We have had holidays in the Fishguard area for the last 27 years, and found Thorns Cottage about 2 years ago and would now never stay anywhere else when visiting the area, which is at least twice a year.
The cottage is a clean, comfortable, home from home and in a perfect postion, close enough to the centre of Fishguard and the local amenities but a two minute walk away to the harbour.
The local area is beautiful with plenty of walks. Ron is a very approachable and friendly person, with good local knowledge. -

We stayed at the cottage in may, it is my 3rd visit, and my boyfrienfs first, i can only describe it as a home from home. My mum and i went one year for xmas and they even put a tree up to make our stay as festive as possible, Ron and his wife are lovely people, and nothing is ever too much trouble.

Absolutely brilliant! I really enjoyed. The cottage is perfect for exploring the fantastic Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the national park. The location is great - on a quiet road, but only minutes from a bustling town. Thorn Cottage is pet friendly too - essential for me. On a side note, Pembrokeshire is a great destination for dog friendly holidays, your dog will be welcomed virtually everywhere, and drinking water is supplied and offered all over the place.
As for the cottage, I couldn't have asked for better. The owner has thought of everything to ensure that anyone who stays there doesn't want for anything - from Dvds and books, to picnic ware, board games, local takeaway menus, maps and anything else you can think of! The garden is enclosed too, which for dog owners and parents alike will provide peace of mind. -

Have been going to Thorn cottage at least once a year for the past five years. Ron Wade is a lovely man, very helpful and accommodating but leaves you alone to enjoy your stay. The cottage is roomy, comfy and just like a home from home but the big plus for us is that we can take the dogs as well. We love the area, there are plenty of good walks, the town centre is a five minute walk from the front door but you would never know it. We have been just as a couple, with family and also with friends and everybody has enjoyed their stay, family members will be visiting in the next few weeks again. This cottage is the place to go if you want to switch off have a complete break from your busy day to day life, do some walking or just hanging around chilling out. Fishguard has everything you need for your day to day shopping there are pubs and restaurants to eat at but there is no tourists shops as such its a small quite community, so if your looking for a buzzing night life this isn't the place for you, but for a complete chill out then there isn't a better place to go.

The service was exemplary and good to have the owners living nearby - not that we needed them. Thecottage is spacious allowing my son and his friends to have separate space from me. Close enough to beaches etc without the high cost one closer toa beach. Great views from nearby walks which start just metres from the cottage. A good price for a short break - and I'm getting better at parking on the hill. Fantastic activities nearby. We hope to return.

Everything we needed for a marvellous holiday, a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, everyone's so friendly. We're always made to feel welcome and very comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble and we've re-visited many times, we will most definately be back again!
