The house is dug unto the volcanic cliff `1500 feet above the water in the village of Firostefani, which is the northern extension of Fira, the main town of the island. It is off the main walking street on a cobbled lane., facing the water. The neighborhood has restaurants and small shops. Parking is about 100 yards from the house

Myself and 2 friends just spent four nights in Spiti Martin and it was a great choice! We were looking for an authentic cave house experience without too much hassle, and the the owner is responsive and helpful.
I didn't know much about the island's villages, but Firostefani was a great choice - tons of good restaurants around and easy to get anywhere else but slightly removed from the overcrowding of Fira when cruise ships are docked.
The house itself was wonderful - a lovely and roomy terrace with a ridiculous view. I would certainly recommend and hope to return.

Our family of 4 stayed 5 nights in the cave house. Upon arrival we read through the binder full of information and recommendations which was very helpful. The location was close enough but not too close to Fira, an easy walk. The nearby restaurants served us very well. It was a wonderful place to wake-up in, sitting on the terrace with my morning tea was very relaxing. The cave house was just like the pictures, it was surprisingly spacious. The kitchen was small but all that we needed. Marty the owner was helpful and responded quickly to emails. A really wonderful experience and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at this cave house for a month recently and absolutely loved my time here. Firostefani is a beautiful, quaint and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to the main town of Fira and is an easy bus ride to Oia. Nearby cafe and travel agent are fantastic as well. I had as many as four people there at one time and we were very comfortable. The terrace has one of the best views on the island and is perfect for watching the sunset while drinking the great local wine and some amazing Greek food. Great kitchen so you can cook your own food and has washing machine. I felt like I lived here! Would definitely stay again on my next visit. I highly recommend this house for the traditional Santorini cave house experience.

Thanks Rosie, I always wondered if all guests would "get" the kitchen...it is approptiate to the house. A microwave would blow fuses!!!!!
