My wife and I came up to Leatherwood for a long needed vacation. Everything was so perfect. The horse's in the front pasture. Being able to just saddle up and ride off on the trails. We will be back.

There were 7 women and 7 horses prepared to make the journey from Charlottesville to Boone in November. Our situation changed and it ended up being 4 women only. We had a superb time, and we rode 4 lovely horses from the Leatherwood Stable. Stress free and fun. We will come again and most likely leave our horses at home. It was just so easy without them and we got to sleep in - a rarity. If you own horses, and are thinking of bringing them for the first time, consider just coming yourself.

Horse Whisper is the best cabin by far. We kept our horses at the barn but we would have love them to stayed with us. There was a selection of movies but the best thing was seating on the porch and looking out at the pasture. Also is great because there are horse trails that come through the drive way. The cabin was very clean and had alot of room. I didn't want to leave either.

We've been raving to all our friends about our great stay at The Horse Whisperer Cabin at Leatherwood. The staff at Leatherwood was great! Everyone was so friendly and positive.We loved this friendly horse community and the relaxing feel of our cabin in the woods. We had a great time enjoying the mountain scenery and riding horses on the trails.

The cabin and the surrounding area were absolutely beautiful! We brought our horses and left them at the barn which worked out great for us. Next time we might keep the horse in the pasture. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. We did get lost on the trails but ended up on top of a mountain and the awesome view was worth all the back tracking. The kitchen in the cabin was great not to mention the gas grill we cooked our steaks on. There was a great selection of movies to watch but just sitting on the porch of the cabin and staring out at the pasture and surrounding area was all I needed. This was the best riding trip I have ever taken and I am looking forward to renting Horse Whisper again.

I was so impressed with Leatherwood Mountain- everything about it was perfect! Every person we dealt with was so friendly & helpful. The response to our needs was immediate. Our rental home was clean, comfortable, & private. We had an one issue with a broken appliance & it was replaced with a new one the day we reported it! There was PLENTY to do right on the mountain, but there were many great suggestions for local activities too.
I have already told many friends about Leatherwood & will definitely be back many more times!
