We wanted a quiet rural getaway for our family (mom, dad, baby, and dog) and the Grove exceeded our expectations! It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well-appointed -- the kitchen met our every need, the beds were very comfortable, and the wifi (!) was fast. There's also satellite TV, which we didn't use.
We spent our days snowshoeing and our evenings enjoying fireside games and drinks. We didn't use the hot tub, but definitely will next time. We'd love to return, either by ourselves or with a group of friends -- the cabin setup could easily accommodate more than one family of our size comfortably.
There's a loft bedroom, bathroom, and a master bedroom on the main floor (along with kitchen, dining, and living area), and a lower floor with another bedroom, bathroom, and living area. There's a door between the lower and upper levels, so it would be easy for some members of the group to enjoy television while another group enjoys the quiet upstairs.
Also, the views from throughout the upper level are fantastic! -

This was by far the most memorable vacation we have ever had. We spent two nights in Wisconsin Dells at Kalari Resort in the indoor park, then spent the rest of the week at The Grove in Ferryville. It was the single most relaxing 3 days of our lives.
The stay got very interesting when we locked ourselves out of our cabin at midnight while relaxing in the hot tub. We were very lucky to have a nice couple in the cabin next to us that took us in for the night and let us stay in their basement till the next morning. The next morning Eric got the cabin unlocked for us and we enjoyed the rest of our stay.
It is a fantastic cabin, with great views of the starts at night from the hot tub. The Knutson's are great people that take very good care of you while you are there.
I would recommend any of these cabins to anyone looking for some relaxing time away from the stress of the real world. At first we were a little disappointed that there was no TV in the living, but we spent a lot more family time together and really got a chance to spend some quality time together as a family, we flew kits and sit around the fire pit everyday.
I will honestly say, you will never have a more relaxing vacation, and a better place to get away than these cabins. Thanks for everything you did for us. We will be back!

We were treated very well by Eric and staff. They were friendly, warm and made sure we had a lovely stay. The Grove was a very, very nice cabin. Loved the style, decor and location. It was arranged nicely room-wise with all modern appliances including a washer and dryer. Loved the hot tub and walk-out basement. It has a nice large yard and wrap-around deck. We were there in all the snowy weather and it was beautiful! We are renting from Eric again this August. He is a wonderful person to rent from.
Our favorite thing was using the hot tub in the evening and looking up at all of the stars. We also loved being able to go in with the fireplace on and warm up.
Our least favorite thing was being there in the cold winter weather, the basement was a little on the chilly side when we sat down to enjoy a movie together.
We had a wonderful stay and will continue to rent from Eric as long as he will have us!!Response from Eric Knutson - 05/18/2010
