Some friends and I rented this charming, cosy and ultra comfortable cabin for the winter solstice period. We were pretty impressed with the character and charm of the cabin and it really did give me the feel and warmth of a typical North Carolina mountain lifestyle. Coming from the Caribbean, it was indeed a treat to utilize the outdoor jacuzzi while the snow fell on the numerous pine trees surrounding the property. The staff at the welcome centre (only just a phone call away) were all too happy to accommodate our questions on the best hiking trails in the area and other local queries. And the best part of it was, the name of the property holds true to the spectacular views at dusk!! All in all it was truly a refreshing, calming, tranquil experience that would be remembered for a long time to come! Much recommended!

There is so place like home unless it is Leatherwood. The friendly staff always makes you feel like family so we always feel right at home. We eat Thanksgiving lunch at the restaurant and it was absolutely wonderful and enjoyed a quiet weekend at Sunset Ridge. The cabin is so nice and just perfect for a get away. Very comfortable, we enjoyed it so much. Can't wait to go back!

We spent the weekend of June 8th-11th at Sunset Ridge. It was our 1st time at Leatherwood. We drove in...parked...never left the resort all weekend. We releaxed and chilled out all weekend. The cabin is sooo nice...beyond our imagination. The location is super and the view is fantastic. The management and workers at Leatherwood are just super. Very nice and catering to your every need. Just an awesome experience.

Everything was in perfect order. There were plenty of cooking utensils, towels, etc. The beds were comfortable, and the living area was spacious. We had 4 adults and one 4 year-old. We could have been comfortable with two more adults, but it would have been a little crowded. The Jacuzzi was very nice after spending a long day at Merle Fest. Because we were attending Merle Fest, we didn't have an opportunity to bike or trail ride, but I did catch and release a couple of nice crappie out of one of the ponds in about 30 minutes. The streams looked very inviting, but again, we didn't have the time to try the trout fishing. The sunsets were beautiful and the deck overlooking the valley and mountains was a great place to read or just enjoy the spectacular views. I would recommend Sunset Ridge to my closest friends.

Enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Ridge Cabin. Everything about the cabin was absolutely wonderful. The on site restaurant was great. The staff was there to help with whatever you needed. I have to say though that my husband and daughter were not thrilled with the leaders on the trail rides. They said the staff rode off and left the riders to find their own way back. Were not careful at all. Rode fast and hard.

Sunset Ridge is a wonderful place to spend a weekend or a week. The setting is beautiful and the house itself is immaculate. My Husdand and I were given this trip as a birthday gift from our children and we could not have asked for more. We had a wonderful experiance and will definitely be going back in the future with the entire family. Also, be sure to bring a bathing suit for the hot tup!!!

The house we stayed in was beautiful and well maintained. It had all the comforts of home and then some. We couldn't have asked for or expected more than what we got. Leatherwood Mountains is truly a beautiful, relaxing place that we will definitely visit again.

We had reservations for a different cabin but the pipes were frozen and we had to choose a different one. What luck that turned out to be! The view of the sunsets were incredible. Even from the hot tub! The only problem we encountered was we brought our wii from home and could not connect it due to the outdated TV. But that just forced us to play checkers, cards and take another dip in that hot tub so it worked out just fine! We plan to try a different cabin each year but this one goes on the top of the list!

My husband and I got away for Valentine's Day and stayed at this amazing cabin! The view from the hot tub was spectacular and the stone fireplace really gave us that mountain lodge feel. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed: pots and pans, towels, kitchen cleaning supplies and rags, shampoo, soap, etc. The cabin was clean and warm. We were so pleased with our 2 nights here. We would definitely rent from Leatherwood Rentals again. The Welcome Center staff were knowledgable, professional, and helpful with all of our questions. Truly one of the best mountain cabin rentals we have ever used! You won't be dissapointed.

We enjoyed our stay at Leatherwood. The staff was great and the home was clean and beautiful. We plan to come again. We also enjoyed our horseback riding adventure with Wes as our guide.

Absolutely overwhelmed right from the moment we opened the door. What a beautiful cabin!!! So clean and what a comfy cozy feel in the way it is decorated. I loved everything about this cabin and would 100% consider staying there again. It had an open lower level floor plan, awesome wrap around porch, jacuzzi, grill and THE VIEW......you'll have to see it to believe it!!! If you want to relax, this is the place for you!!! I now consider it "my mountain getaway" cabin and will plan to come back at least 2x per year.....I hated to even leave it on the last day.

We had another great experience at Leatherwood.
This is our third year and each time we have stayed in a different cabin.
This year it was Sunset Ridge, appropriately named as the afternoon sun was a delight as well as providing breathtaking evening views of the mountains.
