the dog should be at least allowed to sit with the family of an evening. So I won't be going back or recommending this cottage to dog owners I'm afraid.
  The beds were comfortable and everywhere was clean and tidy, shower was good and hot. Wood burning stove very efficient. Stairs were very steep from bedrooms to bathroom and downstairs, so if anyone is a bit wobbly on their feet it might be a problem.
