We really enjoy the house. Its beautiful inside. Just would prefer a little more there to do, like maybe a better fire pit and seats and a way to get off back porch to access back yard, without having to walk around the house. And maybe some horse shoes or other games, but overall , house very clean and love all the wood and stone inside. Great bed downstairs to sleep in. Need better water pressure in showers.

This is a great cabin and we had a great time. The lid for the hot tub was difficult, but other than that all we could have asked for was a stream to listen to and see.
All in all for a night to get away it's great. -

We thoroughly enjoyed how secluded and comfortable this cabin was. Although close enough (15-20 minutes from Boone) to attractions, I would have preferred to be a little bit closer. The pictures in no way do justice to this property. It was immaculately furnished, fully stocked kitchen, amazing hottub, comfortable beyond belief. Truly gorgeous. Ample seating, inside and out, the loft/gameroom was great. A+++ for overall beauty of this cabin.

We originally reserved another rental (I can't remember the name). The first home we reserved was terribly misrepresented online. We pulled up to the home (almost needed four wheel drive to get to it) and it looked like a small shack. We went into the home and it felt like it was approx. 300 sq. ft. The pictures were manipulated online in a way that it looked 3X the actual size. It was extremely dirty and in terrible shape. It was advertised online to have satellite, however you could only get satellite in the bedroom. The TV in the livingroom was DVD only. It had a small futon for a couch which was terribly uncomfortable. We would have been better off pulling our travel trailer to a campground. Our travel trailer is much larger and nicer. We called the office and thankfully the person on duty was willing to move us to a home that was closer to our expectations. We arrived in West Jefferson a little after 5:00 however we didn't get settled in our new home until almost 9:00 (we had to wait until the spa was serviced). I felt like we lost one night of our stay. My rating above was based on the rental they moved us to. If I had to rate the original rental I would be stretching to give it one star (terrible). I don't know if I would recomment this rental company to a friend. If I did, I would tell my friend to be extremly cautious. The pictures online can be misleading.

My husband and I had a wonderful time @ Among the Laurels! It was so relaxing and peaceful. Everything was so clean and well maintained. We have nothing negative at all to say about our experience! We look so foward to returning when our pocketbook will allow it. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all! For our trip it was just my husband and I
but we look foward to returning with our children. -

The home, location, amenities, atmosphere, service - everything was great. The washing machine and dryer had issues - it took at least 2 hours to wash a load of clothes because of the water pressure and whatever else was wrong with it. The dryer was really slow too.
My main complaint was with the way my payment was handled. On the internet it stated that if you stayed 3 or more nights you received a 10% discount. (I think it was 10% - it's been so long since I stayed there) We stayed three nights, but were billed the regular price on our credit card. Everytime that I called to try and get it straightened out, the lady that handled that department was not in. This went on for a few weeks and then I got busy with work and Christmas and let it slip by. After Christmas I called one more time and they said since it was a new year they couldn't give me the credit. They said they could do it if I stayed there again. Well, to me that's not right. My vacation times are few and far between and I didn't appreciate the way that was handled. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay.

I took my wife up for a weekend for her birthday. The house was absolutely beautiful, and in a great location. It was close to all the small towns that make this area so fun to visit.
The house was fully equipped, and we did not have a need for anything except our personal items and food. Inside was excellent with a huge floorplan, and looked brand new.
Whether you plan on staying for a couple of days, or even a week, this is the way to do it. We will definately be coming back!!
