      Cute & Cozy!

Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in December 2011

We had a wonderful time staying at Quail Cove #2! The management was very friendly and accommodating. The view was splendid, and the cabin had all the essentials. You are only a quick drive to many Big Bear Lake activities, which makes the stay that much better.

Finally, I have to comment on the noise levels at night; or lack of! It was extremely quiet and peaceful, which was exactly what we were looking for.

      We will definitely book again!

      Romantic Lakeside Cabin

Left on 10/19/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I surprised my wife for our two year anniversary by renting Quail Cove cabin #2. The cabin is located on the shore of Grout Creek which feeds into Big Bear Lake. Very nice view of the lake from the cabin. You have your own sitting area on the shore and your own outdoor grill for cooking. Plenty of great hiking in walking distance (Grays Peak.) Incredibly quiet and peaceful. There is a fireplace in the cabin and you can buy firewood on the premises. We had a wood fire every night. Also pet friendly so we were able to enjoy the weekend with our dog. Very good dining in walking distance (North Shore Cafe.) The owners of Quail Cove, Grace and Craig, are incredibly friendly and very accommodating. We did not want to leave!

      Cool Cabins were not!!! cool

Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010

Kept us waiting more than 30 min outside in freezing cold with 2 infants (9:00pm) for keys. Heater did not work. Pilot backfired in my face and singed hair off my arm, child became hysterical from pop. Once re-lit thermostat never came on, no heat all night. King bed was a double, we all 4 slept in it to keep children from freezing. No curtains on window, shabby overall.

Great place, but terrible service from Cool Cabins

Left on 01/01/2011 for a stay in December 2010

The cabin was fine, but the treatment we received from the rental agent, Cool Cabins, was really bad. First day was a rain storm - nothing to do but sit in the cabin. With two young boys bouncing off the walls, hoping for the snow we drove up there for, TV was a fairly important part of making the best of a bad situation. The TV remote control didn't work - had batteries, seemed to just be a matter of programming it (TV was on a shelf clear across the cabin from the bed - no couch so we were all on the bed). When I called Cool Cabins about it they told me, in so many words, that it was an insignificant problem. I paraphrase, but I was told something like "we're busy fixing broken pipes and windows." Later they called and said they'd have someone over that evening to fix it. Then an hour or so later they called to say it would be the next morning. I was hoping someone could give me instructions over the phone. As I pressed, I was told that they did not advertise the fact that the Tv's came with remote controls. The Cool Cabins representative got very beligerent, and I was told that when she went on vacation, she did not go there to watch TV (totally missing my point about being sequestered to the cabin with two young boys due to the rain storm). The next day a person arrived, but was unable to fix the remote (programming instructions were for a different TV). They said thay would return but never did. We asked for clean towels for the second day of our stay. They said they would send them but never did. We moved to another cabin, similar in price but closer to the sledding/skiing areas, that was serviced by the owner. We won't make the same mistake of going through Cool Cabins again.
