Description from the owner

The Fig Garden Cottages are located in the stunning, historical Kaya Valley in the South West of Turkey. These attractive cottages are surrounded by fruit trees, notably fig, pomegranate and quince and look across the fields to the heritage site of Kaya (Levissi). Traditionally built of local stone and wood the two cottages compliment the area, both have a private terrace area and share a large pool in the garden. The stunning Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz is only a short drive away making the cottages a great base for not only exploying the rural countryside but also the beautiful beaches in the area.

      superb location, wonderful hosts.

Left on 05/19/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Our third visit to this property with a real cottagey feel. Superbly located in a garden with fig, banana and pomegranate trees surrounding a beautifully kept swimming pool. A short walk to the village of Kayakoy with lots of good restaurants and a couple of good shops. Vicky and Burcin were wonderful hosts lending us guides for the area so we could plan our walks. We will just have to come back again to explore some more of the Lycean Way.

      Sessiz ve Serin

Left on 09/13/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Wonderful hosts, beautiful setting, lovely house

Left on 04/30/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We are a family with children aged 13 and 10 and stayed in Fig Cottage for a week and the garden is every bit as lovely as the website suggests! The owners are so friendly and helpful; assisting with arrangements before we arrived and of course during our stay. They really are the perfect hosts! The cottage, garden and pool are regularly cleaned and constantly well maintained. The houses are well spaced and screened from each other so that there is privacy as well as help on hand when you need it!

Kaya Village feels like an authenticTurkish village and is unspoilt by tourism ,however, the local people are very friendly and patient. The village is a short walk away and there are three well stocked village stores and there is a large fruit and vegetable stall. There are also teahouses and a good selection of restaurants and of course the vast remains of the old Greek town Levissi. This has a special unique atmosphere of it's own- peaceful and overgrown with wild flowers in spring. Before you go, it is worth doing some background research and reading, (or taking), Louis de Bernieres 'Birds without wings'.

You don't absolutely need to hire a car but we did to help us to explore the outlying area as much as possible. The owners can help advise about car rental, taxis or airport transfers etc.

During the week we visited Olu Deniz lagoon which is very close so you can get a dolmus from the village if you don't have a car. Also some ancient Greek/Roman/Byzantine ruins at Xanthos, Letoon, Tlos and Patara as well as the Saklikent Gorge. These are well worth visiting but some might be quite difficult without a car.

Overall we enjoyed a wonderful week and although we've only been home one week we already plan to return!

A perfect secluded location within easy reach of many amenities

Left on 03/22/2011 for a stay in August 2010

We loved The Fig Garden so much we came back two years running!

A beautiful rustic cottage in a stunning location. We hired a car on our second stay as it enabled us to travel around a bit more. Whether you want a peaceful holiday by the pool or a beach holiday this accommodation is perfect for doing either.

There is lots to do. We hired our own boat down at Olu Deniz and toured the bays. We went Horseriding in Kaya valley. My 14 year old son took his Padi open water diving course during our stay.

I would really recommend a stay at The Fig Garden and Vicky and Burcin and their children are an absolute pleasure to know. Nothing is too much trouble and they have thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

This property was a real find and we will be returning again!

      Hidden gem in Kaya KOY...

Left on 03/21/2011 for a stay in October 2010

We have been visiting Turkey since 1986,but only discovered Fig Gardens in 2010.There are 3 very nice properties which surround private gardens and a good size swimming pool .One of the properties is the home of Burcin and Vicky, with the other 2 properties available for rent. Both of these are fully equiped, very much to the detail that you would with your home. The setting and gardens are wounderful and the pool is maintained to a very high standard, which is only what you would expect as the pool is also used by Burcin,Vicky and their 3 children.Vicky is always around to provide any help, advice,or to make any bookings required.Over the years we have made a considerable number of contacts in the area.We now find that so many of these know of Fig Gardens, and also Burcin and Vicky, both of whom are held in most high regard.
Finding Fig Gardens last year can only be discribed as "starting our love affair with Turkey all over again".
Well done Burcin and Vicky, and we very much look forward to being with you again this year.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

Relaxation, with history on your doorstep.

Left on 03/20/2011 for a stay in June 2010

A few paces from your delightfully appointed cottage and patio is the banana fringed blue pool where a book, a cool drink and the refreshing dip will while away the time and banish those stresses. Plenty of shade in a well planted garden for those who prefer not to baste to a golden brown. Easy walking to historical sites and the numerous hidden places to eat. Minibus to noise and lights if urgent.

      A heavenly holiday

Left on 03/14/2011 for a stay in August 2010

Vicky and Burcin Erdogan have created a wonderful holiday destination at their glorious cottages in the Kaya Valley. The area is tranquil and stunningly beautiful and populated by friendly locals; the cottages and gardens are gorgeous and the pool is blissful. But it was the warmth, generosity and thoughtfulness of the owners that made this a stand-out holiday for us. Vicky and Burcin are so hospitable and friendly and went out of their way to help with every tiny query we had. Their knowledge of the local area is exceptional and enabled us to have some fantastic days out; they were always on hand to help whilst also giving us space to relax. A first-class and memorable experience.
