We could not have had a better experience! We arrived early for the Leatherwood Mountain Ultramarathon on a Friday afternoon. They were so welcoming and provided great customer service. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, as was the surrounding countryside. There were lots o' mice scurrying around at night, but hey, it's a cabin in the middle of the woods. I don't often like to go back to the same place, but I will definitely visit Leatherwood and this cabin again!

The cabin was fantastic - beautifully furnished with top notch electronics and appliances. It was everything we had envisioned for a mountain getaway. Elegantly and tastefully decorated in a lodge theme. You get the full mountain experience and ambiance while enjoying the conveniences of modern luxury living. Overall, Leatherwood is a wonderful area and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a stay at Crossroads and at Leatherwood.

This is a very clean, beautiful home! The only recommendation I could make for improvement is to have more kitchen items (pitcher for tea or juice) and possibly a couple of baking dishes, and a brush to clean the grill. Other than that the place is perfect! We had a wonderful time at the Crossroads cabin. We also got married right on the porch while we were there!! We are considering building our future home like this one because we liked it so much!

We decided at the last minute to "get away" for my birthday. We called the day of out arrival, answering staff was efficient and couteous. Check-in was effortless. Crossroads was beautifully appointed and comfortable. We spent much of our time there planning our next trip!

We had a wonderful stay, I loved the view and the comfy sofa situated perfectly next to the fireplace and in front of the expansive windows. The huge Scrabble board was a plus even though I lost! We'd stay at this cabin again.

Great place - it's our 2nd time around and we'll be back. Cabin had a major wasp problem though - I killed 40 inside the cabin in just two days - that part was not very relaxing, and the kids were freaking out a little.

Thank you for your recent stay & review. I wish we could say that the Lady bugs & wasps were an isolated incident but unfortunately they are regional issue that we have to deal with from time to time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We do the best we can to make sure they are gone before your arrival but it is pretty amazing how quickly they can show back up! We constantly try to stay ahead of the bug issue - it really BUGS us too!! Thanks for your input & understanding - we look forward to your next visit!!

This was an excellent experience. Check-in/out was breeze. Excellent and friendly staff. Home was beautifully decorated and had everything you need for a week's stay. Location was secluded and private, perfect for a getaway. Amenities were top notch; great TV, hottub, gas grill, soaking tub, large king size bed, gas logs were wonderful. Everything was fantastic. Only other thing I might add would be a DVD player. Overall, it was great!

We really enjoyed our second stay at Leatherwood. It was so peaceful, the staff were all very polite and friendly as usual, and the cabin was very clean. It was great to relax in the jacuzzi, see the stars at night, and sit in the porch rockers and watch the horseback riders go by on ambush Trail right below the cabin. We saw lots of deer and turkey, and enjoyed the horseback riding. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back!!!

These are trully nice people in the NC tradition! Very accomodating, professional, and the homes here are a great value.
Crossroads was our original father-daughter weekend at Merlefest in 2008, and we tried to book again in 2009, but was already booked up. So returning for 2010 was a real joy. We filled the huge porch area with banjos, guitars,and mandolins till the wee hours, and was actually hard to leave the quiet and solitude during the day for Merlefest.
We will be back next year! (if not much sooner!) -

It was the perfect getaway - into the mountains of NC, weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold & a perfect cabin in the woods - with all the amenities that Mom, Dad & the 2 kids (5 & 9) could ever want for...the only problem...it was too short of a stay! We plan to stay longer next time & loved this particular cabin - neat, clean, tucked away but easy to get too. Thanks for a great Spring Break 2010!

Our first stay at Leatherwood Mountains was absolutely wonderful. Check in and check out was a breeze with very friendly and courtesy staff. Crossroads cabin was a beautifully decorated cabin with high end appliances in the kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, beautiful bedrooms, living room and dining room furniture. The home accents were beautiful along with the Bob Timberlake paintings that decorated the bedrooms, which were my favorite. The views of the Mountains were beautiful from the balcony/deck. Driving to the cabin within Leatherwood Mountains was very scenic. It was not uncommon to see several deer and wild turkey in the mornings and late evenings. Beautiful meadows and streams were all throughout the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This was a surprise birthday getaway for my girlfriend. I called ahead for reservations for a 2 hour trail ride which was the first thing we did upon arrival. All of the people at Leatherwood from the trail guide to check in were extremely friendly and helpful. Upon checking in after the trail ride (check in was very easy and quick) we went up to the cabin (Crossroads) and found a gorgeous, clean and well appointed home nestled in the mountainside. Our accomodations were great and left nothing to be desired. Needless to say, she had a wonderful birthday and we both had a great time and will return to Leatherwood the next chance we get. We were totally satisfied with the entire experience except for having to leave. I would easily recommend this place for anyone!!!!

Crossroads was a great vacation home. We loved the peaceful location of the cabin. We loved sitting on the deck and looking at the view. The hot tub was awesome for relaxing after hiking and riding horses. The cabin had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great for preparing meals during our stay. Make sure to bring your food with you. You won't want to leave once you arrive. The service was excellent. The location was ideal for short trips to Boone and Beech Mountain. My daughter and I had a fantastic time and have recommended Leatherwood to friends! We can't wait to come back!
