There is a garage located just 30 metres from the property, ideal for those wanting to hire a car during their stay.
All the monuments are just within few minutes walking away. At few metres from the flat you have refine shops, grocery, bakery, the picturesque Mercato of San Lorenzo ..theatre, traditional florentine restaurants, fashion bars, cafes etc…
Travel:
The nearest airport is Amerigo Vespucci (Peretola) Airport in Florence about 25 minutes taxi ride . However, flights often tend to be cheaper to Pisa which is only an hour away by car. A cheap bus service (10 euros one way) connects Pisa airport to the heart of the city of Florence where it stops at the centrally located Santa Maria Novella train station. It's then 5 minute walk to the property. Car hire is not needed but there is a public garage 30 metres from the property if you do need somewhere to park a car.
Moreover, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo, Siena, Bologna and beaches are all within an hours' train or bus journey from Florence, and train and bus stations are with 5 minute walk from the property.

Mariangla is so sweet and she was a delight to work with, both before my stay and once I arrived in Florence. The flat is an easy walk to the train station as well as many sights including the Medici Chapel, San Lorenzo Market, Il Duomo, the arno River, Santa Croce and more.
The apartment was well equiped with spacious living quarters, free WiFi, large modern bathroom, full kitchen and a comfy bed. What more can you ask for?

We had a superb stay in Florence. Apartment is exactly as described on website, it is very well appointed and we really enjoyed the well equipped kitchen. We had a warm welcome including prosecco and Biscotti it was our wedding anniversary on the day we arrived. The location is excellent we walked everywhere, to and from bus station (bus from Pisa) and to all sites. I would note that the centre of Florence is lively and buzzing in evening so there is unavoidable noise that goes with convenience of central location. If we return to Florence we would certainly stay again. Recommend reading Guardian article how to do Tuscany on a budget and 10 pf the best cheap eats Florence.

My husband and I stayed in the Purple suite for 4 days the end of March. The suite is clean, bright and a great location to the city. Its a short 5 minute walk from the train station. We actually made dinner 2 nights because we were so close to the market with amazing food.
Mariangela was terrific from start to finish and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.
The only downside was that there some streetnoise at night but we turned on the fan (whitenoise) and couldn't hear a thing. We will be looking to book this again in September for my parents when they visit!Response from Mariangela Minervini - 04/05/2013

We stayed 3 nights in march. The apartment has a great localization, close to San Lorenzo market and church. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants and there is plenty of live around. The apartment is quite big, and has a nice modern decoration. It has a lot of natural light, although it rained a lot during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped as is the apartment in general (comfortable sofa, TV, DVD...). The bed is very comfortable. Mariangela is charming and helpful. We have no complain (perhaps, as it was cold weather, one more degree centigrade on the thermostat...). Very advisable!

We counted ourselves lucky to find at Marieangela's. She promptly answered our emails and questions. She was so warm and friendly and helpful when we arrived, even providing a welcome treat of delicious cantuccio from the nearby bakery. Even though we were four, she did not hesitate to make up the single cot to accomodate the teens.The suite is very stylish and contemporary and has windows facing in two directions. It is well appointed, clean and very reasonable. It is perfectly located close to train station, Mercato di San Lorenzo, leather market, Duomo and a short walk to Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Gallery. Would definitely recommend!

We received wonderful service from Mariangela from the time we made the booking, up to our departure from home, and then on the morning of our arrival. She was extremely responsive on email and phone.
She was waiting at the apartment for us, and she was 100% professional, kind and welcoming. The apt was clean and even ready early (which was good since our arrival was earlier than planned). We loved the apartment - the location (facing the Medici chapels and within 5 minutes walking from the train station), the reasonable price and the decor. It was very comfortable for our two teenage girls, my husband and me. There is so much closet space, and the kitchen is complete with everything you need. We cooked all of our dinners in; there is a dishwasher which makes clean up easy. There is also a clothes washer/dryer (it does best with small loads). The aprt just feels so nice and you can tell it is well maintained. The aprt building also is well managed and clean. I cannot recommend this apt enough!! Honestly we have rented apts around the world, and I can say with experience this is one of the best we have stayed in.
What I really appreciated was that Mariangela owns the apt, she clearly knows the apt inside and out; she knows where the closest market is, or bakery. Sometimes you can get stuck with a rental company where the person you are dealing with really does not know the apt intimately or the immediate area, and that is a real disappointment. This is not the case for this apt. I also liked that Mariangela was on-time, and immediately available when we needed her- once when the internet was only working on and off, we contacted her and she sent us a very speedy message on exactly what to do. The last wonderful thing about this rental is that all of the utilities work perfectly. There was heat, hot water in the shower whenever we needed it, etc. In some older European flats hot water and heating can be "iffy" but everything in this apartment is new.Response from Mariangela Minervini - 03/10/2013

We had seven nights here from New Years Eve. It was very comfortable, and quite well equipped. The fantastic central location makes it subject to a bit of street noise at night, but nothing can beat being able to walk everywhere, or pick up tours or transport for other locales only a few minutes away. We fed ourselves royally from the San Lorenzo market and benefitted at all times from Mariangela's friendly attentiveness.

We loved our stay in the purple apartment! The apartment is spacious, modern and so clean right in the heart of old Florence with easy walking to all the major attractions. It is also so close to Mercale Central where the best fresh produce of Tuscany is sold. We enjoyed cooking up a feast in the modern and new kitchen. The apartment is also surrounded by restaurants for those that prefer to eat out. Mariangela was the perfect hostess who met us on time with delicious Florence treats as a welcome gift. What we loved the most was the great location, free wifi, large new bathroom, huge open living space with lots of natural light and of course Mariangela's wonderful hospitality. Our family of 4 including 2 teenage girls stayed comfortably in this large studio apartment for a week. The apartment is conveniently located just a very short walk from the station, Duomo, central market and many other attractions. It is well equipped with everything we needed including very comfortable bed & sofa bed that we particularly appreciated after a day of exploring this beautiful city. Our hostess Mariangela went to a lot of trouble to ensure that we had everything we needed and recommended some great places to eat. I would not hesitate to recommend this as the perfect place to stay when you visit Florence.

When you're going to a beautiful city like Florence for a vacation, you need a few things; this apartment supplies most of them. It was really the perfect place to spend a week in a beautiful bustling city.
Mariangela was super professional and friendly. She catered to our schedule and her attention to detail was evident throughout the place. It was extremely clean and the decor had a personal touch you don't get in a hotel - one foot into this place and you will be glad you skipped the "Michelangelo Suites". The 'welcome book' she prepared had everything you need to know about the apartment and the city (everything from the WiFi key to good restaurants in the area). The kitchen was well stocked and in great condition, allowing us to prepare some amazing food when we didn't feel like going to a restaurant.
The location is about as perfect as I could imagine. It's a few minutes' walk from the Duomo and all that jazz. More importantly (for me), it was a couple of minutes away from the Central Market as well. Go there. Go there and buy some porcini mushrooms. Buy some fresh gnocchi from the pasta place. Saute those porcini (with some garlic) and toss in the mushrooms. Oh, man. Do it. Luckily for you, everything you need besides the mushrooms and gnocchi are right there, even some olive oil (we left a new bottle of the good stuff, so get there soon!)
It's in the heart of the city, with lovely views of the streets below, but it's also very quiet, amazingly.
I'd not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Florence. It's a relaxing, well looked-after place with a great owner. The spacious open-concept nature of it is quite refreshing after a day spent in tight areas elbow-wrestling with a throng of tourists. You do need to walk up a couple of flights of stairs, so it's not for those that can't handle such a thing, but for anyone else, I can't imagine anything I would have changed about our Florentine accommodations.

The apartment was perfect! It's very well decorated and equiped, luminous and superbly located, very close to the Duomo and Santa Maria Novella Station. It's the best option to visit Florence and you will feel at home! Our stay couldn't have been nicer. Mariangela, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and tried to make our stay as best as possible.

Idéalement placé, cet appartement permet d'être très proche de tous les sites d'intérêt touristique et culturel. Hâvre de fraîcheur au coeur de l'été, décoré avec goût et très fonctionnel, il accueille jusqu'à cinq personnes dans le plus grand confort. Owners - Mariangela is very attentive,gracious and helpful, communicating with us beforehand and meeting us upon our arrival,provide us the train and bus informations.
We stayed 5 nights in this clean and comfortable apartment, we all love this PurpleSuite apartment. It is in a great location,within easy walking distance to all the major sites, very close to the train station, bus station, there are many resturants, grocery stores and gelateria nearby.
They really have everything you need there from linens, towels, and a full kitchen. We were able to prepare a couple of dinners and had everything we needed. The place was immaculate! They even have a washing machine so we were able to do some laundry before we go to Roma.
All in all it is a awesome apartment and staying here really made us feel like we were living in Firenze and part of the community rather staying at a hotel and just visiting. We will definitely be back in the future.
The apartment certainly added to the pleasure and memories of our stay in Firenze! We loved this PurpleSuite and recommend it without hesitation.

We travelled for 3 weeks and this apartment was a haven. Mariangela is a wonderful host and really made us feel welcome and comfortable. The apartment was wonderfully presented in design and spotlessly cleans. The location is brilliant as well. Just a short walk from the main train station. Step out of the front door and you'll be immersed in the buzz and atmosphere of Florence. And right next door is a fantastic gourmet deli, a coo corner bar in which to let the hours pass and soak it all up. You will not be disappointed.

This appartment has an excellent location - literally - 5 minutes both from the Duomo and from the train station.
It is larger that it appears on the photos.
It is new and clean, well designed and pleasant to live in. There is a full set of kitchen facilities and an excellent WiFi. Unlike other places I've stayed in - one of the things that makes you feel comfortable from the very beginning is the availability of such small, but essential things like sugar, coffee, olive oil etc. When you check in, tired from the road, you don't need to rush immediately for water or coffee to the supermarket /there are plenty of them nearby though/. There were even several books and albums about Florence and its arts makes your moments of relax pleasant.
One very important plus for me was that the communication with Mariangela was very easy. I exchanged quite a lot of emails with her before taking decision, was late for my check in and had some concerns about making my checkout on time. Mariangela was all the time available, flexible, friendly and with fluent english - on the phone and online.
There is one minus that I have to say. I am not sure if the air conditioning has a possibility to cool or it was just a fan. I didn't manage to lower the temperature in the appartment with it. It just turned the air in my opinion.
And one warning in case there are elderly people in your group. The apartment is on the second floor - but be aware that the floors of the building are very high.
At a whole - I am very happy that I booked this appartment and I can definitely recommend it. If I have a chance to go again in Florence I will go there are again with pleasure.Response from Mariangela Minervini - 07/07/2012

The Purple Suite is an inviting, comfortable, well-furnished apartment located in a wonderful area in the city center of Florence, within a short walking distance of Piazza Duomo and the SM Novella train station. During my stay, the apartment made me feel like I was at home, not just staying in an unfamiliar apartment. Mariangela is an amazing and caring owner, who is willing to help make your stay the best it can be. She always goes out of her way to help in anyway she can. With the furnished kitchen, internet access and washing machine, I was able to live in the apartment as if it was a home, with all the conveniences I am used to having in the States. And with the full kitchen, I was able to not only practice my cooking skills, but I was also able to save money by not needing to eat-out all the time. I loved every moment of my time living in the Purple Suite and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, elegant and comfortable "home" to stay in while in Florence!
