Fox Pines Cabin is a beautiful home located in Kachina Village which is about half way between Munds Park and Flagstaff at exit 333 off I-17. Approx. 1.5 hours from Phoenix and 15 minutes to Flagstaff. Kachina Village has a new park that we are very proud of, it just opened a couple months ago. The park is large with many picnic tables, ramadas, BBQ grills, rock climbing, swings, playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball field, restrooms and walking paths. Is located near large hills where there is sledding. There are also several areas in Kachina where people just pull off the side of the road and go sledding which cannot be done at Snowbowl.... There is also a convenience store with gas pumps, a Subway Restaurant and everything you might need. Over behind the store is forest area where you can ride quads, rhino or just take a drive though the forest for miles. All this is within 3-5 minutes to our cabin.
Once you are at the cabin, which is located on a paved road with plenty of parking, you will have easy access to the deck. There are only 2 small steps down from the front yard to the walkway which is a fully fenced wrap around deck. The kids love to run around the cabin and they have plenty of room to play. The cabin is not too close to neighbors and backs up to a canyon area with lots of trees for a bit of privacy. There are large windows along the rear of the house in the living room, looking out at the trees and canyon area. Sit in front of the fire of the stove and enjoy the scenery. Go out on the back deck and sit in a relaxing chair around the table, there are plenty of chairs and a BBQ grill too. There is a covered porch area off the front door so you could bring a kids swing or hammock and hook it up. There are sliding doors out to the patio from all the bedooms and the living room too. The cabin is light and bright with lots of windows and glass doors.
The kitchen, dining area and living room are an open floor plan. There is a large kitchen table with an extra leaf for seating for 8-10 with extra folding chairs if needed. The master bedroom has a comfortable king sized poster bed and there are extra air mattresses under the bed if needed. The second bedroom has a full sized bed and a rocking chair. The third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds and an extra mattress under the bed for a total of 5 single beds. The sectional couch in the living room has a hide a bed too. There are 2 bathrooms with tub showers in both and there is also a newer front load washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, blender, mixer, crock pot, griddle and anything else you may need. We leave a roll of paper towels, TP, a few trash bags and some basics. There is a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, extra space heaters, and we leave some extra shampoo and things in case you forget something. Please leave the unused items there for the next guests, they are there for convenience not for taking. There are plenty of linens and towels. There are minimal supplies to get you started so make sure you bring what you need as far as personal items and food. The water is good out of the faucet and there is a filtering pitcher there too. There is a stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and disposal.
It is a cozy cabin with all the comforts of home. There is a downstairs storage area that is not included but there is patio are down there. It is a great neighborhood for taking a long walk, finding a sledding area, playing in the park, driving through the forest or going to the convenience store without driving into town. You can be at Snowbowl in less than 30 minutes, ASU in less than 15 minutes and major shopping and restaurants in 10 minutes including the mall in about 20 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions. Take a scenic drive to Sedona from the highway behind Kachina Village and be there in less than 1 hour depending on how much you stop and enjoy the drive. The Grand Canyon is less than 2 hours away and is a beauty that must be enjoyed. There are lakes for fishing in the area and many other activities to enjoy.
So whether you are just hanging out at the cabin with a bbq on the deck, or driving around exploring the area, this is a great location.
Please feel free to call me with any questions and to secure your reservation. The rate varies depending on the dates, the number of people and number of days. We may allow small pets with an extra deposit.
We have a contract that we can send you to review and a deposit is needed to hold the cabin. All rents need to be paid by cashiers check or money order and we will accept credit cards with a 3% service charge added.
There is also a non-refundable cleaning fee of $100. The security deposit is refundable, based on the assessment of the cleaning crew after guests check-out. Check-in is 2pm and check-out is noon. These times are flexible on a case by case basis.
