I took my boys to Learherwood mountain for Easter weekend. We all had an absolute memorable vacation. The staff very friendly and helpful. It's a little far from other areas if interest (skiing) but we still managed to ski twice in our short stay. Boys all asking to go back. Cabin was clean with magnificent views.
Could not imagine a better time. We saw lots of wildlife everyday.
Thinking well take our horses next trip.

We were there for a wedding and spent the weekend at Leatherwood. Our rental was absolutely beautiful, comfortable and had a view of the mountains that was just fabulous.

We were switched to Heaven's Gait from Black Bear due to hornet and mold problems. Heaven's Gait is perfect and has everything you could possible want with the best views imaginable. We could never, however, get internet connection and none of the staff could figure out how to remedy this. Be sure to verify that there is a working password if you rent this lovely place. The beds are not as comfortable as in other houses; it would be better if pillow top, high quality mattresses replaced the harder ones that are there now.We also found that the trails were very much in need of repairs. So much so, that the two in our party who brought their horses with them (and are seasoned trail riders) wouldn't want to return with them on their next visit. Trails marked "easy" were almost impassable. I'm afraid this might be a deal breaker for some riders. Also, be prepared for a winding 15 minute drive up the mountain to reach the house from the barn and central buildings.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The view is undiscribable, pictures do not do it justice. The house is warm and cosy. And, the quite of the mountain country sooths your soul. I wouldn't change a thing... nice job...

We had a wonderful stay again at Leatherwood Mountains. The views from this house are outstanding. We were able to watch a 5 hour lightning show that was better than any firework show. We would stay here again.

6 best friends came to enjoy each others company, the mountain and escape our 15 children. We laughted, we cried, and we danced. Yes, the dancing was a funny sight. The weekend was perfect and the views were inspiring. A weekend 6 best friends will never forget.....We will be back!

My family could not find one thing that we didn't love about Leatherwood, and
the cabin we rented. It has amazing views and is very well kept up. I thought
the pictures almost don't do the cabin inside and out justice. Everyone that
works at Leatherwood where more than helpful. I can not wait to go back and
visit Leatherwood in all the different seasons, as I'm sure the views will be
amazing for each one. -
