The Granary Lodge will be sure to inspire and its atmosphere is the perfect setting for any memorable occasion!
Aside from not receiving the arrival materials and having a hard time reaching people 2 days before, the stay at the granary was absolutely wonderful for our family, the view was spectacular, the rooms and beds were comfy and clean, lives the huge wood table in the kitchen, the 2 decks, the 3 bathrooms! We had such a nice time, thank you, we may book it again for our next family reunion in 2013.
We have a family reunion in this area every year and The Granary was the best place to stay that we've had. Beautiful property on top of a hill. Lots to do for all ages and the game room saved us on a rainy day.
The Granary was perfect. The location was secluded and quiet. The downstairs game room was perfect for hanging out with friends and family. The bunk room was a kid favorite. Upstairs had every amenity you could ask for. Wifi was the only thing that we missed. Although being off the internet for a week was kind of refreshing. I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed.
This was our second year staying at the Granary and once again, it was a great experience! The views of the surrounding countryside are amazing. The location is great. My kids don't want to stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the Granary with 16 other adults and 3 babies. It was awesome. The house was spectacular and we had a blast playing shuffleboard and pool. We took 5 boats and 1 jet ski to Youghiogheny Lake which was beautiful and clean and 78 degree water. We will definitely use ovr any time we go back to this area.

I rented the Granary after looking through several options on line. It looked pretty nice but you never know. Upon arrival though, it was obvious the right choice was made. The other families in our group were very excited and almost immediately through out comments about how they wished we were staying longer and how the space was very well done and a great setting. We had a group of 20 and things went smoothly. I'm not a big fan of the non-refundable bonus cost that would otherwise be known as a security deposit - but in terms of the house and site itself... we loved it and will likely be looking to stay here again since it's close to Ohiopyle and rafting.
The property was beautiful and the house itself was also very impressive. Excellent for entertaining many guests and plenty of room so no one felt cramped. Everything in the house worked well and was in great shape. No complaints here. We would go back any time.

The Granary is a perfect getaway for a family or group. We were working in the area for a week and needed a place for a crew of 5 adults to stay. The house and property were a complete a very good way. The view from the knoll behind the barn is amazing. We dare you to walk up there alone and not end up humming "The hills are alive" from the Sound of Music. Deer, wild turkeys, rabbits and lots of other wildlife that city folk can't recognize by sound alone kept us company. One note: the fish in the pond were so happy to see food, that they jump on the hook and actually followed us as we walked around the edge.
Overall, a very relaxing, easy place to spend a week. It made us feel like we had some work that interrupted a "vacation".
Amazing Property, but Booking was Extremely Frustrating

My husband and I have stayed at many of the OVR properties over the past few years and we have always had a great time. We wanted to return to the Granary for our anniversary because it is by far our favorite place to stay in Ohiopyle. This hasn't changed - the place is gorgeous and unique, as well as being wonderfully private, in a beautiful setting.
Booking was a different story. The price displayed on the website was $395/night on weekends. When I received my paperwork, the price had changed to $425/night. I emailed the OVR rep, who replied and assured me that it was indeed $395/night, and not to worry. Then my card was charged the $425/night rate. When I emailed the rep again, I was asked where I saw the $395/night rate. I responded that I'd seen it ON THE WEBSITE, and I reminded him of our previous email exchange confirming this. I got a reply that said, "The website is wrong. The price is $425/night. What else can I help you with?" This was VERY frustrating, because okay, if the website is wrong, well, that's not my problem - I'll gladly pay the advertised price, but not more, ESPECIALLY not after I was assured that the price was indeed $395/night.
Everything was straightened out eventually, and we did receive a discount for the hassle, but I have to say that it was really frustrating. In the past, we've always dealt with Tricia, who I assume is no longer with OVR. On several occasions, we've been looking for a quick weekend getaway and we've actually booked properties either the same day or only a couple of days in advance, because Tricia was so pleasant and easy to deal with. I don't think we'll be doing that again, because I can't imagine being able to arrange something last minute with the current management style, which is a real bummer.

Generally we had a great experience at the Granary. There were a few issues and we sent the rep. Jordan our concerns via text...she immediately replied to me (was happy with her response time). The inside of the home was beautiful and clean...the decorations made you feel very comfortable and welcome...we enjoyed the game room each evening...our daily adventures at Ohiopyle State park were amazing...beautiful, beautiful...going in April was a nice time because it was quiet...their prime season has not yet begun so some places were getting ready for the summer...not a problem for us....while we would definitely go there again, we wanted to mention what our concerns phone access (in the event our cell phones didn't work),they mentioned house was internet ready and it wasn't...we learned that their computer person was on vacation...they need to always have a backup for this was a big inconvenience for us...we couldn't look up simple things such as stores or what was the history of the farm (we found a milk bottle and would have loved to look up this information) We were disappointed that the pond was not stocked - a maintenance person thought that the pond was never stocked...family was not happy about that. Also winter debris should have been cleaned on the property prior to our arrival. Again, had a great time and we will probably use Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals again : )

We spent most of the weekend trying to avoid the Wasps in the cabin. We had to sleep in the downstairs garage because the upstairs bedroom was infested. The garage that sleeps 10 was around 50 degrees, only heated with space heaters. When we asked for a partial refund, the owner refused and said it was mother nature, even though she admitted she had this problem in the past. RENTER BEWARE!

This was our second stay at this property. The only problem we had was an issue with wasps. Most were close to dead but we did deal with a couple dozen over the weekend. This place is very spacious with excellent accomodations for a large group. The shuffleboard and pool tables are great on-site entertainment. We will definitely considering staying at this property again!

We came from North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Indiana to gather for a Thanksgiving weekend. The place was perfect! It felt like a homestead that we all could call home. The setting is spectacular with an expansive view of the Laurel Highlands. The game room is amazing, too. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to 'getaway' and enjoy some quality family time.
Stayed at the Granary and went rafting with Laurel Highlands on September 28-30th, 2012. Laurel Highland Rafting was only about 15 minutes away from the cabin. The Granary is a beautiful cabin. The shuffle board and pool table are nice for entertaining. For the price we paid I did feel that toilet paper could have been supplied. Also, I hot tub would be another great addition. The old barn next to the property is very interesting and great to photograph. We had to kill about 15 wasps that were coming inside of the cabin; my father is allergic so this was a concern for us. The bunk beds were interesting; I did not have to sleep in that room so I did not mind having them :) Overall it was a good stay. Thank you.
The pictures and description on the website does not do this property justice. Its secluded location and amazing mountain views are the perfect backdrop for this cabin's country charm. We came to Ohiopyle to white water raft. Besides rafting we did not adventure out for anything else because we did not want to leave the property. The amenities were so great we had a blast just hanging out at the cabin. I and everyone in our group would highly recommend the Granary and do plan on visiting again soon.

The Granary was perfect. There were many out of state and out of counry guests which stayed at the Granery. The Wedding Rehearsal Dinner was held there with a BBQ. The Granery is a perfect, relaxing, country setting with immense privacy.... The whole experience was above and beyond. Our guests were from NZ and Austrailia, and the West Indies. All complimented the privacy and country home setting. Thank you so very much !!!!!!

Ohio pyle is in the middle of my family. So my brothers and I all congregated there last week end. From there we saw Kentuck knob and falling water, rode bicycles, and went rafting. The granary was a fine place to stay. we especially liked the shuffleboard and the pool table and the wide views on the top of the hill. The kitchen is under provided, could be better supplied. The bedroom without a window doesn't seem like a bedroom at all, And I really like the double wide garage/bunk room. It's a great place for a weekend but be sure you bring garbage bags and frying pans and cutting boards and knives and that sort of thing.

The house was very nice and clean. The management company seemed easy to work with. The price was a little steep compared to what we are used to, but it was a great place to stay for large family. We have 12 and there was plenty of room.
This was a great facility for our family reunion. We loved it!

We had 12 people for our family reunion in the Laurel Highlands. The Granary was a great place. We especially liked the shuffle board game, the extra long dining table that could seat all of us at once and the 2 refrigerators!
Had an amazing stay. Loved the property and the amazing vista that greeted us when we pulled up the driveway. Enjoyed fishing in the pond, walking the property, rafting, hiking, biking, etc. We will definitely tell our friends about this great vacation home.
This weekend trip was perfect for the bachelor party! The house was close to white water rafting, clay pigeon shooting, and natural water slides. When we weren't enjoying the outdoors (which was most of the time), our time was spent grilling/cooking, playing pool and shuffleboard. Everyone had their own bed to sleep in, which was a plus. The house was bigger and nicer than expected. Although the property does look like the pictures, the pictures don't do it justice. The house is beautiful and renting it was a breeze. We plan on renting this house again for years to come. I highly recommend The Granary.
My family got together from Ohio and NJ here at the Granary to celebrate my father's 85th birthday. There was plenty to do in the house during the rainy days and plenty to do in the area for everyone. We have a wide range of ages & interests, so this was important. The place was beautiful! My brother knew how to work the Direct TV (you had to put it on the HDML-1 (I'm not sure I got those initials right) to make it work). We had a slight problem with one of the appliances (which is why I gave that section a 4) but it was rapidly fixed by the property management. The Granary is secluded, which we were extremely happy with and we loved the firepit for nightly entertainment. People fished and walked the land and took pictures and enjoyed spotting the pheasant coming up the road in the morning. Competitions on the pool table and skittleboard were fierce! And there were enough bathrooms for the family. We hope to make this an annual event to the Granary.
