San DiegoPerfectly located apartment in Santa Croce
Left on 03/27/2013 for a stay in October 2011
We stayed 10 days in this apartment, located in an historic building in the Santa Croce neighborhood. The place was clean and furnishings OK although the bed was pretty lumpy and uncomfortable. The bedroom is on the courtyard side, so sleeping was easy--no street noise. Be aware that it's in the no-traffic zone; we had a car to take our luggage to the apartment, and later got a ticket for it. Those pesky cameras are everywhere, so do beware if you have a car.
The place was a bit small for two of us over 10 days, and I think next time we'll look for a slightly larger place. But the Windows on Italy team is outstanding and we recommend them 100%. We have rented several times from them, in other apartments around Florence between 2000 and now. They have some amazing places. -

ManchesterComfort, convenience and great views - what more could you want?
Left on 11/11/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The lovely views of Santa Croce and the Florence rooftops from the sunny terrace leading from the delightful upstairs bedroom, the comfortable sitting room, well-equipped kitchen and modern bathroom made this a very pleasant place to stay. It's well within a ten minute walk of most of the things you want to see and do in this wonderful city, and there is a delicatessen almost on the doorstep for self-caterers. The Via Neri shops are only a few minutes' walk away.
If you are arriving by car, Alessandro from Windows on Italy is a mine of information on parking, and anna is a great help with any computer problems! All the staff were helpful and friendly, and any minor glitches were ironed out very quickly and efficiently. We would definitely recommend this apartment.Response from Windows on Italy - 11/14/2011

Property review
Atlanta GA, USAProperty review
Left on 10/11/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Location, first and foremost was the best feature of the apartment. The apartment was "cozy" and well equipped. The balcony didn't provide much of a view but was good for relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine. The staff at Windows on Italy were responsive, courteous, friendly and addressed any issues in a timely manner. The person demonstating the on site amenities of the apartment was late and rushed, not impressive. His colleagues more than made up for his inadequacies. We had a small incident, the management team took care of everything. Anna, Adelaide and adrian were very gracious and did a great job on making certain our stay was comfortable. Again, the best feature about the apartment was the location. Everything was accessible. We would certainly recommend this location and apartment to anyone.

Kitchener, Canadabest location in Florence
Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We loved the location of this apartment - steps from many excellent restaurants, gelato, grocery store, and Santa Croce. A 10 minute walk to the Duomo, Uffizzi, and many other attractions. The apartment was small but very comfortable. Having a separate bed upstairs for the kids was perfect. The outdoor terrace was also lovely. It was quite noisy in the evenings (restaurant traffic) and early mornings (many noisy birds just outside the window) but it was no worse than one would expect in the city centre.

Charlotte, NCGreatest Stay in Firenze
Left on 05/20/2011 for a stay in December 2010
I was fortunate enough to spend 5 months in Florence and came across Windows on Italy in a frantic search for a place to live. Not knowing anything about the city, where to live, or what to expect from an internet source, Adrian Lemasson, my WOI agent, did an amazing job in listening to my needs to find me a perfect place to live. Bellosguardo could not have been more perfect. Its location is right next to Santa Croce where you can see the top of the steeple and lights of the piazza from your balcony at night all while listening to the saxophonists and accordian players at the restaurants below. The Duomo, Uffizi, and the famous Ponte Vecchio are an easy 5-10 min walk away, you are literally in the heart of everything and you have the famous Vivoli Gelateria right across from your door step. Accommodations were all that was expected and more. Fresh linens and clean home weekly by the sweetest house keepers, Great size for 2-4 people, and the agents at Windows on Italy are more than welcome to help you with any and all needs. Living here made my experience of Firenze more like a home and I couldn't have been more pleased with everything!

Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at Bellosguardo C.A.V. for only two nights and loved everything about it. Two couples were in our party and no one felt slighted on the bedrooms since the upstairs bedroom with twin beds had the gorgeous terrace and view and the downstairs room had the lovely big bed and quick access to bath. The stairs were a work-out, but the lift was available when needed. Our only difficulty was with the keys and locks...but we eventually figured them out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great use of space. Door to stairway was shut. The only access was the elevator. Would have preferred to have a fixed shower too. But the location was great. We walked everywhere and could not have picked a better area. Right in Santa Croce!! Baldovina is a great restaurant right in Santa Croce.

"Great location, relaxing atmosphere in apartment. The location is really great. I would recommend more toilet paper for the duration of our stay and for the number of people and also a kettle and a toaster would have been nice!"

Thanks for your comments about the apartment. A kettle is now part of the standard amenities in most apartments. We are also working on getting toasters for the apartments too! We really hope to hear from you again soon!

Absolutely Wonderful
Left on 03/26/2010 for a stay in March 2006
The location was great and the furnishings and rooms were very comfortable and the terrace was wonderful. Check in with Sara was great - she was so informative and friendly. Only slightly negative was the lack of A/C on very hot days especially in the top bedroom - only one portable unit in bedrooms!

"Lovely historical archictecture just the traditional feel I wanted and was the perfect location for bars, restaurants, sightseeing and the walk to the station was fine. The Windows On Italy staff was excellent too. You need some plants for the terrace though! The Osteria Caffe Italiano is excellent! Thank you for everything. I would use your service again and rent this apartment again."

Mexico City, MexicoHad a great time!
Left on 01/14/2010 for a stay in October 2009
I was treated very good by all who work at windows on Italy, and they were really fast at getting me options of apartments, finding me exactly what I was looking for.
I liked a lot the apartment, the size was great and it had almost everything I needed (there wasn't a toaster and a DVD player). I had only one problem with the water pipes, but Windows on Italy acted fast and it was solved!
The location is perfect, close to everything you need, also is in the heart of Firenze, near to the Duomo, Santa Croce is one minute away, and it is very easy to get there. The only bad thing is that sometimes at night you can hear people shouting or laughing, but that happens in all the streets.
It was my home for four months, and had a great time!

Hola Anna,
Thank you so much for sending us your comments. It was a pleasure to have met you - you were such a nice person - and I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Florence. I really do hope that you will come back one day. Don't forget to bring your lovely bike helmet!!! Regarding the noise issue - unfortunately being in the centre of Florence as you said it is hard to escape the noise all the time but then again it is only people noise...the street where the apartment is located is practically traffic free.
Un saludo!!

London and FrandfurtGreat location in a great area that feels local rather than tour
Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in January 2010
Service initially very good and the office even offered to hold our luggage
until check in time.
Area is good with good local shops and S. Ambrogio market
Flat has a lot of charm. Not large but quite enough for 2 girls travelling
together. Furnishings are getting 'tired', seating comfortable. Larger bed
soft and springy ( not good for my friend's back). Bathroom OK. Grill did
not work in the kitchen. Be aware that internet is by fixed cable only so no
wireless connection. Small lift direct to the apartment. Entrance to main
building is impressive and very 'palazzo'. Great restaurant just underneath
Osteria Caffe Italiano. Good information provided in the flat on everything
you could need to know.
Charming top room but no door and in the summer the view from the
terrace of a small part of S.Croce I am sure would be delightful.
Got up early and sorted for the check up but Alice did not turn up!
Response from Windows on Italy - 01/29/2010
Manager
Thank you for your comments. We have actually informed the owner about some of the furnishings in the apartment and we hope to get a few new things for the end of the year. As you said unfortunately there is no wireless connection in the apartment but as you know the apartment is not promoted to have wireless internet at the moment. This is another issue we are working on with the owner. Since we have 8 apartments in that building we are looking for a way to provide each apartment with a wireless connection which is much better - and does not prevent our clients from sitting exactly where the internet connection is which I realise can be quite annoying!! I am not sure what happened for Check Out but I am sure there is an explanation on what happened to Alice. I do hope you return to Florence and be our guests once more.
Best Regards
Anna Rostron
