We had a great get-away! The house is great and we really enjoyed the pool after a long day of mountain biking. We frequently come to Leatherwood and always have a great experience.

We had a good time and great stay at the Morning Doves lodge. Plenty of space for 4 families, pool for the kids and pool table for adults. Have a few issues...for instance plumbing issuew with the toilet on the Upper floor and Phone not working, but that was quickly resolved when we brought up the issue with the management.
Thanks for the comfortable stay and we will be back agin for sure.

My friends and I stay at Leatherwood Mountains during the Merlefest weekend every year - usually in a different cabin. This large cabin has become our favorite place to stay, mainly because of the heated pool and the number of bedrooms. We love grilling and spending time outside at the pool area. The only drawback in this cabin is the small kitchen. A max of 2 can be in the kitchen at a time. Overall, the cabin is a great place for a large group. With the pool, pool table, fireplaces, horseback riding, there is plenty to do. We plan to be back!

We greatly enjoyed our stay and the ability to have our families stay with us on our wedding day. We had a great time in the back playing in the pool and making smores with the whole family the night before our wedding. The only real problem we had was the air conditioner didn't keep the house cool and kept freezing up despite keeping the air set where the post requested.

First when we walked in one of the toilets had a sign that stated "out of order" and a tub downstairs had the same sign! When I pay $350 a night I do not expect to see those words. At the pool the railings had a sign that stated "loose Railings!" Mouse traps with cheese in them. The carpet was dirty. The kitchen was not well equipped at all. Something as simple as a tea pitcher was not to be found. The internet was sporadic at best. The pool was nice, but it wasn't clean either. What we liked best was the pool what we like least was the dirty place, light bulbs out, toilet and tub with "out of order" signs. Bottom line is the place needs to be "spruced up" some. The ad says no pets I believe it would have been ok to have brought my dog she is trained and could not have "messed" up the house anymore than it looked. It was dirty...

We invite our guests to contact our 24 hour maintenance and housekeeping service upon arrival to report any issues so that they may be resolved as soon as possible.

I have stayed here twice, two different houses, and both experiences have been exceptional. The houses are beautiful as well as the grounds. It is a perfect location and an easy drive to the mountain bike trails at Kerr Lake. It is the perfect getaway for relaxation.

Everything was great from the time we got there to time moment we had to leave. By Friday night everyone had agreed that we wanted to come here every year in april. The house was incredible, the furnishings were impressive, the pool was awesome and the staff was friendly and helpfull. We left april 10th and eveyone is still talking about it. Thank you so much for a weekend that will stay with us forever!

We had a wonderful stay. The cabins were gorgeous and had gorgeous views. The surrounding area was great for hiking, relaxing, and enjoying the scenery. I would highly recommend this location.

We came with a bunch of friends from our Christian group at Duke. The house was perfect for the guys of the group because they had a pool table, lots of tvs, and lots of beds. Although we didn't spend much time in their house, the boys were pleased with it.

As always, the service at Leatherwood Rentals was spectacular. The house was in perfect condition and everything was prepared when we arrived. The home is absolutely beautiful with more than enough space for our 3 couples. The master suite was breathtaking! Overall, I would recommend this home for families and friends.

The views throughout Leatherwood are just breathtaking everywhere you go. Unfortunately, I was there for my daughter's wedding so I didn't have time to really enjoy the serenity that Leatherwood has to offer. However, my family and I plan on coming back so do just that, hopefully around Christmas. Leatherwoods is truly beautiful and I hope to make it back many times over.

A Great Place for Our Family Reunion

Morning Dove was perfect for six adults and four teenagers. The pool was sparkling clean, easy to heat, deck was roomy, plenty of room for people to sit around the pool.
Kitchen was well equipped (one little thing, a glass shelf in refrigerator was missing). Grill was easy to use, dining room table didn't seat ten, but we buffeted it and used it for lots of games and sitting around and talking.
The front porch rocking chairs were comfortable and offered a lovely vista. My daughter and granddaughter's horses were happy in the stable.
Another thing I enjoyed was the fact that, though I live just two hours from Leatherwood, I and everyone else felt like we were really on vacation, away from home.
Don't know when our far flung family will be getting together again, so the time at Leatherwood was especially enjoyed by all of us.
