Absolutely spotless and comfortable and charming. May 2013
The apartment could not have been in a better location. You can walk to everything to see in Florence. The person who greeted us was friendly and informative and gave tips on that to see and where to eat. All the advice was great. The apartment is absolutely spotless and comfortable and charming. The description is very accurate. I would definitely stay there again and give it the highest recommendationResponse from Italy Perfect - 06/11/2013

Left on 06/11/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We found our host to be very helpful and rightfully proud of his apartment. The apartment was extremely well located and we were able to get to some of the main attractions early in the morning, missing the crowds, because of this. The apartment was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The bed was excellent and generally, the apartment was quite. Overall, a beautfillu located and presented apartment.

D.C.Pleasant accommodation, Excellent Location
Left on 06/02/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The Jacopo unit served our needs very well for a 4-night stay in May. The location offered extremely convenient access to Ponte Vecchio and the center-city attractions just across the arno, as well great local eateries (Trattoria 4 Leoni was a nearby favorite) and sites (Piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato are must for those who don't mind an ascent) on 'our' side of the river. Much of the charm of the unit itself relates to its old age, but this is, of course, a matter of taste. Other considerations, most also documented in previous reviews and in the ample/helpful descriptions from Italy Perfect include the following: more property 'rules' in general, fewer linens, etc., but more of an authentic residential experience. It is an advantage to have a laundry machine for those packing light. Overall the unit was spacious, but the bathroom was smallish (including vertically). If planning to sleep with windows open, motor scooters may be disruptive, depending on sensitivity. But internally the building is very quiet, save the creeky in-unit stairs. In fact, posted signs urge guests not to break with this low-key norm. Pat and Lisa were very responsive during and after booking and the local unit owner/greeter was kind and available via email/phone during our stay.

MassachusettsSurrounded by a beautiful Italian city
Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in April 2012
As we woke up each morning, we were greeted by the sounds of shopkeepers opening their doors for the day, and women in heels clicking along the pavement. The Italian language drifted up from the street below, reminding us that we were not home, but rather in Florence with another great day ahead of us.
This apartment was an excellent base from which to explore one of the finest "walking" cities in Europe. Just across the river from the main city, it provided a measure of calm without distancing us from the attractions. Near the Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens and the Ponte Vecchio, we could also walk to the Uffizi Museum or the Domo within minutes.
Both sides of the river are graced by many good restaurants. We chose to eat out most nights, but a few times we stopped at the neighborhood grocery or one of the outdoor markets and brought food home to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. Since our weather wasn't perfect, we were grateful for the umbrellas, too, and a good internet connection and cell phone service let us keep in touch.
The moderate temperatures during our stay meant that we didn't need the heat or air conditioning that was available, as the ceiling fan was all we needed. With the windows open, we could let the ambiance of Florence drift in with the pleasant breeze.Response from Italy Perfect - 05/22/2012

294013Jacopo apartment in Florence – Great location with positives and
Left on 05/19/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My husband and I stayed at the Jacopo apartment for 16 nights in Feb 2012. There were positive things and negative things about the apartment.
Positives:
1) Terrific location (a block from the Ponte Vecchio) - grocery store right down the street, good restaurants nearby, walking distance to most things. 2) Cute/attractive, just like the pictures show. 3) It was fully stocked upon arrival with toilet paper, papertowels, soap, etc., 4) The owner’s son greeted us with a bottle of wine and he was very nice. 5) It's a comfortable size for two people, not too small.
Some of the things that we found challenging:
1) The apartment is very cold in the winter. (When we were there, it was unseasonably cold for Florence, which didn’t help.) Even if you turn up the heat all the way, it does not heat the apartment enough. We had to use the additional space heater provided to make the apartment warm (but even with that it didn’t get that warm). Since it is a loft-style apartment with the bedroom upstairs, all of the heat goes up there and it stays cold downstairs. Also, we had to keep the wooden window coverings shut most of the time because if we opened them to see the windows and let the light in, it would be even colder – which made the apartment dark. (I’m also not sure how comfortable the apartment would be in the summer when it’s hot, especially upstairs in the loft bedroom because all of the heat would rise up.)
2) The power outage issues were pretty annoying. We knew beforehand that you could not run multiple things at once, but we didn’t realize what an inconvenience this would be. For example, if you have the space heater and the microwave on, the power will go out. Etc etc. You have to run the washing machine either when you leave the apartment or when you are going to bed so that there is nothing else running. Same for the dishwasher. However, the biggest problem the power outages created was that the internet would go out, and it would not start back up when the power came back on. For some reason, we had to work at it for awhile to get it back on.
3) There is a limited amount of hot water! If my husband and I took showers back to back, the second shower would get cold. So I would usually take showers at night and he would take them in the morning so that we could both have warm showers, which was definitely not ideal.
4) The apartment was noisy. I don’t think you would be able to sleep without earplugs. My husband and I always have earplugs with us so this was not a problem, but it was still noisy with the motorcycles driving by, street cleaning in the morning, and people above us walking around in high heels.
Overall, it was a decent apartment and in a great location. But next time we would not rent a loft style apartment because of the temperature issues, and we would pay a little more for a place that does not have so many power and temperature problems.Response from Italy Perfect - 07/10/2012

Thank you for your balanced comments. We are pleased you liked the great location, the accuracy of the photos and information and the nice welcome. It is true that your stay coincided with one of the coldest periods in recent history for Florence, with record-breaking snowfalls during this time, when all of Florence, tourists and locals alike were freezing! Power management is a common issue in Italian homes, it's true you can't run two power-hungry appliance at the same time in almost any Italian home; it's an adjustment to remember not to run, for example the microwave and washer at the same time. This is the situation throughout Italy. Thank you for staying with Italy Perfect. Hopefully you can return again during milder weather. Regards, Lisa at Italy Perfect

Left on 05/06/2012 for a stay in October 2011
We were very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness of the apartment. The floors were filthy and not cleaned prior to our arrival. The toilet was broken and they had people working on it for a number of hours on our first day. The location was fine but don't expect a quiet place at all.

I'm so sorry you were disappointed with your stay 8 months ago. As you can see from the overwhelming number of very positive reviews your experience was unusual. The guests who checked out just a few hours before you arrived broke the toilet & didn't have the courtesy to inform the greeter at check out. The cleaner discovered it when she came to clean so there was much last minute scurrying to get an emergency plumber to repair it. Thankfully a plumber was located last minute, resulting in a short delay for your check in. You indicated to the greeter and the owner that you did not mind the brief delay and understood the situation. I gather that perhaps the cleaning lady didn't have a chance to return and re-mop the floor after the plumber left, but it had been cleaned by her earlier that day. We so wish you had contacted us or the greeter during your stay to let us know so that we could have arranged to have the cleaner come back. Lisa at Italy Perfect

I spent 4 weeks at the Jacopo apartment and found it very homey and comfortable and within walking distance to everything from museums to groceries. After a long flight, it was a relief to walk in and find the apartment well stocked with both kitchen and bathroom essentials along with a lovely gift basket of Italian cheese, sausage, crackers, fruit, juice, and a bottle of red wine. Bravo Jacobo. You thought of everything to welcome us! The bed was very comfortable with sufficient clean comforters and sufficient light for reading, along with an excellent shower. I would definitely stay there again if the occasion arose!

The Jacopo apartment was a fantastic place to stay, and we are very appreciative that it was available for us. We would recommend the very spot to someone else looking for somewhere when visiting Florence. The location was perfect! It was very close and convenient to get to restaurants or sightseeing areas such as the Uffizi. Restaurants were very good, such as the Ristorante Galleria. Our greeter, Jacopo was very polite and informative. Everyone that we encountered in Florence were very nice to us, even though we really didn't speak any Italian. If and when we ever get back, we would love to be able to stay there again if available.

Not only is the apartment absolutely as charming as the pictures show, its location is practically perfect in every way. We walked back and forth across the Ponte Vecchio at least twice a day. And we absolutely loved The Oltrarno. We walked every evening in our neighborhood -- window shopping, people watching, gelato eating and discovering the history of this unique place. There is a book on the shelf with a walking tour of the Oltrano and we highly recommend it. Florence is magical made even better when you have a wonderful place for a bit of respite. Kudos to Italy Perfect for having such "Perfect" properties and such great tips on the website. We plan use them again in London some day soon.

Perfect spot just off the "Centro grid" that made getting around the city very easy. There is no shortage in the neighborhood and 15 minute walking radius to fulfill many days of food, wine, shopping, and sights. The apartment for two is ample and the only thing to keep an eye on is power management (water heater, heat). Not a bad thing, just something to pay attention to. I look forward to staying here again.

Buffalo, NYJacopo Apartment
Left on 05/20/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The apartment was just as it was described by Italy Perfect. It was clean and had everything we needed for the week we were there. The location was great. We could walk to all the major sites in 10-12 minutes. The train and bus stations were only a 15 minute walk. There are many stores and great places to eat in the neighborhood.
The service was was excellent. We had a problem with one of the door locks and someone was at the apartment within 15 minutes to solve the problem.
While it was not a problem for us, there are about 15 steep steps that you need to walk up to get to the apartment.
We would stay there again on a return trip to Florence.

Left on 11/09/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed the Jacopo apartment. It is really cute and very
comfortable and is in an excellent location. My only comment on the
apartment was that it would have been nice to have a kitchen towel for
cleaning up the dishes. We did have trouble when we first arrived. The contact
person was very irritated with me because I kept trying to call him and couldn't
get through and he already had someone waiting at the apartment. I was never
able to get through on his cell, I tried all the day before and again when we got
into Florence. I finally got him on his home phone . I did not go directly to the
apt. because your instructions were explicit about calling first and I did not
think anyone would be there. It took us 45 minutes to finally get through to
him, partly because we were in first class at the very outside of the train and it
took us 15 minutes to walk to the station and then we went to the bathroom
and then I had to wait for a phone and then started trying to call him over and
over. This was all a little disconcerting, but, as I said, we loved the apartment. -

We were very pleased with this accomodation. The apartment comfortably
accomodated me, my husband and our 12 year old daughter. The apartment
was very nicely furnished and decorated. Although we did not really cook any
meals the kitchen was large and seemed well equipped. We especially loved
the location of this apartment, in a lively and attractive neighborhood. There
were numerous excellent restaurants and shops nearby, as well as an outdoor
market. The apartment was very secure and the neighborhood seemed very
safe. We were also within walking distance of all of the major attractions. We
have rented vacations apartments in Germany and France and this agency was
the best we have worked with to date. They were responsive, well organized,
and there were no hidden fees or other unpleasant surprises. I would
recommend this apartment for a couple or a family of three.Response from Italy Perfect - 11/09/2009
