Ethel's Escape was a lovely property with plenty of room for our party of 5 adults. The beds were comfortable and the in room baths a little piece of luxury!
The property was very well equipped with everything we needed when cooking and dining in. -

A very good rapport with the owners who had done everything possible to make us feel very welcome and at home in the luxurious cottages. Excellent local pub and park and quick access to York and the beautiful Wolds, and Castle Howard and coast all within easy driving distance.
Most liked features - the quality and location.
Only small problem was getting access to wi fi, which hopefully has been resolved now! -

If you're looking for luxury accommodation, spotlessly clean in a picturesque rural location yet only 20 minutes from York I can't recommend these cottages enough! We were greeted on arrival by the owner and made to feel very welcome. Our group of 15 hired 3 of the cottages and all were equally equipped to a very high standard. Each of the bedrooms had their own unique design features yet were in keeping with a rural theme. All had their own en-suite facilities, with many bedrooms also including a roll top bath! The kitchens had everything we needed and Ethels Escape accommodated us all around the one dining table very comfortably. The owner had gone the extra mile to include on arrival a complimentary bottle of milk in the fridge not to mention wine, biscuits and of course, York fruits in each of the cottages - unexpected but a lovely touch.
Excellent value for money - hope to return again soon!
