a midsummers week dream
canton, ohioAll 12 of us enjoyed this Finger Lakes vacation spot!
Left on 11/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
In July 2012 it was hot and dry. But at Seneca Shores there was a breeze on the lake and the weather was fine. The house, itself, accommodated all 12 of us quite well, using all of the bedrooms upstairs and down. We grilled out on the deck several evenings for dinner. We lounged throughout the upper and lower common areas. Our family reunion was very enjoyable in wine country.

House & location was great. We were very fortunate with weather, rain didn't interfere with activities. May flies were somewhat annoying on deck but that's part of nature. Riesling Passport was most enjoyable, people were friendly wherever we went & finding good food was not a problem at all.

Clinton, NYLack of response to pests issue and sulf water kill the joy
Left on 10/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010
On Monday morning we discovered a hornets nest the size of a basketball after I was stung - after repeated calls and inadequate response they finall sent a professional to remove - I was stung on 3 occasions and have a sensitivity to stings that took several weeks to subside.
On arrival we noticed a slight sulfer smell in the water supply - it got extremely strong by Thursday and we were considering leaving when the properties caretaker showed up and recharged the system. It slowly improved.
The neighbors are obnoxious - they met in the lawn of this home every morning and let their dogs do their business with out cleaning up and were unresponsive when we asked them to take the dogs away - they acted like we were invisible.
We had our adult children from Texas with our two grandsons as well as a son and graddaughter with us and tried to remain positive - we will not rent from Finger Lakes again. We have rented vacation homes up and down the coast and have never encountered such poor service.Response from Finger Lakes Premier Properties - 10/12/2010

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your vacation rental. We pride ourselves in excellent Customer Service, and clearly, we fell short in your case. I do appreciate the feedback regarding the sulfur smell and the neighbors. We would be happy to address these issues with the owner. Thank you again for the comments, and if you ever change your mind, we would appreciate an opportunity to serve you again if you are in the Finger Lakes.

MichiganJune Trip Review
Left on 07/17/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We really enjoyed the house and property. The house layout was great for the group we had (adults and children). The deck was nice as well as the grassy area. The area/neighborhood was quiet and was within a reasonable distance for groceries, etc.

Great Place
Rochester, NYGreat Place
Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in May 2010
We loved this place except for a couple things. Dont go there when the weather is hot because the air conditioning can not keep up with the size of the house. The main floor wasnt bad but the second floor wouldnt cool down at all and made sleeping very uncomfortable. I called to report this but nothing was done because I dont believe anything could be done. Just too small a unit for the house. The other thing is that check out time (10 a.m.) is way too early!! Most are barely out of bed much before that and leaves very little time for breakfast and packing up to go. I suggest no earlier than noon.

Wine Lover from Ohio
Chardon, OhGreat House
Left on 02/26/2010 for a stay in May 2009
We have been taking an annual Finger Lakes Wine trip with a growing group of friends. We have been to 3 B&B's and rented 2 different houses. This is our favorite and we are renting it again this year (2010). With 5 large bedrooms, 2 other sleeping areas, and 5.5 bathrooms it is large enough for all of us. We use the office as a staging area for our many cases of wine. The open floor plan and huge deck allow everyone to be together without feeling left out because they are in the kitchen. Beautiful view of the lake with easy access.
