"High up on the hill overlooking beautiful Fish Bay, is a lovely yellow villa with light purple shutters. Welcome to Daffodil Villa, a lovely two bedroom two and half bath home, nestled hillside in upper Estate Fish Bay, on St. John's south shore. A haven for peace and privacy.
The wide spacious deck and swimming pool overlook the Bay and beyond. The pool is 22 X 14 and is only 5 foot deep in the middle and about 4 feet deep around the edges. Very people friendly for everyone and of course is designed with the panorama in mind. Four reclining lounge chairs and two pool floats are available for relaxing by land or water.

My Husband & I stayed at Daffodil on our last trip to St John. We needed to make a villa change half way through our week & that's when we found Daffodil! We loved everything about it. The view & pool deck really won us over. The house was very comfortable & bright & meet all of our needs. Kathy was so helpful & was great to work with. We've already booked our next trip to Daffodil in 2012.

180 degree view to the south, with portions of sunrises and sunsets. No neighbors to speak of. Very well maintained villa, with the only negative on furnishings being very soft beds. Great for a undisturbed getaway, as long as you don't mind the drive from town and the beaches.

Daffodil Villa is a gorgeous little property, just as comfortable and secluded as it looks on its website. The spacious kitchen is wonderfully equipped; the sheltered patio dining table has a fabulous view; why would you bother going out to dinner? The brisk little plunge pool wakes you up in the morning and provides a refreshing cool-off after you return from snorkeling and before you take your nap. Beds are comfy; bathrooms are beautiful; great room is airy and bright. Outside, humming birds zip around the brilliant flowering shrubs, and a family of kestrels perches in the trees on the hill above the house. Bring your binoculars! We adore this charming place. Caveats: As with many St. John properties, you MUST have 4-wheel drive to navigate the narrow, dubiously paved roads and steep driveway. Water pressure is not great and there are screens-only windows that let the breezes waft through the bathrooms, so showering at Daffodil can be a really cool experience, in all senses of the word. But those are small prices to pay for a stay so close to paradise.

We have stayed at Daffodil three times...in fact, three years in a row.
Pros: It is clean and bright. The views of Fish Bay, the Southern part of the National Park and Reef Bay are amazing. The A/C works great, if that matters to you. We also liked that it was easy to lock the villa when going into town. Actually, we really like the villa itself.
Cons: The pool and the pool area. Due to the tradewinds, the pool never seemed to get warm enough to use. We are pool people, so that was a bother. The pool deck is, well, barren. We used to stay at Unicorn, Daffodil's downstairs neighbor. While it had its own issues, the pool area was full of flowers. We missed that lushness at Daffodil. Lastly, the owners really should consider putting a hot tub on the pool deck. The deck area where they have the round table that no one uses would be ideal.
