We'd like to propose day tours to various locations in Tuscany in a small van bus driven by Francesco that seats 6/8 people. The places you can visit include, Il Casentino, the land of thirteenth-century castles and the world famous Chianti Classico wine-growing area between Florence and Siena with its picturesque rolling hills covered with vineyards and cellars. We can stop off in some of the handicraft workshops where the skill and craftsmanship are the basis of the creativity of everyday items, and also visit the seventeenth-century mills where flour is still ground with the old millstones. This is where honey, royal jelly, fenugreek, salamis and hams are produced without any chemical additives by small local industries. At the Monastery of Camaldoli the monks still produce liqueurs, natural herbs and cosmetics in the antique apothecary dating back to 1100. Not to be missed, the National Reserve of the Casentino Forest which is one of the oldest protected parks in Europe. Brunelleschi's dome on the Cathedral of Florence was made out of timber from this forest in the fourteenth-fifteenth century. Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra are but a few of the splendid destinations offering fascinating day trips around Florence. Then there's also the Tuscan coastline that faces onto the Tyrrhenian sea, from Forte dei Marmi to the Cinque Terre or down to the National Uccellina Park and the beautiful Argentario coast. We are able to plan all sorts of unforgettable trips around Tuscany for small groups or families so if you are interested, when making your booking just let us know what you would like to see and we'll send you a quotation together with the suggested itinerary

Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Hubby and I stayed here for three nights over Easter. Lorenzo is the most helpful and nicest person you can ever hope to meet. He just wanted us to have a brilliant stay and we did! Weather didn't allow us to take full advantage of the massive patio but being a few feet from the Duomo, thus absolutely centrally located was a blessing. We could pop into our room anytime to drop purchases off or have a little break. bed was comfortable and the free wifi was so helpful. It was really nice to have a little kitchen, all we used was the coffee maker, fridge and plates, which was perfect for those nights when you are so tired a take away pizza and olives are all you need. We were very lucky to park our rental car for free the entire stay at piazzale Michelangelo. A solid 25 min walk away, but super views of Florence, turned out many people go there just to take photos. The apartment is very clean and there are lots of fluffy towels. Lorenzo was so helpful even in advance of our arrival with directions and advice. He cares so much but not intrusive at all. Didn't see him again until we were leaving, but I know if we needed him he was a kind phone call away.
If we ever go back to Florence, we will book well in advance to ensure we get to stay here again. You will not regret your stay. Absolutely perfect!!! -

Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in May 2012
I searched high and low for a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable and convenient place in Florence (no short order) and this little apartment was perfect. It was literally steps from the duomo, and incredibly conveniently located to just about everything else. We didn't so much as wish for a car or bike or taxi for a single thing the entire week (except the day trip - which was amazing! Very intimate and off-the-beaten-path feeling). The only very very slight thing I would mention is that it truly is at the heart of things, so it was occasionally a little loud (there was live music outside the Duomo one night). If you are super sensitive to noise, it is good to know. However, my husband is a very light sleeper and he had no problems, so I think it is just personal preference. I don't even consider it a negative because we slept like babies the whole time - even during naps in the middle of the day! On top of all that, Lorenzo and Susan were great, as was the guide for the day trip (Frederico?) All three were helpful and accommodating and knowledgeable and so happy to show off their town! I know it seems too good to be true, but it is not - this place is clean, well priced, conveniently located to everything, nicely stocked/furnished, cozy and charming (there were books everywhere!). We absolutely loved everything about the place. If we ever make it back to Florence, I won't even look anywhere else - this is my place.

Very Nice apartment in Excellent Location
We stayed here for three weeks in January and early February and were
very happy with our stay.
The entrance to the apartment building is right on Via Calzaiouli, the
main street in Florence which is pedestrian traffic only and fantastic for strolling.
It is in a great location and we could walk to everything in the center in just a few minutes. The Duomo is only 50 yards or so away. The apartment has a big terrace. It was nice to
be outside on the terrace and listen to all of the church bells. The location also felt
very secure, it was nice to not have to worry about ourselves or our belongings/valuables.
Lorenzo, the landlord, was great. He showed us around town and pointed
out some great places for gelato. He called a restaurant for us and
helped us make a dinner reservation. He and his wife even invited us
over for dinner one night, and one afternoon he took us on a drive
around the Casentino region outside of Florence. You couldn’t ask for
a more genuine and nice landlord.
The apartment was very clean. It has a small kitchen area and we
cooked dinner at home about half the time to save some money on eating
out. It was nice to have a washing machine to do some laundry too. The
bathroom was pretty modern and everything worked. As we visited in
Janurary, we can say the heating system worked well too.
Staying in an apartment like this makes you feel much more at home
than in a hotel room. You feel more like you are actually living there
rather than just being on vacation. We’d highly recommend it and will
try to stay there again on our next trip to Florence.Response from lorenzo - 03/25/2013

Ssssshhhh - Il Casentino is our special secret! Now everyone will want to go there! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay - and we couldn't agree more; being in a an apartment makes you feel a little bit more like a resident and less like a visiting tourist - which is a wonderful way to pass a holiday. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, and perhaps we might meet again one day!

This is my third stay in one of Lorenzo's wonderful apartments, and I can't wait to go again! The location is fantastic - close to everything that anyone could want to see and do. The apartment is lovely, very well-equipped, and the terrace is a great bonus. Lorenzo is a fantastic "host," making certain that your every wish is granted. He offers excellent suggestions for restaurants and can make many other arrangements for transportation or excursions. There is no better place to enjoy a Tuscan holiday.

Hi, my name is Marie , I live in Gothenburg Sweden. Like many others I´ve "fallen in love" with Florence which I think is the most beautiful town in the world !
I´ve been in Florence 15 times now and whenever I come to Florence I stay in one of the "Michelozzo apartments". These apartments are situated right in the center of Florence just a few "footsteps" from Il Duomo. The apartments are just perfect close to everything´. Each one has a big terrace where you can enjoy the sun, having a nice breakfast or a glass of wine ! Absolutely wonderful !! The owner - Signore Lorenzo Clemente - is always very nice/kind and helpful. He treats you like one of his own family ! I can truly recommend these apartments from all my heart ! //MarieResponse from lorenzo - 12/07/2012

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. You are right - the outside balcony areas are great - we are lucky enough in Florence to enjoy fairly mild temperatures even in October and November, so they can plenty of use in the Autumn too. On holiday sitting and relaxing a litlle is as important and running around seeing the sights!

Left on 11/27/2012 for a stay in September 2012
I stayed in this apartment on a girls trip with two other ladies for 3 nights in September 2012 and we were all extremely impressed with the accommodations. The space is large, open, and inviting. With a king size bed and a rollaway set up, there was still room to mingle by the couch and dining area. The high ceilings added to the spaciousness. The terrace was by far our favorite part - overlooking the shopping streets and restaurants of Florence. It was large and perfect for morning coffee and wine in the evenings. The kitchen was cozy and fully functional, though we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked in there. There is a washing machine in a room off of the kitchen, but no dryer. The bathroom is typical European size with a standing shower and immaculate. The entry into the apartment is absolutely adorable - well decorated and very homely. Your are literally steps from the Duomo.
Lorenzo was wonderful to work with, always prompt and full of great information and helpful hints.
My only recommendations for improvement would be to extend the wifi to the terrace area (works great but only inside of the apartment) and maybe add some lights to the terrace for ambience. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely rent here again upon all future visits to Florence.Response from lorenzo - 12/07/2012

This was our second stay renting an apartment from Lorenzo. Due some unforeseen issues with our apartment(heating repairs) just prior to our arrival this past September we ended up being offered three separate apartments for the same price. Lorenzo even paid for coffee and a light breakfast every morning at a cafe a couple of blocks away for all of us. Our apartment with the terrace shown was lovely. The four of us would meet for afternoon drinks daily and enjoyed a couple of meals here too. Although small, the apartment is well equipped for a couple. You can't beat the location to all the best sights and restaurants in Florence.
We will return!

Left on 10/23/2012 for a stay in October 2012
First time visitors to this enchanted city would be wise to contact our favorite landlord, Lorenzo Clemente and arrange to stay in one of his charming apartments. From the time of booking our trip until the very last minutes in Florence, Lorenzo helped to make our stay effortless and most enjoyable. A short walk from the SMN train terminal, Lorenzo met us in front of the apartment Michelozzo and instantly made us feel comfortable and welcome. The apartment is spacious and charming as well as secluded in an otherwise public building. Security was never a concern having to enter 3 locked doors and a private corridor before reaching the apartment itself. We especially enjoyed the private terrace which adjoined our apartment. Each apartment in this building has it's own private terrace. This apartment is not secluded but rather in the heart of the city in the shadows of the Duomo. If you want to feel the heartbeat and pulse of the city this is the place to stay. We also highly recommend taking a tour with Lorenzo into Cosentino and visit his some of his many friends in a wide range of industries; from pottery manufacturing to the milling of flour that employs the same 17th century methods today, you will see firsthand the craft and industry of the local region. Overall this is simply a splendid place to stay in Florence; centrally located and just a superb apartment to stay in.
-Response from lorenzo - 12/07/2012

You are right - you don't get much more central than these apartments. unless you actually stayed in the Duomo itself, Our trip into the Castentino was really special. Must people who come to Tuscany want to rush out in the Chianti area, which we think is now over-touristy and spoilt a little. The Casentino is stunningly beautiful and no-one knows about it. Ssshhh! Perhaps you might seek me out on facebook (lorenzo casentino clemente) - on my page we chat about the Casentino a lot! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment here.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights. The apartment is 40 paces from the Duomo, and two blocks from the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio. We were able to walk everywhere. Lorenzo is incredibly well organized, speaks excellent English, and spent quite a bit of time with us when we checked in. He has a notebook in the apartment which answers about every question you could think of. The apartment is comfortable and spacious, with a terrace overlooking the street. It is next to the bell tower, so you will here the Duomo bells every morning just before 7 am. There is a washing machine, which is convenient for longer stays. Lorenzo also helped us with the cab to the train station, and made sure that we departed with no difficulty.

We have just returned from a week staying in this apartment and have nothing but praise for the whole experience. Lorenzo was very helpful and a charming person. The apartment itself had everything that was needed and was very well thought out. It was clean and well maintained. The best thing was the large terrace which meant that we could eat all meals outside and relax whilst taking in the atmosphere all around. The location was very central and perfect for any sightseeing. We would certainly have no hesitation in staying there again and, in fact, look forward to it.

We have stayed in one of these apartments (there are four) on three separate occasions over the past couple of years. They really do represent a better alternative to a standard hotel room in central Florence: (i) they are remarkably well located, just round the corner from the Duomo; (ii) they're spacious, and have sitting/eating areas too; (ii) you get a kitchen/kitchenette (including a fridge); (iii) free wi-fi; (iv) air-conditioned (much-needed in the middle of summer); and (v) each apartment has a separate large furnished terrace, surrounded by greenery - a little warm in the height of summer, admittedly, but a huge bonus nonetheless, particularly when you're returning from a day's sight-seeing and want some peace/space.

Arrived 1st June by train from Rome. We phoned Lorenzo from the station and arranged to meet 30 mins later. A ten minute walk gets you straight to Michelozzo where he was waiting for us. The apartment is big and the balcony even bigger ... all good. Lift and easy access to the accommodation. Ask Lorenzo to show you where the ironing board is! We thought the Duormo would keep us awake but it didn't, but don't forget you are in the very heart of the city! If you go in summer get tickets in advance for the accademia (home to Michelangelo's David) or expect to queue for hours even first thing in the morning!! If you fancy a walk with fabulous views walk over the Ponte Vecchio (the glitz bridge!) and turn left. Walk along the bank of the river up to Piazzale Michelangelo for stunning postcard views of the city. We will go back to Michelozzo when we revisit Florence. Lovely accommodation and lovely Lorenzo!

The apartment was beyond our expectations. Loved the location. Easy to get around the city and having the early mornings and the late evenings to ourselves when the city was quiet was a treat. Overall the apartment had everything you would need, very comfortable but having the amazing terrace (herbs and flowers everywhere) was a bonus you couldn't beat. Lorenzo was the best! Although Francesco was pretty awesome too. Took a tour to Casentino with the two of them which turned out to be one of our favorite days. Really got to see a side of Italy we would not have experienced without them. Such a great day! Lorenzo was so helpful the entire time with such things as parking, telephones and suggestions for things to see or places to eat. Good thing was he was there when you needed him, but not when you didn't. Really great vacation and we would definitely stay there again.

This review is not about the apartment, but rather about the people who maintain and rent it. My wife and I had booked and put a deposit down for 5 nights here in September 2012. About 2 days after placing the deposit, we had a change of heart and decided to stay in a hotel instead. This was nothing against the apartment, we just decided a hotel was more our speed.
Within a few days of notifying Susan and Lorenzo of our change of plans, our deposit was returned. All without any solicitation from us. Very classy. If this is indicative of the care and thoughtfulness that is put into the apartment/rental experience then one can't really go wrong here. -

I have rented this apartment in Florence a few times.
Lorenzo is wonderful to work with. He is very accommodating and helpful. He is a good resource of information.
The apartment is comfortable, clean, and in the heart of the city center. My favorite part of the apartment is the huge terrace lined with blooming jasmine and other flowers. Outdoor space is so important to me. The ample balcony (bigger than many apartments) is spacious enough for entertaining. If you want to feel like you live in Florence and not just passing through, I highly recommend your renting this apartment. You come home to rest your weary feet after sightseeing, shopping, walking the cobble-stoned streets, and put your feet up while relaxing with a glass of wine on the terrace and listen to the wonderful bells from the Duomo as you pinch yourself wondering if it's all a dream. -

This beautiful apartment made my stay in florence even more perfect! The location is unbeatable, the view is breathtaking and the apartment is absolutely charming!
Lorenzo is fantastic! He goes above and beyond to make sure that your stay in Florence is perfect. He's honest, dependable, organized, cheerful, and very quick to reply with any concerns or questions you may have. I felt at ease throughout my entire stay. He is very thorough and provides a detailed booklet outlining all that you need to know about Florence. He is also more than willing to help you plan trips to see the rest of Italy- he even offered assistance in planning my trip to France! He has a wide variety of apartments, each clean, organized, spacious, rich in character and located in the heart of the city.
This apartment in particular is incredibly spacious, bright and comfortable. The high ceilings and large beautiful window and door give you plenty of sunlight and fresh air. The room is tastefully decorated and fully equipped with a plasma TV, radio, kitchenette, hair dryer, extra blankets, a sofa-bed, microwave, books about Florence, and more! There is also an option for high speed wireless internet which worked out perfectly for me. My favorite part of this apartment has to be the spectacular terrace! It gives you an incredible view of one of Florence's prettiest streets and is something everyone should experience if you are visiting Italy.
For a short, or even long term stay, I really recommend staying in one of the apartments Lorenzo has to offer. They are all located steps away from the best museums, churches, fashion boutiques, food and leather markets, restaurants and cafes, and more. If you are visiting Italy, don't miss out on this experience, it will make your trip even more special!

The photos published on Trip advisor are very accurate, so I did not add my own. The apartment is lovely and quaint. It is in a 500 year old building, and is situated 3 doors from the Il Duomo entrance. If you like being in the middle of the action, this is the place for you. You are a 5 minute walk to the Uffizzi Gallery, 15 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio, 5 minutes to a huge open market, and 10 minutes to the statue of David, not to mention the hundreds of trattorias within 5 minutes. The only downside to this is that it can get noisy at night. The terrace is so charming. Make time to sit and enjoy it. The owner, Lorenzo, is so gracious and helpul. He was very helpful on several occasions: restaurant recommendations, shopping recommendations, internet help, and calling a taxi for our trip to the airport.
One of the highlights of the trip was a private tour of the Chianti region. There is a book in the apartment with helpful information, and a few tour guides were recommended. We booked a day tour with Francesco, who took 3 of us all over Chianti in a mini van. He stopped at 3 villages and we walked, shopped and ate while he patiently waited for us. He was a knowledgable, very gracious, and a safe driver. I highly recommend him. -

The well stocked kitchen allows you to take advantage of the local markets and create your own Florentine oasis. The manager, Lorenzo is accommodating, knowledgable and accessible. If you're looking for five star luxury, look elsewhere. But you'd be missing out on a truly exceptional stay.

Sydney, AustraliaFantastic locatiion, helpful friendly host, spacious but quirky

The best thing about this property is the location, very close to the central tourist area, no need for a car. We stayed 3 nights and it was very noisy one night but that is to be expected in such a central location. We just closed the doors. I can't comment on the air conditioning because we didn't need it. The apartment is basically one big room with a tiny kitchen and a laundry/junk storage room off to one side. The bathroom has a quirky layout but all the things you need. A big plus is the huge, very pretty terrace, which adds to the impression of spaciousness. It was nice to enjoy breakfast and evening snacks outside. The kitchen was small with adequate but very basic equipment. During our stay the fridge didn't work very well and thus we couldn't rely on it to keep our food fresh. Lorenzo was very friendly and helpful. His English was great. He provided a big folder of information to help us during our stay and the free wi fi was fantastic bonus. Don't expect a sleek luxurious apartment but all-in-all, given the location, it was excellent value for money.

Baton Rouge, LouisianaGreat Location and View

This apt. is great for location and view. You can throw a baseball and hit the front door of the Domo. Biggest drawback to that is it's somewhat noisy late at night and early am due to worker activity on the Domo Square. Since it was Spring we had balcony (that's nice!) doors open for the cool breeze. However, even with doors closed was still somewhat loud. That is the only drawback to the place honestly. Lorenzo and his wife are charming and nice and the room has books with great restaurant and activity recommendations. It is a great value.

Somerville, Massachusetts, USAGreat apartment in the heart of Florence!
Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My husband and I spent three nights in Florence on our recent trip to Italy and were lucky enough to find this beautiful and spacious apartment for our accommodations. The location is perfect - just a few hundred feet from the steps of the Duomo and the gated entrance and multiple keys and locks made the stay feel very safe. The apartment had everything we needed - from kitchen utensils and appliances, to a hair drier in the bathroom. Our favorie part was the deck that over looked a side-street off of one of the main shopping areas where we loved to people watch over a glass of wine (which is also available for purchase in the apartment at a very reasonable price). If we do ever return to Florence, we will definitely be calling Lorenz and hope to stay here!

Austin, TexasOur home in Florence

Walk out the front door, glance to your left and there's the Duomo. What a perfect option for an extended stay in Florence. The property manager Lorenzo Clemente does an outstanding job in welcoming guests and helping orient them to the city. The terrace is a big plus and more than doubles the 'living' space of the apartment. This is our second stay in this superb location, first in the winter and most recently in the summer. Both times, the apartment was comfortable and the terrace enjoyable.

Florence, ItalyOur dream holiday
Left on 05/30/2011 for a stay in September 2010
We are Ian and Carol Jones who have stayed in Florence for the fourth time now. We have stayed in this wonderful apartment with a large sunny terrace and have already booked for September this year for two weeks.
The apartment had everything we required and was very comfortable with lovely furnishings.
It was very accessible to the shops and the rest of the city and good access to a bus service around the locality.
The local markets were excellent with a great selection of fresh produce. We found the local Florentines to be very friendly and helpful. The apartment was in a great location centralised for everything especially on foot.
All in all the holiday was fantastic -

Sydney, AustraliaA week in Florence
Left on 05/03/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This apartment is small, with a very basic kitchen. However the large terrace makes it much more pleasant because it provides a private outdoor space. It is also in the centre of Florence, half a block from the Duomo, and so you are able to walk everywhere. Marco met us as arranged and was there very promptly when we were leaving.

Thanks to Lorenzo for his attentiveness to us: that included retrieving our luggage from the airport, meeting with us and answering all our questions, leaving a 3-ring notebook with lots of information, helping us with internet connection, and making sure that we got to the airport in a timely manner when we were leaving. Lorenzo pointed out and labeled places on our map in order to orient us to the city.
The apartment was in a lovely secure building. We loved the patio. It made the apartment seem very large. The cooking area was perfectly adequate for us and it had lots of good cookware and dishes. The whole apartment was sparkling clean.
