Formerly a residence for Leatherwood Employees & Caretakers, the Bunk house is now available to the public! This wood siding home allows convenient access to the... Equine Facility, sitting directly adjacent to the East Barn. Completely furnished with the trail riding enthusiast in mind, it is perfect for our guests that are looking for a step up from the campground with Western style. Watch riders heading out to trail from the front porch. Enjoy the view from the living room as you watch our beautiful horses grazing in the pastures that surround the home. The screened in porch and private back yard is equipped with a grill and an outdoor pool table for your enjoyment. After a long day in the saddle the convenient location & comfortable accommodations of β€œThe Bunk House” will satisfy the inner cowboy in everyone!

  We had always camped at leatherwoods but this time we rented a cabin. How nice it was to litterly just walk in and put your clothes away. We felt right at home from the momement we walked in. We were centerly located, easy access to everything and at the time we stayed there was a wedding, and one night open mic. The music and fun was wonderful to observe from our deck. Our cabin was clean, spacous, with everything in working order. Our stalls were clean spacous ,ready and in the main barn. Full access to horse ammenitys were included with the stall rental. We liked renting a cabin so much we did it again . New review at a later date !

  This is our 2nd time staying in the Bunk House. While not fancy, it has everything we need for an extended family of 6 (2 children, my husband and I, and my elderly parents). The staff is wonderful. Responsive, friendly, efficient - just great. For us, the location (right across from the barn) is perfect. We love the trails of Leatherwood and just couldn't be happier with our decision to go back. I tell my husband, "We're retiring there!" We ate our last meal in the restaurant there - and the food was fantastic. We talked about it for a good week after returning home.

  Our first trip to Leatherwood Mountains exceeded even the high expectations that we had for it. The Bunk House was rustic and nice. The trails and horse facilities were wonderful and the people were very friendly and helpful. Our friends thought the mattress in the master bedroom was very hard. Water pressure in shower was great and kitchen was equipped well. There was very little dishwashing soap available (there were two bottles, each with only a little soap in them). It was enough and I'm sure they would have given us more if we had needed it and asked. We are planning our next visit!

  The furniture (beds, couch, chair) were not very comfortable. Otherwise the house is in a very convient location to the barns and appeared to be very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our 1st visit to Leatherwood and plan to return in april!

  We spent 2 nights and got in rides on both days. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and very convenient to our horses.Overall, the trails were in good shape although signage could be more clear in some locations. No cell phone service. We will definitely return.

  The bunk house was very well stocked with dishes and thinkgs. Had a great time. Would come back again. The only thing that would need improvement is the housekeeping. Spider webbs, stains on carpet, lent on carpet like it had not been vaccumed from last person. Food drips on the cubbards, piece of a bar of soap left in shower. Used matches and half burned candles along with old webbs on the porch. Otherwise no complaints The people at the Wecome Center was very nice and our overall stay was enjoyable.

  Girls Getaway at Leatherwood

  My friends and I planned an overnight at Leatherwood Mountain to trailer up our horses and ride the amazing trails at the facility. We were very pleased with all of the amenities and the comfort and cleanliness of the Bunk House and the Stables and turnouts. We're already planning another (longer) stay in August for a "Sweet 16" weekend. Thanks so much for your hospitality and attention!

  Great place to stay with dogs and close to the horses!

  We brought out horses and dogs and it was perfect to be so close to the barn. The Bunk House had a nice fenced in yard and back screened porch so the dogs could run around without having to be on a leash!
