Flicker Of Hope - QUIET woodsy Swiss Chalet on huge wooded lot. Short walk to the lake. Quick "BACK-DOOR" drive to the slopes via Stanfield cutoff. Three bedroom (one is a LARGE woodsy loft), two baths, 2 wood burning fireplaces, vaulted ceiling, jet tub, expanded basic cable service, TVs including a 32", DVD player, stereo, high-speed internet, and full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, and more.

this place is great for large groups and very romatic for group couples or family and friends there was 9 people and we can fit even more we had to shovle the parking and couldnt tell where it was lol but other that that everything worked fine and the had plates and lots of tools for kitchen and we just loved it . my favorite place was the balcony we had a few beers and enjoyed the view from all angles ur vary close to the lake and walking distance the snow was perfect and we had are private sled area no need to pay extra... oh and in begging the key was hard to find but we found it after all lol there should be a sign for the key and parking lot during the snow...

Before we plan this trip, we never booking Cabins in Big Bear before, so we design to visit Big Bear first, before we invite group of friends, when we arrive big bear cool cabins, the staff was busy, but still very friendly to help us to pick cabins, this cabins was not the one we pick, due to original cabins was have some electricity damage didn't fix on time, so the staff help us to upgrade into Flicker of Hope" after we check in...Wow, this cabins was better then what we expect, a lot of beds and space...everybody was so excited for live in here for 3 days 2 night, thank you for big bear cool cabins, we love it!

The cabin was dirty, spiders nets and insects were all over the cabin, dirty carpet, dirty blankets, the water heater did not work (we had to take super cold showers) and the toilet upstairs and the roof downstairs were leaking. I called the office to solve the problem and they said they could not send anybody to fix the issues. Only when I called the emergency line, somebody was sent by that time was too late since we already had a cold shower. When you pay for something and only stay one day you expect the place to be ready to go and this cabin was not ready to be rented. It has huge maintenance issues that need to be taken care of before listing the cabin for rent.

Per phone and maintenance records you did call our after hrs emergency # and report the issues with the hot water. Housekeeping has been sent to the home to address the issues noted in regards to cleanliness. The cabin is cozy and quaint. I like the old-timey decor and the couches are super comfortable. We had a great time sitting arond the big table. My only complaints are that the cabin was a bit low on toilet paper, there weren't any wine glasses, and we had to remove the trash even though we paid a cleaning fee.

This cabin is located in a great, very quiet neighborhood and is easy to find. It's a very comfortable and pretty cabin with a fully equipped kitchen. The layout is nice and the kids loved the loft.
A great place to come "home" to after a long day of skiing. -

We really liked staying at this cabin. It's well decorated, clean, warm, kinda old feeling, has a fantastic view, and comes with two fireplaces. Short walk to the lake. Overall our trip was great!

I really enjoyed staying at this location. It's well decorated, has a fantastic view, and comes with two fireplaces. I will say, though, the lack of a door to the master bedroom (the entire downstairs) is a bit off-putting at first. The jet tub is in this area, not cordoned off in any way, so a friend or family member can "accidentally" come downstairs and see you in your all together.
Big Bear Cool Cabins took excellent care of me during my stay. Any issues I had, such as a missing remote control, were quickly taken care of. I can heartily recommend this cabin, and Big Bear Cool Cabins. -

Over all the cabin was ok, my only complaints were how dirty it was. I found cob webs everywhere and when I sat on the couch there were coffee and other drink drippings all down the arm...also the dinning table had crunchy stuff stuck to it, so gross! at around 5:00 we get a knock on the door and its the house cleaners...now we know whys it dirty. If this was my cabin and I had this rental agency working for me I would rethink using them if this how they take care of my cabin.

the bed sheets were not changed in any of the beds, I am very sure about this because there were hairs on the pillow shams & I found dirty socks in between the sheets in two of the beds. Gross!!! It was a beautiful cabin but they have bad housekeeping. "I dont know if there is anything that can make me change my mind about staying there again" maybe it was just that cabin, "who knows"

Pro: cozy cabin, internet connection, jet tub, good location, accommodation: 8 (max), nice mountain view w/ a peek a boo lake view. The bottom floor lies the master bedroom with jet tub, bathroom, and washer dyer. The 2nd floor is the receiving area, kitchen and dining, and a room with queen bed and separate bathroom. The attic is so cute with 3 twin beds, although the other bed is smaller. It has a tiny balcony. All floors have a balcony.
con: pots & pans, toaster oven need to be replaced. It will be a plus to have a bigger coffee cups. Cabinets, door and window panes need to be cleaned well as cob webbs and dead insects were present (tried to peek at one of the windows and cobwebbs stick to my hair). There's a coffee maker and coffee creamer but without coffee. Doesn't bother me bec. I brought my own coffee. No facial tissues. We checked-in late so I can't review the front desk. No need to go to all Protection alarm if you know your lock box code and unit address. You have to pay $10 just for the direction and the code. If you know that you will be coming late, call the front desk right away and get the information bec. your cellphone might not have a good signal right there on the mountains.

The cabin that we stayed at (Flicker of Hope) was awesome. Four adults and 5 kids - all less than ten and they had a great time sledding down the hill. There was enough snow that we were able to build an igloo at the bottom of the hill. The deck had two feet of slow when we arrive but was shoveled off by a Big Bear Cool Cabin guy. Amazing three day weekend. Check in was as easy as can be. Highly recommended. The cabin was a home away from home. Could it have been a better weekend, maybe a hot tub...
