TorontoGreat location, clean, safe and great price.

We loved our experience at affresco. I was a little leary of renting apartments as this was my first experience but Enrica was warm and genuine and we had a great time at her place. The apartment was very clean and modern and the perfect size for my wife and I.
If and when we return to Florence we will definitely stay there again. -

Denver, COPerfect location, sparkling clean, and lots of room
Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We loved our stay in the affresco apartment. We stayed here for 5 nights in early November. The apartment was in a great location right around the corner from several modestly priced but good restaurants. There's a small grocery store and a bakery nearby so you can get fresh pastries for your breakfast.
The staircase leading up to the loft is fine, but take care to hold the handrail if you need to use the loo in the middle of the night because it is quite dark and the staircase is a bit of an odd arrangement. The ceiling is the original 15th century ceiling that has been restored.
The apartment was sparking clean and the bathroom was large (compared to other apartments we've rented in Europe.) The washer and dryer was one floor up and worked perfectly which allowed us to pack fewer clothes. Enrica always responded quickly through email and it was quite easy to secure the rental and obtain the key upon our arrival.
My only complaint was that you could hear others coming in and out of the building at various times during the night. This is not the fault of the apartment but rather of the building. We heard almost no street noise except on Halloween night.
We would definitely stay here again if we come to Florence.

Everything was perfect except that there wasn't enough supplies for our stay. There was barely enough toilet paper for two days (and we were staying for four days) and only enough blankets for two people (and there were three of us). Other than these inconveniences, everything was super organized.

Chicago IllinoisThe Fabulous Find in Florence
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We were thrilled with our 4 day stay at affresco in Florence during June 2012. It is a reasonably priced apartment that has a lofted bedroom, sleeper sofa on the main floor, kitchenette (frig, stove top, sink, dishes, pots/pans etc), modern bathroom, air conditioning, free washer and dryer, tv, free wi-fi. We are a family of 3 adults and it accommodated us well. It is in a charming old building in the center of the town on a safe street with many tourists near by. It is walking distance from all tourist sites in Florence and is less than a 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella Station for trains, buses and cabs to airport and other places. The area is surrounded by restaurants, fast food cafes and there are a couple of grocery stores within 5 minutes of the apartment. You can't do better than this for location, value, and conveniences.
The owner Enrica, a Florence native, was very pleasant and helpful both before we arrived (via emails) and once we were there. She offered advice and suggestions whenever we needed them. She was easy to contact by email or phone if we needed help with something once in Florence. In short, she was great!
This was a perfect place for a single, couple or family of 3. The only folks who might find this inappropriate for them might be those who have trouble climbing stairs since the bedroom that sleeps 2 people is up the staircase.
Fabulous find in Florence. I hope you go there and enjoy your stay as much as we did. -

We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights, this is a beautiful renovation. All the furnishing / bathroom is lovely. Communication with the owner (Enrica, charming lady) was excellent, and although she couldn't be there when we arrived, she organised a person to let us in and show us around as she (Enrica) was out of town. It's an easy walk from the train station and there are lots of local bakery / cafe / restaurants. Some nights it's a bit noisy, but I'm a light sleeper and used ear plugs and had no problems. Aircon was lovely, when we were there it was 34 deg C in the shade outside, cool inside, an excellent choice of a place to stay

Affresco is a great little apartment with almost all of the comforts of home. Pretty much everything you could possible want. My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights in Florence and were very happy to call affresco home for those few days. The small kitchenette is great after eating in restaurants for several days in a row. The bathroom was immaculate and a nice size. I understand that Enrica had just had it upgraded and it was wonderful. The building has a washer and dryer that we utilized several times during our stay since we packed very light. Everything that we wanted to see was a short walk and we found some wonderful restaurants by just wandering in the area. I would highly recommend affresco to anyone who is looking for more than just a bedroom.

Left on 11/19/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We were very pleased with the apartment, our hostess, and the location of the apartment. However, the central location does mean that we had a lot of street noise at night. If you're a light sleeper this could be a problem - or you could bring earplugs!
We loved the freedom of having our own flat close to everything we wanted to visit as Florence is definitely a walking-friendly city. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to be in the centre of things. -

CanberraOur Haven in Firenze
Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We stayed six nights in this delightful little flat. After a hard day's climbing towers, walking around museums or dealing with Italian traffic this flat was our comfortable and quiet haven.
We found it clean and charming. The kitchen is of course small but sufficient to prepare a meal, as we did on a few nights. The osteria next door is quite good too. There is a washing machine in a store room on the next floor - which is also very useful.
Enrica was very helpful and explained everything to us. When we were cold, she provided extra blankets.
The location is great: 10 minutes walk south from the main railway station. The cathedral, Uffizzi and many museums are a short walk away. Groceries, bakery, butcher, etc can all be found within a block or two. There is a supermarket near the train station - but ask for directions if you are not familiar with the city.
While the street can get noisy at night and there is a motorbike parking spot out the front, we found the noise was not enough to bother us - even though we are light sleepers.
I heartily recommend this flat for couples who don't mind climbing a few steps. -

Melbourne, AustraliaThe Best of Florence on Your Doorstep
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My daughter and I stayed at the affresco appartment in the heart of Florence in august and would thoroughly recommend this sensationally located facility. Situated within walking distance to Ponte Vecchico, the Duomo and attractions such as the San Lorenzo Markets and the Galleria accademia the apartment was ideal. The apartment itself was clean and well appointed with everything we needed including airconditioning which was a welcome relief to the summer heat. Enrica the owner was a delight to liaise with and made sure, even though she was away on holiday, that our arrival on a public holiday was not marred by closed supermarkets by stocking the fridge and cupboards with tea, coffee, milk, biscotti, and fruit. The apartment was in a secure building and in an area where, as two females travelling alone we felt very safe. The only drawback was the plethora of designer clothes and jewelery shops tempting us with fabulous items and alas no unlimited credit card!

we stayed for a wonderful week at affresco apartments which is a short walk from the station. from the moment we were greeted at the door by Enrica until she farewelled us on our last day, everything about affresco was exceptional. It's location is central to shops and restaurants and most tourist sights are within walking distance. The apartment is clean and comfortable with all amenities needed for a short or long stay, we even had access to a washing machine and dryer in the building. The only negative would be the tiny shower but everything else was great. We would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed staying here. Enrica was very friendly and helpful and it was no problem that we had a late arriving flight.
The location really is great. So easy to pop back to drop off bags of shopping or just take a break from walking around. It's also an easy walk to the main train and bus station.
Highly recommended. -

Enrica's apartment in Florence was an absolute delight. Located a quick walk from the train station towards the center of town, it was extremely convenient and safe. It was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable so we awoke well rested. The air conditioning worked perfectly as did the wireless internet. The efficient kitchen let us prepare a few meals at home which was a welcome break from eating out. Enrica herself is kind and welcoming. She even allowed us to store our bags for free as we toured the city on the day we checked out. I would love to stay in her clean and comfortable apartment next time we visit Florence.

Left on 06/26/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The apartment is basic, but what is lacks in kitchen utensils and TV channels is more than makes up for in it's location, price, and service. I would, however, recommend it for young couples like ourselves and less for a family with a child or for older couples (Steep climb to the sleeping gallery)
Thank you Enrica! -

It is rather for one family, because the apartment is not big at all. Overall it was very good, nice and clean. The shower cabin is really small, but you still can take a shower.Great location near the train and bus stations, within short walking distance from museums and galleries.

Karachi, PakistanA charming flat in the centre of town
Left on 04/21/2011 for a stay in June 2010
My wife, my 2-yrs old daughter and I stayed at this charming flat in June 2010. Our main priority was location because we wanted to walk to all the museums and sights. In our three week tour of Italy, this was - overall - the nicest place we stayed.
For this kind of money in the centre of Florence, you'd have to put up in tiny dorm-style rooms in a rubbish hotel. Much better staying in a far more spacious flat with real character and personality.
Location:
We arrived and left by train and it was easily walkable (5 minutes) despite luggage and push-chair. I was slightly concerned about its proximity to the station (somehow train stations seem to attract all kinds of seedy characters) and the fact that it is on a narrow (and somewhat dimly lit) lane but it felt safe enough. There's a nice park/square (with a few bars and cafes) about 2-min walk from the flat (towards the train station) where our daughter enjoyed chasing pigeons. One afternoon there was some parade/fashion-show/concert there but I don't know if that's a regular affair. There's also a supermarket halfway between the flat and the station, so it waseasy to stock up with groceries and other necessities.
In our entire stay, we took a taxi once (to Piazzale Michelangelo). Everywhere else, we walked. Almost all the sights, museums, churches, nice squares, restaurants, cafes are within 5 to 15 minutes walking distance of the flat. So if you're in Florence for the 'Centro Storico', you this place is perfect.
Flat:
Its incredible renting out a flat in a 16th century building. In many cities with a less preserved history, the building would have been a museum. The flat has these ancient exposed wooden beams and its much nicer than staying in plastic hotel rooms. We liked that it was on two levels (living-room and bathroom below and bedroom above). The place was well-maintained and clean. The bathroom was a bit cramped but clean. Air-conditioning worked fine.
The flat could be improved upon , though.
1) The stairs leading up to the bedroom need a railing to hold on to. It's unsafe for children (or for adults who've had one too many). We had to constantly supervise our daughter to make sure she didn't attempt an ascent or descent.
2) The hallway when you enter the building needs a light switch in a more intuitive location (immediately adjacent to the door) so you don't have to stumble around in a pitch dark corridor trying to locate the switch.
3) The lift is tiny. Its a squeeze for even two so we had trouble with our daughter's push-chair. Better than none at all though (which is the norm in Italy) and I guess this is beyond Enrica's (the landlord) control.
4) The flat could be somewhat better stocked with pots, pans, plates, cutlery and other small necessities so as to build on that 'homey' feeling. One of the nicest things about renting a flat is being able to cook your own meals if you want. However, its a pain if you have to go out and buy all the essentials for even a short stay. This is not to say that the flat was completely bare, but it did feel inadequately stocked.
5) Finally, the flat could really do with a washing machine. Its certainly big enough to have one and would be really convenient. At least at the time we stayed, there was no washing machine in the entire building. My wife walked down the street to the laundromat (to be fair, only about 100-200 metres) and got totally soaked in a sudden shower.
Landlord:
Enrica was lovely and very helpful. Am not much of review writer actually but because she was so nice I promised to write this one (apologies for the delay). -

Great location for this compact flat in the heart of Florence. Short distance to all the sites. (5-10 min walk for most) Good local restaurants and groceries. Enrica was very helpful upon check in. The building has a washing machine as well as an elevator, which is unusual for Florence. Would stay here again for sure!
