The service I received was excellent. The location couldn't have been better. My only problem was the stocking of kitchen items. They were often sparse or missing. However, I was able to do what I needed in the kitchen with some creativity.
The cottage was clean and comfortable. The highlight was when the goats were out in the pasture and the peacocks came right up to the door to visit.

At the last minute our two grandchildren were able to join my wife and I on this vacation. The staff was able to rent us a larger cottage so everyone was comfortable and had their own space. The cottage was perfect. We loved being by the pasture and watching the goats and Flat Rock offered us some activities/shopping as well as Hendersonville. The grandchildren didn't want to leave so that provides the best testimony I can think of. We liked being able to fix meals in the kitchen of the cottage rather than eating out all of the time. I am a walker, and there were a lot of interesting paths to take. We will do this again in the future.
We really enjoyed a very relaxing and beautiful home and surroun

Thank you for a very enjoyable time. We were in Flat Rock for a wedding weekend. This home was not only adequate. It exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the decor and the easy-going surroundings.
Comfortable, charming and convenient

Almost everything was great. Ridiculous ant problem. Literally hundreds of them in the kitchen. There were dead ones squished to the wall so we were not the first to experience. I bought traps but no help
Shower in hall bathroom would not stay warm. A little annoying

The Buttercup cottage is incredibly comfortable and cute. The kitchen is centrally located and has expansive bar and eating area. The open design of the cottage allowed the family to celebrate and be together. Great views of the goat pasture from the covered rear porch. Very relaxing.
Very relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay at Buttercup very much. We've stayed at two other cottages at Highland Lake and this was the best. A few suggestions: brighter light bulbs, more paper supplies (towels and bathroom tissue), in-structions about how to operate the DVD players would have been helpful. A couple of light bulbs in bathroom #2 were burned out and a slat on the screen door leading down the front stairs was loose and kept falling out (we finally left it on the floor to be tacked back in). Otherwise, it was a very comfortable, quiet place and we had a great time. Appreciated the complimentary wine, water, coffee, and bath supplies.
A Great Time!

We recently stayed in the Buttercup cottage over the July 4th weekend and had a wonderful time. In all we rented 3 of the cottages for our extended family and all were clean and ready to enjoy.
We would highly recomend Highland Lake. A very good value for the money.
