Loc...ated in what is referred to as the ‘Left Bank’ of Florence, the Oltrarno is most famously known for its local artisans and a place where you can eat with the locals and have a more traditional Florentine experience. The apartment is a stone’s throw from Piazza Carmine, a short walk to Piazza Santo Spirito and a ten minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio.
Piazza del Carmine is one of the main squares of the Oltrarno area of Florence, dominated by the majestic Church of Santa Maria del Carmine. Santo Spirito has been described as “Florence's most lively, yet laid-back and local piazza, lined with wonderful cafés and bars spilling out onto the square beneath the façade of Brunelleschi's basilica.”
Via Del Leone itself is a quiet street with all amenities at your doorstep – including your neighborhood butcher and grocer, and nearby Piazza Tasso features green space and a children’s playground.

The apartment is extremely dark, dank and smells moldy. There is only a small window in the bedroom for fresh air. The noise from the street and tenants above is loud. The furnishings are pretty but not comfortable. We actually left after 2 nights and looked for another place to stay for the remainder of our trip.

The check in/out and services provided by apartments Florence were first rate - they were punctual and quick to come when there was a wi-fi and tv issue. First problem was noise - the apartment is on street level and noise from passersby on the pavement and cars was considerable. Also the neighbors above were quite noisy. The layout of the flat itself was good but not practical for cooking/preparing food as there was limited space to do so. That being said many modcons were available - dishwasher, clothes washer, microwave, etc. Also the San Frediano location was very convenient

Overall I loved my stay at the via del Leone 1 bedroom. The apartments Florence representatives were courteous, accommodating, and efficient. They did their very best to help resolve a few issues that I had with the apartment and make me feel comfortable. The apartment is on the ground floor (a bit dark) and there were some noise issues with street traffic and neighbors above, but the bedroom was generally quiet. It is also convenient for a small family as there is a generous daybed. My stay was in January, a typically wet season for Florence and the apartment could feel damp and smell musty as well. The representatives showed me how to use the dehumidifiers, which helped considerably. The apartment is very clean, well equipped and newly renovated. The master bed is pleasantly comfortable (not typical for Italy!). For a small fee you can arrange to have a cleaning service. They changed my bed linens and towels and did a nice job cleaning the apartment. I was very pleased with this service. The apartment is a 10-minute walk from the center and the neighborhood is authentic and steps from many cute eateries and the spectacular Piazza del Carmine and church. The water and electric bill could become expensive, so prepare for that at the end of your stay as it is not included in the price of the apartment.

Stayed at this apartment with our baby. The locationwas good as it was little awayfrom the centre and so the regular tourist rush. There was a very nice local grocer andbutchers closeby helping us with very yummy and fresh produce for our morning breakfast. All the tourist locations and cafes etcwere walking distance of within15-20 minutes.
The big donwside was the noise - fomthe roads, from the residents living on floor above. The master bedroom was small to take the babycot and have any space around it. The travel cot and highchair were provided at an additional cost of 50euros for 5 days which was quite high as the chair was basic ikea chair which had been very well used and the cot sidnt have a good thick mattress. We used up doubling up a couple of sheets to give enough thickiness to th mattress so that baby could sleep. Overall it was quite average and the location of the apartment was the best thing about it. Read more
We appreciate your nice review about our apartment Leone 40 and your feedback. Apartments Florence try to provide apartments at the center of the city and as close as possible to the most important monuments. The apartment is a stone’s throw from Piazza Carmine, a short walk to Piazza Santo Spirito , a ten minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and it is surrounded from local artisans , places where you can eat with the locals and have a more traditional Florentine experience. Living in the heart of the city means that you have everything near but you also have the rumors of the city life.
Our staff is always available to give information about the cost of extra amenities like the cot before you make the reservation so you can have a clear idea of the costs. We try to provide with more amenities possible but not all the apartments have the space or all the clients have the same needs that is why some of them are on request with extra cost.

I stayed in this apartment for two months and it was almost perfect. It was clean and very comfortable, equipped with many appliances and a great collection of cutlery and crockery. I had no need to use the heater or the air-conditioner because the apartment kept cool itself but it seemed well designed to deal with all months of the year, though particularly the summer months. It is on the bottom floor of the apartment building so it is easy to get in and out. It also has very fast internet and a pretty big shower. It had a rustic charm in the interior design but with a modern touch.
It was a little noisy, in that I could keep the neighbours above me and occasionally people going up and down the stairs and closing the front door behind me, and it is on street level so you can sometimes hear quite clearly the people walking by, but the bedroom is at the back of the apartment so unless you are very sensitive to noise, it should be fine.
There were a few things to be fixed up, as I understand it I was the first person to stay in the apartment and it had been very newly renovated, but they were small and apartments Florence noted them all. Apartments Florence was very helpful and also answered my requests and problems promptly. There were a couple of problems with my reservation, though not due to apartments Florence, and I was impressed with the way they fixed them and offered solutions.
It also has a good location, because it is situated in the Oltrarno, though only a fifteen minute walk from the main train station, it was in a local area unpopulated by tourists. It was about a half an hour walk to the Duomo, but a really lovely walk, and there is always so much to see in Florence.
I really enjoyed my stay there.

This spacious one-bedroom apartment, on the ground floor of a building on a quiet street in the Oltrarno district, is a block from a pretty little square, with two excellent restaurants, a supermarket, and a great bakery within a two-block area. From the apartment you can hear the bells of the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, which contains Masaccio's renowned frescoes, and the Duomo and the Ufizzi are within walking distance (as is San Marco, for more energetic walkers). Several bus stops are nearby. We found the apartment to be spotless, thoroughly equipped with kitchenware and household appliances (including a hair dryer and an espresso machine), beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully furnished down to the shelf liners, which are beautiful Florentine paper! There's even a small group of books about Florence. Check-in was easy, and a bottle of excellent Docg Chianti welcomed us.
