MichiganThe walkable city
Left on 12/13/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We rented the Nerli Garden apartment for a nine day stay in Florence. The apartment is a block off of the river at the fourth or fifth bridge. This made it quite easy for navitage. The apartment itself had two large bedrooms and very nice bathrooms. There was a washer but not a dryer, which would have been nice. The apartment had internet. I had brought a vonage phone modem with to do Voip while we were there, but the router is in the hall with only one outlet in the area not allowing the other devices to plug in. I found the technology aspect as well as the power adapters to the biggest downfall. There were one converters there. I purchased one at the airport but it was only a 110V low amp type for like a phone charger. I used the converter that was with the blow dryer in the bathroom and assumed since they were together they would work. I used my own blow dryer and burndt it up. I realize the rental agency would have converters running away all the time with renters taking them accidently, but there are not Radio Shacks there either. It would be nice if they either prepared you in the rental agreement for this or rent them to you at check-in. The television was the same situation. Nice flat screen tv but just a basic local service all in Italian. We didn't go there to watch tv but satellite tv would have been nice in the evening. The location of this apartment was excellent. There was a small bar/resteraunt called Flets right across our parking lot/piazza which we got to know people at and could hang out at on our way back. The building was secure. The outside area in the back was nice to have to sit in drink coffee in the morning. The landscaping could use some tlc, but was far better than being in an upstairs unit with no outside area. Overall I would rent here again. The technology/electronics issues were the only concern. With international travelers it may be wise for the owner to invest in vonage phone, internet, and directv to "upgrade".

San DiegoPositive experience with apartments Florence
Left on 10/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We rented this apartment in September of this year for almost a month. Couldn't be happier about it. The apartment had spacious rooms and was totally equipped for our needs. Well equipped kitchen, nice dining room with large table viewing the backyard (a well-sized garden actually, where we spent nice time in the warm evenings of Tuscany), internet wifi to keep in touch with our family in the us and plan our time more effectively, and felt very safe about leaving our belongings in the apartment when when we would be out.
A special thanks to the agency service. They helped us a lot by providing all the info we needed during the booking and before the check in. We used their concierge services by going on the wine tour in the Chianti (best experience ever), skipped the line of the two main museums by booking it in advance and had reservations in marvelous choices of restaurants. All that via email. The check in and check out are also worth mentioning. The whole staff speaks really good English and are always happy to help - which is something to value when you are travelling in most countries in Europe.
