  Peacefull, quiet, worry free week at horseshoe knoll.

  This is our 2nd time to stay at Leatherwood as a family. The 1st time was in June of 03. The 2nd time was in November 2012. Being from Fla it was a little chilly but that was a great excuse to use the fireplace. Not one complaint about the cabin it was great. We like staying about a week (its worth it, make the time) I don't see how anyone in their right mind can stay up here for just 1 day. Let it soak in try a week it will re charge your batteries. The only disapointing thing about this place is -( you eventually have to leave). The Hurley's from Fla.

  The Very Best Vacation Escape

  Well, sometimes a "vacation escape" would be an oxymoron since I have been on plenty of vacations where I needed to come back home so I could rest. But not so Leatherwood! There is peace and quiet just waiting for you here! All of the worries and hassles and busy-ness of life can be left at the gate, and a week's supply of serenity and relaxation can be picked up at the front desk at check-in. The views are breathtaking all over these mountains and we love the hiking. Horseshoe Knoll is perfect for us with it's amenities (spa, wood-burning fireplace, loft, outdoor shower, etc) and the sunsets are priceless. My husband brought me here as a surprise 14 years ago and we keep coming back. It's the best home away from home we have found anywhere! Thank you, Leatherwood staff. You're the best.

  We really enjoyed our stay. The children enjoyed all of the house amenities and I enjoyed the beautiful decor. We traveled a long distance to Leatherwood and would recommend it to local friends. We are not sure if we would venture that direction again, but if we do, we would surely stay at Leatherwood.

  My husband needed some R and R, desperately. We found that for him at Leatherwood Mountains and at Horseshoe Knoll. We did have a very good lunch,rented a couple of rods and fished a little. Otherwise we stayed at the house, cooked, watched movies, enjoyed the hot tub,loved the outdoor shower/with a view, but mostly we stared at the beautiful North Carolina mountains! Oh yes, I relaxed too.

  The check in desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
  Horseshoe Knoll was just beautiful, the view was awesome. The home was well stocked, we found everything we needed.
  We look forward to another reunion again at Leatherwood.

  Great Family Trip

  Horseshoe Knoll was perfect for our family. We stayed for 3 nights and our girls (9) had a riding lesson and we did a trail ride together. The house is very comfortable with beautiful views. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck!

  The cabin was excellent in all it's amenities, the view was worth $1,000,000. Sometimes in life, you get more than you paid for, this was one of those times!

  Horseshoe Annual Visit

  We have stayed at this cozy home four different times now and we keep coming back! It is convertable and inviting and clean. Our favorites include the outdoor spa, the ping-pong table, as well as its openness. Most of all, though, we enjoy the cozy living room with its wood-burning fireplace, where we spend hours reading and relaxing. The kitchen is well-stocked and we come to Leatherwood and don't leave until our departure day!
