Hyde, CheshireA quiet relaxing holiday
Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in June 2010
A comfortable, homely cottage. The beach is a few yards away and the Isle of Iona can be seen from the windows with lovely sunsets in the evening. A pub is a short walk away and the food is very good. A trip on the ferry to the isle of Iona is recommended. There are beautiful beaches with white sand and turquoise seas. During our stay on the isle of Mull we saw seals, golden eagles, deer and in one bay a basking shark. We had beautiful weather blue skies and sunshine but it's not always like this.

The best view on Mull!
Left on 11/26/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed in the cottage for our honeymoon, and it provided an excellent base for our adventures exploring Mull & Iona.
The view is exceptional - you can sit by the log fire and watch the Iona ferry go back and forth, and the sheep graze in the garden.
The location is excellent - the pub and village shop are across the road, the Ferry is a few minutes walk away, and the best restaurant in Mull (allegedy - it's closed from late Oct to May) is a short walk away too.
The accommodation is clean and comfortable, although it took a while to get the place warm in October using the oil heaters and open fire that is your source of heating.
The owners are very helpful, giving lots of tips on walks and places to go.
No mobile signal, no internet - bliss!Response from Colin & Jackie Kirkwood - 05/09/2013

Getting Mulled
EdinburghYou could not wish for a better outlook!
Left on 10/12/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Everything about this cottage is great, and we had a wonderful week with 4 friends, in good weather. Although we had the bedroom with en suite, there were no complaints about the other 2 smaller ones. The outlook here is just superb, we had trips to Iona, Staffa, Erraid and Carsaig (where rock formations attract geologists from all over), and nice walks from the cottage. The Keel Row pub is good for bar meals (but you can get better beer on Iona!), the shop is good (you can order fresh seafood on Wednesdays), and the Iona ferry (seen from the cottage) is only 5 minutes walk away. And the sheep rub themselves against your car! Looking forward already to another visit.

Bolton2nd time there and just as good!!
Left on 02/26/2012 for a stay in January 2011
This was our second visit to the cottage but this time with friends and they enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need and is in an amazing location - positioned directly on a small bay with a huge window overlooking stunning sea views. The village is small and welcoming with a lovely local pub and convenience store which even rents out dvds. This is a tranquil, peaceful place, perfect for walking and exploring and we hope to return.

CongletonSuperb location with beautiful West-facing view and direct acces
Left on 02/26/2012 for a stay in August 2011
This cottage is made special by its superb location overlooking the sound of Iona. There is a large picture window in the lounge and direct access to the beach at the end of the garden. We enjoyed the most wonderful sunsets over Iona. There is the added advantage that you can easily take the early ferry across to Iona and enjoy the Island in peace before the busloads of tourists get there. There are other beautiful beaches near the cottage which were almost deserted even in august. Mull is, of course, superb for wildlife and we had close views of an otter on Loch Spelve
