Toronto, Ontario, CanadaA taste of Florentine Living
Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013
In light of our recent charmed visit to Tuscany, where we were happy with all the places we stayed at, Claudia's apartment stood out as the only place that truly felt like home. The location in the Oltrarno side, and close proximity to the bustling Piazza Santo Spirito was a bonus. We loved every minute staying in this apartment, and are afraid to recommend it more, in fear that it won't be available the next time we come back to Florence.
Highlights: Being greeted by the lovely Claudia with her wonderful lemon cake. The realization that we didn't have to frantically look for coffee for our first morning. The complimentary starter breakfast (eggs, yoghurt, water, milk, fresh fruits and walnuts). All the lovely art that honestly added to every room and made its personality known. The tastefully decorated flat and ample storage. The free wifi!! The big lovely windows that look out on the street. The washer and dryer. Claudia's bike. Waking up on Sunday am, and being greeted by the all-day market, filled with locals. Well-stocked with everything you might need (extra sheets, pillows, etc). Clean! The proximity to Ponte Vecchio and beyond. I'm sure I'm forgetting more highlights.
Glitches: Only glitch we had was that the gate didn't seem to open with the key from the inside, but we saw it as a fun quirk that we had to buzz the gate open when leaving the apartment. Getting in was no problem.
Highly recommended. We couldn't have found a better place to stay that is more suited to our tastes. -

Southborough, MAColorful Comfortable Stay
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our family of four had a wonderful stay. Claudia's apartment truly felt like home, and we loved the neighborhood. Claudia welcomed us with a smile, a delicious pine nut cake, fresh fruit and nuts...plus fresh coffee. Our 13 year old son immediately made his own espresso, and ended up buying an espresso pot as his souvenir from Florence. We wish we could have stayed longer, and hope someday to return. Thank you Claudia, and family!

We came to stay at this flat in mid February. It was our first trip abroad with our youngest child and Claudia and Tom made us very welcome on arrival. The flat was very tastefully furnished, it gave my wife a few ideas! They had even gone out and bought a new cot for the baby and had put it together for us on our arrival. As others have noted, milk, juice, water and a wonderful cake were in the kitchen to make our transition to the flat as easy as possible.
It's location near Santo Spirito, Pitti Palace and the Ponte Vecchio ensured you had great parts of Florence on your doorstep. We had a great time and would happily come back. -

Barcelona, SpainA flat with soul
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We were looking for a place 'with a soul' and trusted we had found it when we saw the picture of the kitchen with some beautiful drawings hanging on the fridge made by Claudia and Tommaso's kids! We were just right! We spent some wonderful days in this flat! We were travelling with our two little daughters (3.5y and 18 months old) and it was great!
The kids loved finding fiber pens and paper to draw, candies, and great books for kids. My husband loved the proximity to a nice market in the square nearby, riding Claudia's bike and the organic eggs in the fridge. As to me i loved the tasty design of the flat, the tips on restaurants, the touristic guides and the yummy cake that Claudia baked.
this flat is more than fully equipped. It's more than centrally located. It's more than squeeky clean. It's a flat with a soul. A very beautiful soul indeed! -

This was a really wonderful place to stay with lots of artistic touches. Claudia ensured that it was well supplied with everything that we could possibly want - including the lovely arrival cake! The a[partment is really spacious with beautiful quality furnishings. The newly purchased English guides to Florence were much appreciated. It is walking accessible to all the main sights of Florence yet crossing back over the arno takes you into the artisan world of Oltrano. Santo Spirito Square with its alternative bars, restaurants, local shops and markets is just around the corner - and there's a Michaelangelo in the church! Highly recommended and we hope to return.

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This is a beautifully-maintained apartment in a convenient area. Tom and Claudia are super nice and they stock the fridge with eggs, milk, yogurt, juice, even cake! That is a wonderful touch, as the last thing you want to do when arriving somewhere is go searching for food! It is rather inconvenient not to have an Internet connection, but that's stated in advertisement. I would have only one suggestion, and that is to have at least one Florence guidebook available to borrow that's not in Italian. They have a fantastic book collection if you read Italian, but for French, English or German, you're out of luck. In an apartment we rented in Rome, they had a few well-worn, but very helpful guidebooks for renters to use and they were extremely valuable during our stay in Rome.

LostwithielSplendid central home from home apartment
Left on 12/13/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Just a few minutes walk from Ponte vecchio and centre of Florence this apartment took us by surprise . It was definitely much cheaper than many and we weren't expecting too much as we just needed a base. It was quite delightful. Spacious and well laid out and stylish it was incredibly well equipped. It felt like a home and not a holiday rental. Claudia welcomed us with a home made cake which saw us through our week and which was much appreciated. The old town is a delightful district with some unique artisan shops and the nearby Santo Spirito with the beautiful Michelangelo crucifix has to be seen. We loved staying here. We have visited Florence before and it is always beautiful but to stay in this apartment was a real treat which we hope to repeat

LondonLovely apartment
Left on 11/20/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is very clean with lots of little extras like coffee, bottled water, washing powder, oil, salt etc. The owner is very helpful. She met us on time and bought some milk and eggs for us, supplied us with a map, and even baked us a cake.
The location is on the south of the river but still central. There is a square nearby with restaurants/trattorias. There is also two butchers, fruit and veg stalls, bakeries, small supermarket and a wine shop. Everything you need.
My only comment is that the apartment doesn't have wi-fi. Also, we had a little trouble finding it initially as there are two number 17s in the street - this is the Florence street numbering.
We would definitely stay here again! -

We truly enjoyed this place. Claudia's training in the arts shows in its tasteful and harmonious decoration (the drawings by her children are a pleasing touch). You can relax in the living room, there's plenty of storage space in the bedroom, and the kitchen has everything you should need. I imagine the kitchen and dining room would be dark in winter, but in early October they receive plenty of natural light.
The day we arrived turned out to coincide with a national strike of local transit (i.e., buses). Taxis were scarce, so Claudia picked us up by the train station and drove us to the apartment. During the drive she offered to drive us back to the train station the morning of our departure.
If you need more proof of Claudia's generosity to her renters, consider the following. She placed eggs and juice in the refrigerator. She stocked the kitchen with more bottled water than we consumed in 5 days. She left us a fruit basket. There are two bottles of liqueur for your enjoyment. She provided a jar of homemade apricot preserves. And best of all, she baked a pine nut-topped breakfast cake (at least, we ate it for breakfast!).
Because Florence is small, the location is convenient to everything. The Pitti Palace is the closest major tourist attraction. But the Duomo is a leisurely 15 minute walk (can one walk any other way in Florence?) There are grocery stores nearby. The Piazza san Spirito Sancti, one block away, is well known spot for nightlife and local characters.
Flaws? Well, if you plan to use the dryer, ask for instructions (or be able to read the Italian manual). After working once, it subsequently ran for about 30 seconds and then stopped. Be careful using the shower: it's easy to splash water outside the tub. The flight of stairs up to the apartment could be better lit. I hope they install Internet one day. But if I return to Florence I'll check this apartment's availability before I consider anywhere else.

Christchurch, NZA very comfortable and convenient apartment.
Left on 09/28/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We had the privilege of staying in this fabulous apartment for nine nights earlier this month (September '12). We could not have picked a better place to stay than here and truly enjoyed it all. We were greeted very warmly on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Having chosen the apartment through the web site there is always some hesitancy as to what the actual place will be like, we were not disappointed at all. All the conveniences of a fully furnished home. Location wise it was perfect, an easy 10 minute walk to the main attractions of Firenze and a very short two minute walk to Piazza Sato Spirito, which was always abuzz with something, check on Trip advisor, great eating places, markets, fantastic antique market one Sunday, and of course yet another fabulous church!
The only negative I can add is that there is no Internet connection, but this was not too problematic for us as there were plenty of places within an easy walk who offered free wifi for the price of a coffee (or wine!)
I would not hesitate to stay again, and could easily live there a month or longer due to it being so well appointed and comfortable.Response from Marjan - 10/11/2012

Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My daughter and I stayed in this apartment in august 2012. From the start our hosts Tom and Claudia made us feel incredibly welcome. It is, without question the nicest holiday rental we have ever stayed in. All the furnishing are of an extremely high quality and the kitchen is more than well-equipped. As an English teacher I became very excited when I noticed a well-stocked library but alas the titles were all Italian translations! Claudia baked us a delicious almond cake which sustained us for several days!
