This elegant apartment is located in the old historic center of Florence. It is perfectly situated within a short walking distance from famous sites such as the Duomo (main cathedral of Florence), Ponte Vecchio, Uffizzi museum, Galleria d'Accademia (where the original statue of David is located), and many more. The main bus/train station, Santa Maria Novella, is only a 5-minute walk from this apartment; making it very convenient for a day trip to a village or other towns.

The apartment is located one level above the street level in a historic building. The interior has been completely renovated and decorated in contemporary style. It h...as two full bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a combined living/dining area together with kitchen, and a large leather sofa bed.

** House Rules **

The following are set to ensure that I can provide a pleasant stay for all guests at a reasonable rate. Observing them is a requirement of stay and I highly appreciate your cooperation in observing them.

-- Check In/Out --

- Nobody will be at the apartment unless it is arranged in advance. Please update me about the specific time of your arrival. Specially closer to your arrival date please contact me and make arrangements before going to the apartment. That way I can organize to meet you at the apartment in a timely manner. Please do not ask neighbors or businesses for help or assistance in finding me. If the arranged meeting time is missed for any reason, I will be happy to rearrange. However, please note that it may take me about one hour before being able to get there again.

- You must bring first page (picture page) copy of each guest's passport. It is required by the Italian regulations for registering residence and without the copies I cannot check you in.

- Our standard check-in is 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm,

and check-out is 8:00 am - 10:00 am. There is a fee of 30 euros for each check-in or check-out later than 9:00 pm or earlier than 8:00 am.

-- Luggage --

- We can not keep your luggage before check-in and after check-out time under any circumstance. There is a Luggage Storage office at the train station you can use.

The peace and quite in the building is very important. Please observe the following:

- Parties, or loud music are not allowed in the apartment.

- Please close doors gently and never slam them.

- Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.

-- Cleaning --

- This is a self-catering apartment. The included cleaning covers general cleaning of the apartment and laundering linen/towels. You are required to dispose the trash ( including kitchen and bathroom trash ) in the trash container near the apartment. There are city garbage disposal containers in each neighborhood. The nearest disposal container is located in Piazza Madonna ( at the end of Via Faenza as you walk towards Duomo ). You are also required to wash the dishes you use. If trash or unwashed dishes remain at check out, a fee ranging from 10-25 Euros will be deducted from the security deposit.

- Please do not use towels for any purpose other than hand/body drying. Instead, please use disposable paper towels provided for other needs. Towels used for wiping shoes, wiping make-up, or such similar purposes are for guests to keep at a fee of €5 each.

-- Electricity --

The Italian electric power consumption regulations place a limit on using electricity per each apartment at a given time. Therefore, using several electric appliances at the same time results in circuit to shut down. It is easy to avoid by not using too many high power appliances at the same time.

Also, please do not leave the AC on during your absence or when the doors or windows are open. A proper and correct use of electricity is environmentally friendly and helps to conserve energy resources.

The tap water supplied in Florence is drinkable. Water is precious, so please do not leave the tap water running unnecessarily.

Additional Location Information

The San Lorenzo area where this apartment is located is an old historic neighborhood in which, the Medici, the rulers of Tuscany resided. The palace of Medici Ricardi, the famous Mercato Centrale (the fresh food and Tuscan products market) are within a block or two away from this apartment. Also the famous leather market is right around the corner. The area is traffic limited as are all streets of historic center. In the same street, via Faenza there are several restaurants, café and a supermarket. It's a very convenient location to stay and explore Florence or even make trips via bus or rail to other places because the main train and bus station are also within a short walk from the apartment.

  This apartment was perfect for our 3 day stay in Florence - 2 adults, 2 children. The location was excellent - no more than 5 minutes walk to Il Duomo and about 10 mins to all the other major central, historical & artistic destinations. This was crucial with a 6 & 8 yr old in tow. Everything we needed was on our doorstep - gelato vendors (crucial!), cafes, an extensive leather market - fabulous handbag bargains! There's a pretty good mini-market a few doors down with good fresh stuff and pretty much everything you could need, including speciality Tuscan produce.
  Everything is well within reach - historic piazzas, grand cafes (make sure you're sitting down when the bill comes), churches galore, the arno, Ponte Vecchio, the galleries . . . . it's sublime. There's also the usual array of high-end designer stores but really, who needs that when you're surrounded by the stuff that actually matters?
  
  Although situated on a very busy (pedestrianised) street, the apartment was quiet with the windows closed (& air con on), but the daily bustle was atmospheric. The area is packed with students as well as working Florentines and market stall workers. It's pretty noisy when they're trundling their stalls down the cobbles at the beginning and end of every day, but having lived just off Portobello Road, I was used to that particular noise. Luckily the bedrooms are at the back of the apartment, therefore quiet. The main bathroom is spacious and modern, the second ensuite a bit of a squeeze but ok for the kids. The apartment is well equipped and the washing machine was a bonus. It's very clean. Did I mention that already?
  
  Loved it when there was a thunderstorm. We watched it with the windows thrown open as the torrential rain cleared the street. Everything was quiet and sparkling afterwards. We ventured out to Il Duomo and the piazza - where did all those pesky tourists go? We almost had the place to ourselves.
  
  We had an excellent time in Florence and managed to see (and show the kids) everything we hoped to see - and more. It's such a treasure-trove. My 8 yr old boy's highlight was climbing the 463 steps to the top of Il Duomo. Breathtaking views. Worth it if you have the stamina.

  We spent 2 nights in this charming apartment, ideally located in a pedestrian street in Firenze historic centre. We appreciated the location, cleanliness, proximity of shops and ease of contact with our host. The only thing that could be improved is the comfort of the beds that were slightly too hard for us, particularly the sofa bed. But we would not hesitate to come back and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this address.

  This apt is in walking distance of all historical sites, and in a great area for restaurants outside the tourist traps close to the Duomo. The apt is fabulous, spacious, clean and modern! Marjan handled all the details, made it so easy, and is a very competent woman! Everything was as mentioned on the internet, only, seemed better than the pictures can actually achieve. Thanks for such a great place to stay, we (3 adults) loved it!

  Perfect accommodations for two couples to easily take in all the sights of Florence. Ideal location made it easy to tour all parts of the city. Renovations make this cozy apartment a great place to rest after long day of walking and shoppong. Working with Marjan was fantastic -- she was always available to answer questions.
