DrachtenFantastic - must stay when visiting Yorkshire!
Left on 05/23/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Gerald & Ros are fantastic hosts and the cottage is simply amazing - quintessential proper country cottage with such eye for detail. And I'll let you in on a secret, all the cottages are beautiful! The location is ideally situated for country walks & (car)trips to York, Castle Howard, the Yorkshire Moors NP and more. Visiting the local country pub was an added bonus. We will be back soon!

CamberleyLovely cottage in a fab area
Left on 10/31/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Cloverleaf Cottage is a lovely cottage in a great area which is within reasonable driving distance of a great variety of attractions / places of interest so it was a great base for us to explore a part of Yorkshire that we'd never been to before. The kitchen of the cottage is really well stocked with everything you could need for any sort of cooking (except maybe some cooking oil - we bought a bottle so that we could have bacon sandwiches & ended up leaving an almost full bottle there to avoid the possibility of an oil spill on the journey home!). The duvets & pillows were lovely for us to rest our weary heads on at the end of the day & the decor in the bedrooms is beautiful. The people we spoke to whilst we were there (including the owners) were very friendly. It was also a lovely touch to have a bottle of wine & some York fruits waiting for us when we arrived too and overall our stay in Fangfoss was really enjoyable.
Ideally I would have liked larger towels in the bathrooms because I felt they were a bit small for a 'luxury' cottage (it didn't feel very luxurious stretching the towel round me!) although that is being picky. However, there were a couple of little things which I did find quite annoying - the plates in the kitchen don't really fit in the slimline dishwasher properly & the kitchen sink is impractical to actually wash anything up in as it so shallow (I had to use it to wash my daughter's bottles so it drove me mad every day!). Also the door 'handles' were really annoying - you had to stick your finger through a splintery hole in the wood to open them from one side.
My biggest issue is with the late check-in times - you can't check-in until 4pm on the day of arrival which I think is really late especially as you have to check-out by 10am on the day of departure. We overestimated how long it would take us to get there & arrived at about 3.15pm & we had to go for a walk because the cottage wasn't ready! But overall a great cottage in a lovely area. -

The cottage was really great, very well kitted out and very clean and comfortable. Kids loved the playroom and Jubillee park. Very accessible for York, going to the coast and nice walks from the front door.

Ottawa, CanadaFabulous!

From the moment we drove into the driveway and were met by Ros we knew we had made the right choice. The cottage was perfect with a welcome package of homemade cakes a bottle of wine and the necessary 'things' for a nice pot of tea. Needless to say seeing it is located in Yorkshire the surrounding countryside is lovely we had a great two weeks. Ros and her husband Gerald were so friendly and helpful during our stay and we would just love to return some day soon. Would highly recommend this area and the cottages without a doubt.

PaisleyAn idyllic location, a luxury cottage and a genuine welcome
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This property was faultless, beautiful red brick farm buildings converted and finished to a high standard, with well considered details and flourishes. The front entrance is next to the village green and church while the back of the farm opens onto fields and countryside and a lane that leads to an excellent adventure play park.
However it's the small things that matter: there was fresh milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine and home made fairy cakes on the worktop. That's a proper family welcome.
