Less than a half-block from the beach, this property is a real gem. The ground level has a one-bedroom apartment; upstairs there's a five-bedroom house. If you'd like, you can rent both sections as a six-bedroom home with six full bathrooms and a half bath.
Up to 12 of you can stay here, taking advantage of the central air, gas grill, and five parking spaces. Turn on the stereo/radio, and have a dance party one night. Prepare some snacks for everyone in the fully furnished kitchen. Once you're all tired out, you can watch television on one of the eight TVs.

This is the perfect place for a great family vacation. Five houses from the beautiful Fenwick beach, every amenity that you could want, spacious rooms, lovely furnishings...this house has it all. They even provide full size bars of soap! Ideal location on the same street at Nantucket (a wonderful, higher end restaurant/bar), a couple of short blocks to pizza, shopping, mini golf, Fisher's popcorn, etc. We will definitely visit here again.

Because this is such a large house, I assume it is mostly used by families. Therefore, I think other renters would agree that fewer queen beds and more twin beds would make it far more comfortable. Having young siblings share a bed is not ideal for anyone.

We loved this house. The layout was perfect. We especially enjoyed the two living rooms on the main floor. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach. The only thing that I would recommend is that they get a new washer and dryer. It wasn't very efficient. I would definitely rent this home again.

This was our 8th year my family (kids, spouse, aunts, uncles, cousins) have been going to Fenwick Island and staying at the 7 South Carolina avenue beach house. In fact, my brother and his family rent the home next door at the same time so we truly have a "family" vacation. The home is kept immaculately clean and we couldn't ask for anything more in a beach rental. The house itself is only a few homes from the beach and the area is quiet, clean, family oriented, friendly and safe. We love the area, the vacation rental home and the people at Wilgus who make our check-in and out effortless. We will see you next august!

We've been to this house many, many times, and it's always terrific. The kitchen is not great, and we'd rather have more single beds, but overall it's perfect.
The beach replenishment this year was a real downer -- it was noisy, messy and disrupted our enjoyment immensely. But we have been assured that, given the economy, it will never happen again! -

Very clean and spacious. Very short and easy walk to a nice beach.
I'm used to having condiments in the refrigerator and seasonings in the cupboard when I get to a beach rental, so didn't bring any from home and had to go shopping right away. Also didn't realize that the kitchen was on the 3rd floor (!) and the grill on the ground. Putting a grill on the 3rd floor balcony would be helpful. But my only real complaint is that I called with 2 maintenance issues the 2nd day there, and no one called back or came to fix them.Response from Wilgus Associates - 08/03/2011

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Grilling is not authorized on the decks for safety reasone (sorry). As far as maintenance, calls were transferred to the owner who did personally go to the home and fix the problem...was there something specific that I can follow up on????

We have stayed in this house each summer for at least eight years. It is almost perfect. We love the location, the beach, the amenities within walking distance, etc.
If we could improve anything, it would be replacing one queen bed with another set of twin beds for grandchildren. We would like a mid-stay cleaning or a discount for staying two weeks. It would be nice to have a can opener, a mixer and a better clothes dryer. But overall, it is a great place to stay. -

It was great being so close to the beach the decks were a great feature to get away from others to relax and read. It was great to be in walking distance to shops and activities for the kids. All in all a great time.

Loved it!!! Our family has stayed at both twin properties located at 6 and 7 South Carolina avenue in Fenwick Island, Delaware for the last few years. Either place will provide a large or extended family an enjoyable week at the beach! The cottages are very comfortably furnished, well-maintained, and are located just steps from the beach. Each bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom, and there is an extra half-bath in the main living area. Lots of decks; some with ocean views. We plan to stay there again next year.

I cannot believe that this place (and its sister location next door) are not booked for the whole summer. The place is immaculate/ Having been to the Outer Banks twice, I can tell you those folks down south could use some cleaning lessons from the Lobos, especially when you see last year's dirt. We have several grandchildren, ranging from 12 years old to 7 months old. The shops that are close by help entertain the older ones and pushing the baby in a stroller helped put her to sleep. And, of course, Royal Farms is there for milk, bread and whatever else you run out of. Thanks to all for making this a wonderful vacation for our family.

The house was very nice and definitely big enough for our two families. The location is great and we loved the fact that is was so convenient for so many of our kids' activities. We really liked the two sitting room areas, and I loved the ocean view.
We were however surprised by the very small washer/dryer combination for a five bedroom house, as well as the hot water heater being too small to accomodate everyone being able to enjoy a hot shower. The hot water would run out after two, maybe three showers. The bathrooms did not have any bathmats or shower curtains other than the basic plastic liners. The kitchen needs cookies sheets, etc.
I also think twin beds make more sense than having so many rooms with queens.
The separate apartment was a nice addition - and it was furnished quite nicely

Thank you for your feedback. This home is very popular with its current bed set-up, but the owner will take your request into consideration. The hot water heater is designed to accomodate a home of this size and will be looked into.

This was a lovely home for our group. We were very impressed with having
paper products, soaps and dishwashing supplies provided. A very nice little
extra.
The only problem we had was the broken sofa in the living room - a very
minor problem.
We were all very happy with the house and with the service provided by Wilgus

This is an ideal house, well maintained and full of amenities. Two separate TV rooms, so the adults can have their own area. There are balconies off most bedrooms, making it ideal for some alone time. The separate apartment is a great place as a "getaway" when the kid's get a little noisy. They call it "Grandpa's place". The fact that it's close to the ocean, miniature golf and a water park make this home a very special place.
