We've stayed at Sails and Sunsets various times of the year. First, a few years ago in October, the trees were in full color, reds, yellows, oranges. The view was amazing and keeps us coming back. The next time for our anniversary last year in May, a bit rainy but who cares when there's things to do? The day we left was beautiful and we took our usual pics from the lakefront deck. We just returned from another visit last month (December '12) and we're going back to the region next month again but will stay this time in a B&B; for a change. We love this house's view. To sit on the deck and watch the sunset is wonderful. I read another review that said the Bluff got in the way of the sunset. Really? The view of the Bluff is one of the reasons we continue to return. The managers of the property are top notch. Pictures of this property are what you get when you rent. There are no surprises. We've rented from other agencies that changed the pics to make the house look better but not them. The house is clean, easy to navigate through the region when jumping from lake to lake. We love the area, Finger Lakes Premier Properties and will return to this house or another one of their sites next autumn.

I would recommend this rental to all. Beds are comfortable, house is clean and very convenient to the lake and local wineries (of which there are plenty)!
Linens and towels are included but bring extras as this would have been my only complaint (not enough towels)! -

I'm sure things are more hectic during the summer. However, I and my friends and family prefer to vacation off season. Sails and Sunsets was perfect. The home was nicely appointed. The view from the deck was breathtaking. We loved Lake Keuka. It was easy to visit the many wineries from the home. I'd return to the Finger Lakes and stay in the same rental home in a heartbeat.

Our recent stay at Sails and Sunsets was very enjoyable. The house was clean and nicely furnished, but the location is by far its best feature. The view of Keuka Lake is breathtaking. We spent a great deal of time on the deck sipping wine and watching the sailboats (and seaplanes) go by. Even the neighbors were very friendly and accommodating, even though I'm sure they'd rather have permanent neighbors next door! We'd definitely consider staying at this property on future visits to the Finger Lakes.

We loved this place. We stayed with 2 other couples for a long autumn weekend and found the place to be superb. The check-in and check-out process was very easy. The cottage has all of the amenities and comforts of home and was is such good condition we thought it was recently built, even though it was built s few years back. The views of the lake from the large living area and the outside deck where fabulous. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. We found it to be the perfect place to spend some quality time with friends while enjoying the NY wine country. There was nothing that we didn't like about this cottage.

Although the week vacation in Central New York was pleasant, Sails and Sunsets did not quite live up to the Five Star Property rating as determined by Finger Lakes Premier Properties.
The kitchen cooking area was very big and user friendly. The dining area and living area on the first floor were comfortable. However, the loft area is not really useable for family purposes.
While the first floor area (main floor) is useable, there are approximately tweleve steps to be navigated to reach this level. This can be a problem when carrying packages on the steps or when the steps are wet, which is not unusual for the climate.
Alternately, the walk out basement (ground floor) is accessible from the deck at grade by the lake in the rear of the property. However, the basement is not finished and is not conducive for gathering of children. A partially finished basement with a TV would go a long way to separate the children from the adults during vacation.
I would not feel comfortable with four cars on the property as there are clear signs from the neighbors to keep off the grass.
At times I got the impression that as a renter I was interferring with the daily activities of the seasonal / year round property owners in the neighborhood.
While the sunsets are beautiful from the deck, there are times that the bluff gets in the way of the setting sun.
A trip into town is a planned activity and not around the corner. In many instances, it is necessary to drive to a second town. The Management Company failed to leave a full propane BBQ tank requiring an extra trip into town. Please bring all items you must have with you.
Based upon the house layout, close proximity of the neighbors and location of the property from town, I recommend that this property be considered as a Four Star Property rating for your vacation planning purposes and enjoy your vacation should you select to stay at Sails and Sunsets.

We checked in very easily after hours at the hotel near the Premier Property office in Pen Yan. The house was very clean and absolutely perfect for the weekend stay. We did the Holiday at the wineries tour on Keuka, so the location of the house was absolutely perfect! No complaints here! We will definately be visiting again!

My family and I rented this beautiful home for a week. We enjoyed the location very much! The only "disadvantage" is that it is relatively far from grocery shopping centers. Other than that, the house was super clean, it was fully equipped, it has a fantastic view of the lake, and it is a very peaceful area. I highly recommend this Finger Lakes location. The office people were very friendly and very efficient during the process of renting it (I did it via email and phone). We had a fantastic time there and we are looking forward to going back to that area soon!!
