Description from the manager
It's impossible to resist the charm of this Tuscany apartment in Florence's Duomo district, with a shaded outdoor terrace and interior walls painted with delicious trompe l'oeil. Not only is it comfortable and well-decorated, this holiday accommodation in Tuscany is about as centrally located as you can get. With a master bedroom and two twin rooms, spend a self-catering vacation in Tuscany with your family.
Throughout the centuries the palazzo was remodeled extensively, acquiring its present form in the mid-18th century. In the shops nearby one can find a baker, butcher, green grocer, coffee and pastry shops, hairdresser, dry cleaner,...Read more

We have stayed in this apartment before and enjoyed the location.
The location.
The lack of garbage removal service. You have to discard your own garbage with no dumpster within 3 blocks of the building. We also lost hot water at least once a day, but by the time the maintenance person arrived, it came back.
Everything is nearby - sites, shopping, restaurants, etc. -

Perfect - could not have been better.
The location and the spaciousness of the apartment. The AC worked brilliantly as well.
Can't think of anything.
Everything was at our fingertips - beautiful location in the city. You won't find a 5-star hotel with a better location. -

In general, we all loved our stay.
The location and the size of the apartment. We all felt very comfortable even when there were 6 of us staying there.
The mosquitoes, and the amount we were charged for the utilities.
Being able to walk everywhere and having excellent restaurants nearby. -

I've rented apartments in many European cities over the years, but this is my favorite! I would recommend it to anyone.
Location was great...right in the middle of fabulous shops, restaurants, close to the train and bus stations. The property itself is very clean, well furnished and the rooms are large. The outdoor space is large and very private.
Everything was great! A small suggestion would be to do something about the drain smell in the 3rd bathroom. -

Property was wonderfully roomy. All the bedrooms were spacious. Location is excellent. Very clean and well appointed and equipped.
Master bedroom, which was air conditioned with a wall unit, rather than central air as the rest of the apartment, was a little warm during hot summer nights. This problem was solved by opening the bedroom door and position a fan in the living room to blow air into the bedroom at night.
Great shopping, both high-end and for practicalities. Very good restaurants located within easy walking distance. -

We have stayed in this apartment a couple of times on our visits to Florence. To be able to stay there for an entire month was really a treat. We have been to Florence many times, and this is without question the finest property available for rent that we have found. In the heart of the city in an exclusive building, beautifully appointed and well air conditioned.
The only negative was our final bill. With skyrocketing energy costs, be prepared for a large bill if you are there in the summer and have to use the air conditioning in order to be comfortable. We did not need the air conditioner at all the first 2 weeks of June, but the last 2 weeks of the month were quite hot and required the air being on. When the bill was presented, I was shocked.
Perfect location, on the best shopping street in the city, with limited foot traffic. A very short walk to any location within Florence. -

Mosquitoes galore. Could not open the windows because of them. Also, didn't like the extra costs for the utilities (the electricity was about $100) and final cleaning. Any maid service is extra.
Florence is wonderful. The location is so central and easy to get everywere. -

We loved it and would recommend it to everyone. It was so comfortable and relaxing to be in the apartment, it was as close to home as you can get in a foreign country
It is hard to pick just one thing that we liked the most about this property---the apartment is beautiful and spacious and the location could not be better. Everything is within walking distance.
Mosquitoes--not really the property's problem, though.
You can get to everything from the apartment. If something is not within walking distance, the bus stop is outside the front door and the train station is about 2 blocks away. -

Rentvillas - your staff was helpful and I admire your persistance in obtaining my comments. It tells me that you are serious in wanting candid comments and I have done that. Thanks for helping me enjoy a wonderful holiday with my family.
Location! We had reviewed many properties before choosing this one. Everone claimed a good location, so we became skeptical. But we became true believers in this apartment after the first day---it is truly a brisk, ten-minute walk from anywhere worth going, e.g. the train station, Central Market and the Arno River. For any first timers to Florence, take it from me, a sixty plus with RA, you can't beat this location, which, incidentally, is on the same block as Bulgari, Rolex, Cavali, Gucci, Pouellato, Parenti, Hermes and my favorite, Loretta Caponi - children's clothes. You will find an excellent staff in the building. They were most helpful in every way. They helped me to establish a wireless connection to their router - weak, but serviceable and FREE. They promptly responded to requests for a microwave oven, ice trays, mosquito devices, etc. The guide to local establishments restaurants, shops, etc., was excellent.
No maid service mid-stay. The kitchen did not have some basic supplies, e.g. measuring cups, micorwaveable bowls and drinking glasses larger than 6 oz.. We bought a measuring cup and left it there. The air conditioning unit was not working during our stay. After our complaints, the staff told us about the plug-in mosquito devices, which worked reasonably well. We think that at least two windows should be fitted with screens to provide cross ventilation at night and keep out the mosquitoes. We had to provide our own toilet paper and paper towels. We didn't find the mattresses comfortable.
Proximity to shops, restaurants and sites. -

Waiting for the elevator if someone else has used it and forgot to close the gate.
Great restaurants and shops. -

There was onsite management on the 2nd floor to help with any questions and a front doorman. These were nice touches.
The property has 3 bedrooms with a large central living area and a nice terrace overlooking Florence. Additionally, the property is located in the Piazza Antinori which is a 5 minute walk from the Duomo, a 5 minute walk from the train station, and 10 minutes from the Ponte Vecchio. We were in the heart of Florence.
We were in the heart of everything, could walk everywhere in between 5-20 minutes. Saves time on your vacation to vacation instead of catching buses or renting cars or taxis. -

The management was helpful and available. The literature in the apartment was also very helpful with telephone numbers, transport etc. We knew help was available if needed. Though there is a washer, there isn't a dryer. Racks work well on the patio, though. With three generations staying in the apartment, cell phones worked remarkably well and are widely available for short-term rental.
The location in the heart of Florence is perfect. It combines sight seeing, shopping, ambiance and transportation remarkably well. Behind the building is a living neighborhood with grocers, wine shops, vegetable stands and excellent restaurants within two or three blocks in a vibrant warren of interesting streets. In front of the property is the high-end shopping street of the city. In every direction is Renaissance Florence within four blocks walking. A bus stop immediately outside our door takes us to anything further; bus 6 stops at San Marco and the Academia. The train station is only a five-minute walk to the 90-minute train to Rome. Cabs are readily available and prompt. The center of Florence becomes very crowded, and this location is just far enough removed to feel secure and relaxing.
Getting a feel for living in the city is possible from Aida. Our grocer, restaurant owners and shopkeepers knew us on sight and were delightful. Via Della Spada particularly has a local feel but had excellent services. It felt to us, walking around the city as we did, that this location has an especially high density of good restaurants and services without being overly touristy. Plenty of Italian was spoken at all these restaurants. -

Great apartment, great location, great neighbourhood.
Location.
Air condition unit for next floor down is so near to window of two of the bedrooms. It made a loud clunk when it started, waking us if we kept windows open.
Downtown Florence! What needs to be said. -

Th apartment exceeded our expectations for comfort and location and we would not hesitate to return.
Location - it was an easy walk to all historical sights, great restaurants, the train station and designer shops.
We battled mosquitos until we discovered the window where they were getting in and then we sealed it off.
We thoroughly enjoyed Florence - the sights, sounds, food, people and shopping. -

The Location and the size of the apartment
The master bedroom air conditioner was not able to keep up with the heat and humidity .. all the other air units were great
Close to everything within a few blocks. -

This apartment was better than we expected. It was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and in an ideal location.
Everything. The decor was pleasant and the floorplan worked for us. The outside terrace was nice to have. Most surprising was that we were in the middle of a very busy and noisy city and heard nothing when we were in the apartment. The building was quite secure, too. Bedrooms and bathrooms met American standards well enough.
Nothing.
Everything. The location of the apartment was ideal, and beautiful section of Florence. -

We have been hesitant to submit comments on this apartment for fear that we will never get the use of it again, as it will become too popular. To say that it was as near perfect as possible is an understatement. It was spacious, well-furnished, clean, perfectly located, and comfortable.
Two things stood out as the best about the apartment; (1)location was near everything in the old part of Florence (2) how spacious and comfortable the apartment was for 6 people.
Everything, we were in Florence, was is not to enjoy. One block away is Buca Lapi Restaurant, perfect and close. As you will discover in Florence, there is no such thing as a bad meal. If you use a driver service, arranged by the management of the building, have them ask for Max to drive. He speaks English well, and we enjoyed the days we spent with him in the Tuscany area. -

The apartment was not only elegant but comfortable. It was unuaually quiet, given the location. it was very well maintained and clean. The property management staff was extremely helpful and quick to respond to questions or requests.
The best part was the location. It was far enough away to permit a more "neighborhood" feel, yet close enough for those willing to immerse themselves in the hordes of tourists. We did a lot of cooking because there were so many wonderful food shops around.
The cost, although we recognized that the quality made the cost appropriate.
The markets were great. Everything (museums and churches)was well within walking distance even for an old lady! Being there for a month permitted us to become acquainted with the merchants, a delightful experience even if we didn't speak the language well.
