The accommodations were as represented. The location couldn't have been better for our needs. Our only suggestion is this: if your want to see the country side when traveling by train as we did, don't take the high-speed trains. They get you there quickly but everything is a virtual blur. We would recommend Italy Perfect and, in fact, we have. Thanks for a great experience.

Texas, USA"Strozi" apartment for stay in Florence
Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Our apartment was an excellent place for us to stay during our visit to Florence. The location was perfect for access to the historic center of town as well as modern shopping opportunities. The building was exactly the vintage place we expected. The rooms were made up exactly as we had requested. Our greeters, also the apartment owners, welcomed us warmly and cordially; they took great effort to acquaint us with our surroundings from show us how to operate the appliances in the apartment to telling us about neighborhood including nearby restaurants.
This was our first time renting an apartment instead of hotel room, and we were a bit apprehensive about how it would all work out. But after the warm greeting we had from our hosts, the anxieties melted away. We really couldn't have asked for better.
The owners also had a computer system that could be shared among the guests. This was a benefit for where-to-go research plus check-in for return flights.
There is a bakery almost next door to the apartment building, and when they bake overnight the wonderful odors drift up and into the apartment. This encourages you to get up early and go first thing to get some delicious pastries! Also conveniently located is a good gelateria just a few steps past the bakery. There are a couple of good restaurants we found within easy walking distance: Tratoria dei 13 Gobbi, Via del Porcellana 9/r, and La Bussola Ristorante e Pizzaria, Via Porta Rossa, 58/r. We ate the best meals of the trip at these two restaurants.
We would definitely recommend this to others and hope to return ourselves some day.Response from Italy Perfect - 07/06/2012

We were very comfortable in this apartment (Michaela, studio) for our four nights in Florence. We were greeted by our very friendly hosts who took time to explain the apartment and surrounding area to us. The apartment was very well equipped and the location was great! There was excellent shopping nearby and many restaurants just steps away. The arno River and all the major sites were within easy walking distance! We felt the apartment was very good value for the price. Italy Perfect was very good to book with ... very complete instructions and information was provided before we left home ... our experience with Italy Perfect was very positive!

This is a beautiful apartment, very thoughtfully and comfortably equipped and very lovely. It feels like an elegant family home, not a tourist rental apartment. The owners are delightful and extremely helpful, showing us how to operate all of the appliances and pointed out everything we needed. It was perfect for two people--this is the second time we have stayed in this apartment. We loved it. The location is great, easy to walk to all the Florence sights and close to restaurants and shops. It is important to realize that the kitchen is a small kitchenette contained in an armoire, so any cooking needs to be simple. We had breakfast in the apartment, and brought back carryout a couple of times for dinner. The only other downside is some noise coming up through the interior courtyard at night.

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We stayed in Strozzi, one of the 4 apartments for a week and found it convenient, comfortable and very attractive. The owners met us as arranged and were very thorough when showing us around which was much appreciated. The street the apartment is on is full of lovely food shops if you like cooking and lots of restaurants if you don't. There is one close by called Il Latini which is quite an experience and great food. The apartment is 5 minutes from the Duomo and we were able to walk easily to most sites. We had a great week.

The appartment had a great location to train stations and all sites to see in Florence. We used this apartment as our home based and traveled to Pisa, Venice, and Cinque Terre. Since we were so close to the train station, this made each trip seamless. The owners greeted us, made sure we were comfortable with what the apartment had to offer, and Franco even treated us to breakfast on the day of departure.

seattle, wacharming apartment with gracious and accomodating hosts in perfe
Left on 05/23/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The description of this apartment was accurate but I found it to be even more charming and comfortable than described. Although a studio, it was quite large and also had a lovely entry way and the bath was off the hallway/entry giving more space and openness. It was also very thoughtfully designed and fully outfitted. There were lots of hangars in the wardrobe and plenty of places to put away ones things. Although I didn't cook in the little kitchen area, one could as it was outfitted with really all you needed right down to matching plates, wine glasses, and cloth napkins! But I did use the fridge and microwave and enjoyed shopping at La Spada, the little bakery downstairs, etc and snacked at times "at home". The place was spotless and all the extra touches (bottle of wine, large bottle of water, coffee etc) made it so easy to just settle in. I had to change my arrival time and they were completely accomodating and so gracious. Having the wifi and internet were also handy. I had to get a very early flight to go back to the us and they offered to engage a cab for a 5 am arrival and followed up with a note the night before to confirm that it was done. The location was perfect and indeed it was easy (and fun) to walk from the train/bus station to the place and to see what was along the way. The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is that I like to sleep in a cool environment and it was a little hot for me but I hear that they will be installing a/C and that would make it 5 stars indeed.

The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable with a modern bath and well-equipped kitchen. Italy Perfect provided a comprehensive information package proior to arrival and Franco was waiting for us when we arrived. The location was outstanding. It's minutes to the train station in one direction and to the main tourist areas in the other. We enjoyed numerous shops and restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Left on 12/08/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We spent 9 days in the Prisco apartment in Oct/Nov of 2011 and really enjoyed our stay. Literally outside our door was the bakery, butcher, cafe and a few really good restaurants. We never took a single cab as the location is so central to everything in Florence. We made breakfast every morning in the kitchen- the owners do a great job of explaining how everything works. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was perfectly quiet for sleeping. There is a busy intersection right below so there is traffic noise in the living room and kitchen area but it is tolerable. The Italy Perfect team gives you everything you need to know in terms of important info about the apartment, the area and just apartment living in Italy in general. Everything they sent beforehand was just as they described when we got there - no surprises at all. It all came in really handy. They only thing they need to work on is the internet signal and I know that is tough as it is an older building. All and all, I would absolutely rent with Italy Perfect again!

My sisters and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Prisco apartment in Florence. The detailed instructions sent to us by Lisa at Italy Perfect were very complete. We were met by Nicoleta who instructed us on all windows, locks, appliances etc.
The apartment exceeded our expectations! It was so large and so well furnished and so wonderfully located in the middle of everything. My sisters and I loved having a place to come home to during the day, where we could rest up again before going out again for the evening. We quite enjoyed hanging out the windows watching the world go by, including a parade on the Sunday morning.

This apartment was great for us. We have two kids. 10 and 12. The greeter were fabulous and went over everything in full detail. They made it easy to check in and waited for us to arrive. They even helped with the luggage from the small elevators. The building is gorgeous. The front room turns into the kids room as do many apt. for vacation rentals. The kitchen needs a little improvement as it was very clean and functional but it was builit like a cabinet as seen, but the refrigerator was in a totally separate room. They just need to bring one in closer. The Rest was perfect. The rooms were a good size. The washer was very useful and closets were huge. The apartment was quiet and the location was absolutely the best ever. I could not have landed us in a better spot. Every restaurant and sight is practically right out your door. Best of the best.

My husband and I stayed at the Lucia apartment for six nights in summer 2011. We were very pleased with our experience. The location of the apartment is perfect -- none of the major attractions are more than a ten-minute walk away. Both the neighborhood and the apartment felt very safe and secure. The apartment itself is small, but quite charming. We really enjoyed using the small kitchenette, and it was also very convenient to have access to laundry facilities and a computer. Miki and Franco, the apartment owners, were so gracious and helpful -- they really made us feel welcome. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Lucia apartment, and we would certainly recommend it to friends.

What a wonderful place to stay in Florence!! The friendly greeters, Miki and Franco, were so welcoming and helped us get a feel for the city and the apartment. The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for a studio apartment, and it had everything we needed, from pots and pans to internet access to a laundry closet down the hall. The furniture is really space-efficient, and all of the cabinets and the whole kitchen unit have sliding doors. It gave us some great ideas for furnishing our new apartment back home. There's a great modern bathroom and beautiful paintings as well. The location is absolutely amazing--it's in a beautiful area near some great cafes and restaurants (not to mention the shopping!) We loved walking to the market everyday to pick out food to make for dinner--such a great way to really experience Italian food.

From the moment I was welcomed by Franco and Mika and shown the apartment I knew we had made the right decision by choosing Italy Perfect. My husband who arrived later that evening from Lyon was very impressed and pleased to know I was being looked after. We were also impressed with the quick and informative responses from Lisa re: renting the apartment. Once our booking was confirmed, information provided about our stay in Florence was detailed, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. The quiet apartment is perfect for a couple or 2 singles. The kitchenette was the right size and while we tended to eat out more than expected the best part of the day was going 'home'. The location was ideal as we could walk everywhere. The restaurants near by are fine to eat at and we felt very safe. I have already told my travel agent about Italy Perfect and would not hesitate in recommending this property to friends, family and colleagues. We hope to stay here (or the Prisco apartment) on our next visit and will give the hotel game a big miss. Thank you.

Located in historic Florence this apartment offered a great experience. Once we got used to the sprawling nature of the kitchen layout (refrigerator in one room, stove in another, utensils here, there and everywhere) we found the apartment to be very liveable. Although basically just two rooms and a bathroom there seemed to be plenty of space for three. However, I would suggest not making the customers have to keep track of electricity usage and making that a separate fee. That was not our experience at other Italy apartments and just seemed like a ploy to get another 50 euros from the customers.
Response from Italy Perfect - 06/28/2011

We are pleased these guests enjoyed their stay and found the apartment very livable. A generous average of €3/day of utilities is included in the rent; a baseline to cover average utility usage unless running the A/C or heat extensively. This is covered on our website, rental agreement, FAQ and confirmation materials. This is a common practice in Italy where many properties charge all utility usage separately.

A spacious, comfortable, well equipped apartment. Mikki and Franco are excellent hosts and ensure that you understand how everything works. Lots of guide books and local information, free use of computers and a printer if needed. There are lots of local shops nearby and it can be nosiy but there is double glazing in the bedroom which together with the excellent bed ensure a good nights sleep. Very convenient for sites and markets.
Italy Perfect provided good information on the apartment and Florence before out trip. The only downside for Brits is that the rental price in euros is converted to dollars and then to pounds. -

My wife and I spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the apartment. It is hard to explain how nice it feels to come up to a door on a street in Florence with the key to your own apartment. Pros: The location is fabulous. It is near to all the tourist sites and there are all the businesses that you need within a hundred yards. There is a bakery just outside the front door and a Salumeria just down the block. The Salumeria had a selection of cold cuts and a small selection of grocery items. They also had a few wines which were both reasonably priced and excellent. The Badia a Coltibuono was wonderful. Further up the block is a small supermarket with all the items you might need. There are a number of restaurants including one recommended by Rick Steves just across the street. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and has a washing machine in it. There is also a large refrigerator just outside the bathroom. This apartment, and two others were part of a doctors office and home which is why there is the nice entry hallway. There are two (very) small balconies, one outside the living room and one outside the bathroom. These are in an air shaft so there is no view but there is also no street noise so the place is quiet at night. Con: Only one and not particularly important to us. The "kitchen" consists of a small cabinet which has a very small sink and an electric burner setup. This is not something for cooking a real meal but it did well for boiling eggs to go with the fresh rolls at breakfast. There are a number of places nearby where you can get good and inexpensive take out food. We tended to do that and have dinner in with a nice bottle of wine. There is also a microwave for heating food and water for tea and coffee. There is a computer available for all the apartments and there is also wireless internet access which worked very well for us. Would we stay here again? Certainly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Prisco. The location is perfect. From the moment we walked through the doors we no longer felt like tourists. The apartment is well-equipped and Miki & Franco are delightful. We are "get up & go" type of people so kitchen was a huge plus. We ate several meals in, after having shopped at the fabulous Mercato Centrale. It is an experience you should not miss. There are numerous smaller markets scattered throughout so food shopping is convenient. The main living area is quite noisy but it adds to the experience. Sunday morning revelers were entertaining and the everyday street noise just added to the ambiance. The bedroom was spacious and amazingly quiet. Heating was the only problem we encountered but the weather was unexpectedly cold. The city was decorated for the Christmas Season and was magical. We highly recommend the acqua al 2 Restaurant @ Via della Vigna Vecchia 40r. As for the leather & scarves, a hint. Bargain, bargain, bargain! Then walk away and come back a day or two later. The price is always negotiable. Bring an extra suitcase or carry-on bag because you cannot resist the temptation to buy! And, don't miss doing some window shopping on the Via De'Tournabuoni! We highly recommend Italy Perfect & The Prisco. We fell in love with "Firenze" and will return often.

We had a delightful stay in Prisco apartment. Miki and Franco were very welcoming and helpful in showing us through the apartment. The location was ideal for us; so convenient to all the sights and food outlets. Our favourite eating spot was Trattoria Marione, consistently good and close to the apartment. We also enjoyed choosing our own food from the market to prepare meals at home.
The wifi was sometimes difficult to access from inside the apartment, but we could make a connection by walking up nearer to the computer room. Just a minor point; everything else was perfect for our return to Florence after 35 years. Thank you too Lisa for your efficient and friendly communication in arranging our booking.

Miki and Franco met us at the apartment right on time and showed us through the checklist i.e. how the washing machine works. They are a delightful couple and even provided us with a bottle of and a Florence map! The apartment was fantastic with a large bedroom and very comfortable bed; large well equipped bathroom with a great walk in shower; very comfy living area with american coffee maker and coffee and a very serviceable kitchette; and even a safe. The building and apartments area is fantastic! Like a fortress just half a block from the Strozzi Palace and the shopping district right around the corner. The pastry shop 2 doors was fabulous and was Cafe Megara right next door. Just a delightful few minutes walk (location, location, location) to anywhere in Florence including the Mercato Centrale and the Ponte Vecchio. The neighborhood is great and very local (we never felt like strangers) even though it's just a few steps from major tourist sites. We loved them both - Florence and Strozzi! Because we had an early flight out Miki and Franco checked us out the evening before and even arraigned for a taxi (which was right on time) to pick us up for the airport. Oh, and seek out Ristorante Caruso on via della Moro for a fabulous meal and enertaining evening!

We had an amazing visit in Florence and loved staying in the Strozzi apartment. We stayed six nights earlier in September and were not ready to leave! Miki and Franco were wonderful and helpful hosts. What a beautiful apartment and what an amazing location! It couldn't have been better. It was just steps from Via de' Tornabuoni and had great (and very reasonably priced) restaurants within a few steps of the apartment. It was an easy walk to the train station for arrival and departure. It was also a very nice convenience to have the washing machine. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were probably the best away from home I have ever slept on. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that we loved it and were not ready to leave! When we return to Florence, we will be in touch!
Thanks so much.

During our visit Florence was in the middle of a heatwave, but we were very comfortable in the air-conditioning of this apartment. We ate at restaurants during our visit, but one could easily make small, basic meals in the kitchenette. Quiet/convenient location. Small but dependable elevator. Would not recommend this place if you're traveling with children.

We stayed in this apartment for six nights at the end of a fourteen night stay throughout Italy. As we were staying in hotels the freedom of the apartment was most welcome.
The location within a short walking distance from the main railway station was beneficial as it allowed the opportunity to journey beyond Florence on short day excursions.
The location was very convenient to most of the main city attractions and to restaurants and shopping which are just at your doorstep. The service provided on our arrival was both welcoming and informative. The free and unlimited access to the internet was without doubt a bonus.
If we had any complaints it was with the cooking facilities and whilst we were warned about this on reading previous comments, we were disappointed that the facility was so limited as one of the reasons for selecting an apartment was to have the facility of eating in on occasions however this would not put us off recommending this property to others. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable end to our holiday.

We had 9 days in the Strozzi in May and this was a perfect place and location. 10mins walk from the train station and every major site in Firenze.
Just above a bakery for fresh breakfast and surrounded by good restaurant choices. For those who can afford it also too close to Gucci, Fendi, Bulgari, LVT.
Great apartment with enough room to spread out and make yourself at home. Wifi to keep yourelf connected and balconies to relax on.
Franco and Miki met us when we arrived and that was the perfect start to our stay with some nice Santovino to welcome us.
Thank you Lisa and Italy perfect for the great organisation and helpful information.

We spent four weeks in Florence at the Michaela apartment. Even though we arrived late because we missed a connecting flight, our greeters were on hand late into the evening, to settle us into the apartment.
Miki and Franco are both great greeters and hosts and we certainly appreciated all their efforts. The Michaela apartment was perfectly adequate for our purposes. It was clean, secure, in a perfect location and the price allowed us to spend a little more of our money on visiting museums and shopping for leather goods. Thanks for the memorable stay in Florence.

We have rented many apartments in Europe and the Prisco is among the best. We arrived from Assisi after a dreadful apartment experience, so bad that we left earlier than our rental period. Lisa was able to get us into Prisco a few days earlier, and even applied a weekly discount to our rent. The hosts, Miki and Franco could not have been more accomodating to our needs.

We had a great time in the Michaela apartment for two weeks in April, 2010. The hosts, Miki and Franco, went out of their way to help us out. We did a lot of cooking in so they brought us extra pans, etc. If you do cook in a lot you can expect to have a utility bill when you leave. A reasonable bill, just expect it. Having an Internet connection on location was an extra plus. Great location, we walked everywhere. If you plan to visit a lot of museums look into the 'Friends of the Uffizi' card. It saves you standing in some long lines.

Prisco offers optimal access to all Florence, being in the city center, but also near less touristy Oltrarno & western portions. Miki & Franco are so hospitable & welcoming, & the info packet really helped enhance our culinary & shopping enjoyment.
We were conservative, w/o being too miserly, with electricity, gas & water (the stove & dishwasher work great!). The bill for the two of us, at the end of a winter-weather week, was only 25 euros extra. The bedroom was silent as a tomb, expansive, great storage. Living room & kitchen areas a bit noisier from street sounds (ear plugs and nightmask care of this). Shower pressure & water temperature, excellent. Bathroom nice & roomy. Washing machine just fine, Internet access great. Chandeliers gorgeous to behold. In all, well-appointed, nicely located and extremely comfortable, like visiting a relatives' home in Italy.
A few tips: 1) You deserve it: On your 1st day, spend 30 euros or less on flowers & enjoy the cheer & brightness it brings to your apt. each day of your stay. Takes 20 minutes tops. 2) Knopf map guides are totally the best, in addition to Rick Steves. 3) Forget bringing home meats, fruits or veggies of any kind. Cheese is OK, honey & tea. We learned the hard way at U.S. Customs, trying to bring in shrink-wrapped cinghiale salami. 4) Pay 100 euros for an Amici degli Uffizi membership (60 euros, single) to skip lines, reservations, admission fees at Uffizi, Pitti, Boboli, Bargello, Accademia, etc. It's good for a year, & easy to get when you arrive by visiting entrance #2 at the Uffizi. Took 10 min., saved hours & $. 5) The people and traffic watching from Prisco are bettern than TV! 6) Cook, some nights! That kitchen is the bomb. All the basics you need for a fresh-pasta feast from Mercato Centrale.
Overall, we'll be more than happy to return to Prisco, and to our fantastic hosts Miki and Franco. We're hoping it's available if we need it, but won't be surprised if it's not-- It's a great property! -

MinnesotaLoved our stay, would absolutely try to book this place again
Left on 02/01/2010 for a stay in December 2009
The apartment is quite lovely. It is not only very spacious but it is filled with
all kinds of amenities and very much feels like “home away from home.” The
hosts could not be more accommodating. The location is wonderful—within
easy walking distance to all of the major sights of the historic central city
and we easily walked (with luggage) from the train station to get there. One
big plus, despite the fact that you overlook a busy pedestrian street, is that
the bedroom is absolutely sound proof (with windows closed). It was
extremely peaceful, right through the holidays. Italy Perfect was just about
“perfect” in giving information and answering questions and being all-
around helpful in the whole process.
Two minor challenges. First, we blew a fuse and had not been informed that
each room has a small fuse box (in the front room it hides behind the main
door and is at eye level). It was an easy fix but we were “in the dark” for a
bit of time. Second, while the hosts warned us that electricity was
expensive, we found out the gas was even more so. While we didn’t use the
very nice gas stove extensively, we were rather surprised at the amount (50
Euros) we were charged at the end of a short stay in addition to our “utilities
allowance,” making it something like $10 every time we cooked something!
Even so, we loved our stay and would absolutely try to book this place again
on our next visit.Response from Italy Perfect - 02/01/2010

We are so pleased these guests enjoyed their stay, thank you. We'll make a point to show future guests the fuse box. The €50 incurred for gas, which averaged about €6/day during their 8 day is about average in December, in the thick of winter, keeping in mind that the gas covers the heating expense, the water heater & the bathroom's heated towel racks too, not just the stove gas. When you factor all of that in, the additional €6/day is not out of the ordinary for December in a country that has some of the highest energy costs in Europe. Lisa, Italy Perfect

Left on 01/31/2010 for a stay in October 2009
Overall, the Prisco rental was perfect. The location was ideal, a short walk to
everything. The neighborhood provided everything we needed, shops, food,
people watching, etc. We used the local bakery, and other shops for all our
goods to prepare meals. The La Spada restaurant was a great family spot,
besides providing delicious roast take-out food. Marione, downstairs, was a
disappointment - crowded, rushed service, touristy atomophere. Your guide to
local services and shopping was accurate and helpful.
Miki recommended Giovanni, another incredible neighborhood eating
experience. Miki was also available and very helpful when needed. We made
short excussions to Fiesole, Lucca and Siena, and found it very easy to make
bus and train connections. Our stay at Prisco was very positive. What we
enjoyed most was having a local base from which we could visit the
memorable sites of Florence at our leisure. Thanks for everything. -

Left on 01/03/2010 for a stay in November 2009
The medieval town of Firenze is certainly a destination to experience, just as
important though are the accommodations you stay in.
Prisco was incredible from being immaculate and a well-appointed
apartment to its location~ smack in the middle of everything! Furniture
comfortable and kitchen appliances in great condition. The bathroom
modern and soooo nice!
Our host Miki and Franco (absolutely delightful and supportive) have added
special important touches we Americans like. From the body and hand soap,
extra toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels, bottle of water, wash cloth for
face, dish soap and drying rack for clothes. The bed linens and towels, very
fresh.
It was important for us to have use of a washing machine right at the
apartment. There was even an extra bathroom in the common area, along
with internet availability.
Walking right out the front door of Prisco two fabulous bakeries, eating
establishments or take out food. We could hardly believe how close we were
to our favorite restaurants, Il Latino, Sostanza, Harry's Bar, Rivoire, Hotel
d'Artes and Quatroleoni! And shop till you drop as its all around you!
Twice we traveled for the day to other towns and having the train and bus
station down the block was so convenient. Actually right across from Prisco
is a substation where you can inquire or purchase train tickets.
Its important to remember that electricity in Italy is outrageously expensive
~ so be aware and frugal with the usage.
Last but not least, Lisa at Italy Perfect was a kind on-going support person
prior to our arrival, then again after departure with the follow-up. A
pleasure to do business with her and Italy Perfect.

We found the accommodatons very nice and comfortable. The only drawback
was the ice maker did not make ice very well and we Americans like our ice and
it could not be purchased anywhere. We thought the lighting in the living
room could have been better as we did a lot of reading for places to visit, etc.
The bathroom was very up-to-speed. The location could not have been any
better - it was close to absolutely everything and all within walking distance.
The stops and restaurants were great and right at hand. Everyone was very

Lisa was so very helpful and professional throughout the planning stages
and answered all my questions which were so much appreciated.
The apartment is perfectly located in the fashion shopping district (which
for me was not a good thing, but I kept my promise not to splurge and I
didn’t) close to Via Tornabuoni, is about a ten minute walk to and from the
Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station and it's on a bus route as well and
you can walk to all the major sites that Firenze has to offer. The apartment
itself suited my needs perfectly as I was traveling solo. The apartment is
fairly quiet for it being in a very busy thoroughfare. The apartment is very
attractive, had a lovely welcoming basket of wine, chocolate, etc., the room
was a good-size, very comfortable and it had everything I wanted with a
modern bathroom. And if you’re wondering, the apartment building has an
elevator, so no need to struggle with your luggage up the stairs. You can
keep in touch with family and friends or get caught up on the latest
headline news with easy access to the internet with the computer work
station just outside your door.
As Firenze happens to be my favorite destination in Italy I’m already
thinking and planning my next trip to Italy and will definitely book my stay

The location and apartment itself couldn't have been better. The 3 of us were
quite comfortable, and the second bathroom down the hall was very handy. We
appreciated having the internet and wireless available. The location was great,
right in the heart of the city center. The only drawback was the noise. We kept
our windows open because it was warm, rather than use the air conditioning.
The noise late at night from the other apartments was significant. Bring your
earplugs or shut the doors! We were met arrival and well oriented. I had
private Italian lessons for a week at Istituto Italiano nearby and it was great.Response from Italy Perfect - 11/29/2009

In addition to the bathroom off the Strozzi bedroom there is an extra bathroom for the exclusive use of Strozzi or Prisco apartment guests down a private hall. You are likely to hear the neighbors when guests & the other building residents have their windows open, as you would anywhere in the world where there is close quarters, an adjustment for travelers who are accustomed to living in private, standalone suburban houses. Left on 11/29/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This apartment was in an excellent location in Florence. We were extremely
grateful to Miki and Franco who helped us out immeasurably with our lost
luggage - which required waiting for delivery over three different days and
too many phone calls. They were very very sweet, warm, comforting and had
a great sense of humour - even when helping us struggle with a phone card
problem. They seem to love what they do, and we were lucky to have their
help.
Miki and Franco also smoothed our stay with respect to tips re travel- bus
to Siena, train to Lucca - and offered lots of helpful information about
restaurants. The trattoria we frequented the most was the the Antique
Carrosseria which had great pizza for the kids and overall delicious meals.
On the other side of the river - a great family friendly pizzeria was Dante's
and the best gelato we had in Florence - on the corner , at the river,
contemporary design, but can't remember the name. Also have to mention
the best meal we had - truly superb - also a short walk from the apartment
at Gustovino.
The apartment was certainly big enough for a family of four, the air
conditioning not nearly as expensive as we thought and the building, of
course, very quiet. The cafe at the ground level two doors down was
excellent for your morning macchiato. We did shop for a few things nearby
- but favoured a likely all to expensive fruit martket in between the two big
piazzas.
All in all a great 7 days, and without Miki and Franco we would have not
been able to enjoy most of it, nor see nearly as much art! Thanks again.Response from Italy Perfect - 11/29/2009

My mom and I were returning to Firenze to visit my little sister in the last
few weeks of her semester abroad. I too had lived in Firenze over 10 years
ago, so I knew the area that apartment would be located in. As the taxi
pulled up I was very excited to see that the apartment was not only
wonderfully located but it was right down the street from one of my favorite
places to eat (La Spada=astounding food!) Miki and Franco were waiting for
us with open arms, and a bottle of Vin Santo. They explained were
everything was located and left us feeling cared for and well taken care of.
The computer room was a huge plus as well as the loaner cell phone. The
apartment itself was wonderfully laid out and had an abundance of cooking
supplies. Though it would have been nice to have a DVD player in the unit.
We did enjoy flipping through the satellite TV channels. It was great being
able to wake up make a cup of coffee and just relax in the living room. My
mom enjoyed meeting our neighbors and exchanging stories of their
travels. The location of the apartment was great as well seeing that it is just

Our stay at the Strozzi apartment was most enjoyable. We stayed 8 nights
but reserved an extra night at the beginning to ensure we could get in and
take a nap after arriving from the States early in the morning. Calling from
the Florence airport was easy and communicating with Franco on the phone
was not a problem as his English was fine for telling him we had arrived and
would be taking a taxi to the apartment shortly. Both Miki and Franco were
extremely nice and showed us the whole apartment on our arrival. The
apartment was extremely clean and well maintained. We didn't do any
cooking but we were shown a good selection of equipment for cooking in
the small kitchen armoire. The bed was comfortable (something I find rare
in Italy) and the extra pillows available were a big bonus. The shower was
large and had good water flow with plenty of hot water. Laundry detergent,
hand soap, bath gel and shampoo were available. A complementary bottle
of Chianti and water were also provided. The location is great - just two
blocks from the Piazza della Repubblica and within walking distance from
all major sights in Florence. The apartment was quiet with the exception of
a neighbor who watched TV past midnight several nights. You could hear
the sound in the bathroom. I didn't notice it at all in the bedroom but my
husband who's more sensitive to sound at night did. Still, we would stay

The Prisco Apartment is a great property with loads of room and very
comfortable. The weather was a little cool I'm sure that in warmer times of the
year to open the windows overlooking the street would be very nice. Franco
and Miki were extremely accommodating and it was pleasure to have met
them. They explained everything upon our arrival even to the point of verifying
the utility meters readings.Response from Italy Perfect - 01/06/2010

We can't say enough wonderful things, but let me start with
a few: First, the owners were so efficient, kind, helpful and
answered questions immediately. Upon arrival, the greeter
was very prompt, efficient in showing us the layout, gave
detailed easy instructions on the use of everything and
where special things were located in the neighborhood.
We were given cell phone numbers and names to call with
English speaking people in the event of a problem.
I think it is noteworthy to say that before we left the US,
Lisa sent us very detailed written information regarding: the
apartment, the neighborhood, how to use all equipment,
specialty stores in the neighborhood, life in Florence. It
was very extensive and extremely helpful. It proved to be a
timesaver.
My husband and I felt location was extremely important
and this place was in the center of it all. It was a perfect
home base. Close to museums, restaurants, stores -
everything! It is also a very short walk to the train station.
The home looks like it is shown online and you can
certainly appreciate that European feel once you enter the
home. It is well furnished everywhere and the kitchen has
everything one needs. The views out the window are great.
The flatscreen T.V. had news from the US if interested. The
bedroom is very large with furniture everywhere and, more
importantly, it seals sound from the outside street
completely. We were impressed!
We rented apartments in 3 cities on this trip all through the
VRBO website and I must say that renting an apartment is
more cost effective in the long run. You can have your own
breakfast, drink your own coffee when you want and
lounge in your jammies if preferred. We loved going to the
markets where everything is fresh and just down the street
and found it to be more fun to live among the locals, going
to their favorite spots rather than being in "tourist mode."
What we liked least: LEAVING FLORENCE !

Woodbury, MinnesotaA clean comfortable home away from home
Left on 11/17/2009 for a stay in October 2009
My daughter and I spent a wonderful week in Florence and our stay in the Strozzi apartment made is a comfortable one. The first thing I noticed was how very clean the apartment was. It was nice to have a living area and separate bedroom with spacious bathroom and even a dressing area. Strozzi faces an inner courtyard which is quieter than facing the street. There were a couple of evenings, when people staying across the courtyard from us played their music very loudly but it really didn't bother us since we liked that kind of music!
We felt very secure at Strozzi knowing that we were in a building with an outside locking door, down a hall with its own locking door and on the third floor (U.S.). The elevator came in handy when we came and went with our luggage, but other days we used the stairs and convinced ourselves that we were walking off all of the great food we were eating. The apartment is very centrally located and we walked to everything we wanted to see with no problem. We took advantage of the use of the mobile phone and it worked well for our needs.
There were only a few small problems we encountered. There are three computers in the shared area, however only one was able to get internet access. The other two seemed to need reconfiguring. Also, we could not get the printer to work when we wanted to print out boarding passes. The other small issue was with the kitchenette. Instead of a kitchen, Strozzi has a four-burner stove, sink and small fridge located in the living area in a large armoire-like cabinet. The two back burners didn't work and neither did the fridge. There is however a fridge located in the dressing area that did work. If you intend to do any meal preperation at all, the cooking facilities at Strozzi may not be enough. There was no work surface area and it was a bit tricky to juggle various kitchen chores at once.
Over all, we had a fantastic visit and would definitely use Italy Perfect again. The comfort and convenience of a centrally located apartment beats out a hotel every time.

I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful time we had in the Prisco. After walking Florence for two weeks, we decided the apartment was in a perfect location for us, with the sights and shopping to the east and the train station (which we used alot) on the other side to the northwest. Via della Spada is quite the neighborhood, with most of what you need within a block. We patronized and made friends with the merchants on the street. We loved the elegant apartment, which felt quite like home after two weeks. We were very sad to leave. Miki was great to us.
We plan to return to Italy next year in late spring, and hope you will help us plan the accomodations. If we stay in Florence, it will be the Prisco for us (assuming Miki will have us back)!Response from Italy Perfect - 11/12/2009

The Michaela apartment is a wonderful small space located in the heart of old Florence. Great location! Little bakery downstairs on the street. The owners, an Italian couple, greeted us at arranged time and showed us around. They left us their phone number, and their son's who speaks English even better than they do. They stopped by again for checkout the evening before we left. Free internet computer when it was working... about half the time.
Away from the street in a very solid building, so quiet enough for good sleeping. Modern restroom. Cooking facilities. Fold out couch for a bed is pretty comfortable, especially after a red eye flight from the U.S. My only complaint was that the waterproof mattress cover made the bed a little sweaty for me. Well, one other complaint... the chairs for the table are a cool fluorescent modern color, but kind of small and uncomfortable for those of us who weigh more than 150 pounds or so. Everything else, fabulous! Wonderful to have our own little apartment instead of a hotel room - makes the whole stay feel more "authentic". -

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Prisco and thought the location was excellent. A significant issue, however, is the amount of night-time noise from the streets. The mopeds, cars, and people combine to form a deafening roar that is so loud it's funny! It was a bit quieter between 4 and 6am...
Response from Italy Perfect - 08/27/2009

We are happy these guests enjoyed their stay and location and understand about the noise. Since their stay in 2006 double-glazed windows were installed in the bedroom in December 2008 which significantly reduces the noise. Our website states "Please note that this is a bustling neighborhood filled with cafes, restaurants and a pub nearby. If you prefer a quiet location, please bear this in mind as the windows overlook the street below where pedestrians can be noisy. The bedroom has double glazed windows which helps to reduce the noise".

I wish I had more time to expand on this comment, but suffice it to say that the Strozzi was the perfect place to experience the real Italy. The staff treated me like family, I felt that my accomodations were home for me. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and unique: like any Italy vacation should be. What I liked best was being in the middle of busy Florence, and still able to blend into the fray. Just writing these simple comments has drawn me back to Florence in spirit and I wish time and money was limitless so I could be there again soon...at the Strozzi. Ciao!

We were warmly greeted by the hosts, who also gave us many wonderful restaurant suggestions.
The home is beautiful and quite spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The only thing I would suggest is better lighting for reading in the evening.
The location is fabulous - right in the heart of the shopping area of town, but the windows are nicely equipped to block out any pedestrian noise. It's great to have a bakery right downstairs, as well.
We would definitely recommend it! We imagine that the additional two suites in the apartment would make a fun arrangement for family and friends to share the vacation. -

The owners of this apartment were very nice and helpful. Having air conditioning that worked very well was fantastic. You couldn't beat the location. Walking distance to many sights and great restaurants. Only issue was the "kitchen" nothing seemed to work correctly except for the frig which was a life saver for yogurt/milk etc. Having access to a computer was great for our teenagers to connect with their friends in the US. I would stay here again with the mindset that I would not have access to cook anything. I recommend getting a new american style coffee maker for the apartment.

We are pleased that this guest enjoyed the Strozzi apartment. The efficiency kitchenette has a small refrigerator & an electric stove with 4 burners. A second, larger, refrigerator is located elsewhere in the apartment. All are in good working condition. An American style coffee maker is available to all guests upon request as stated in the guest information. We're sorry to hear that this guest had trouble working the appliances & wasn't aware that an American coffee maker could be requested. The greeters will promptly help with appliance instructions if asked.

Renting the Michaela was a very good experience as it is in a secure location and surrounded by a great neighborhood and good restaurants. It is small but fit our needs for a three night stay. The fold out bed was a bit short for my companion (who is 6'3") so if you are tall you may want to rent one of the larger places with a real bed.
I will definately rent this unit again when I return to Florence. -

Upon arriving we were met by the apartment's former owner and her soon to be daughter-in-law. Throughout our stay they were frequently around and made us feel as if we were visiting much loved relatives. The apartment was lovely. Very comfortable for a family of 4. The bonus was having a washer and air-conditioning (although it was malfunctioning at the time) and access to three computers. Near the apartment is a great bakery for breakfast items, a nearby casual restaurant, and down the street a great take-out food place. The chicken there was so good we went back twice. The next time we are in Florence, I would definately stay there again.

From beginning to end our visit at Prisco Apartment was perfect. We found the extra information provided by Lisa very helpful. Upon our arrival we were greeted and welcomed by Miki and Franco. Not only were they absolutely charming, they explained everything!
The apartment itself went far beyond our expectations. It was a privilege to stay a few days in Miki?s family home, with its grand old-world Italian charm. We couldn?t have asked for anything more. The hosts at the Strozzi were so warm and welcoming upon our arrival that
our travel exhaustion slipped off our shoulders! The apartment is located in a
wonderfully central spot in Florence. We easily walked all over the city.
Wonderful cappucino and baked goods right across the street. Numerous
cafes and restaurants nearby.
The apt is comfortable and easily met all of our needs. The washing machine
was really helpful. Lots of great travel books which helped us determine what
to see. It was also very quiet with the one exception of our first night when an
apt in the building was having a party.
If you want to cook and have a view this apt isn't the best one for you. If you
want to hear lovely church bells from all over the city , walk everywhere and

How wonderful to be right in the heart of this bustling city! Step outside
the door and feel the energy. But inside, the Strozzi is quiet and calm -
nicely isolated from the streets below. Our hosts were so friendly and
helpful, and the apartment was such a comfortable place to be. We feel
fortunate to have found Strozzi - it's absolutely an ideal place to stay, and
feels so much more "real" than any hotel could be. We found the apartment
to be within easy walking distance from the train station, after arriving
from Rome. And we were able to easily walk to museums, restaurants -
whatever we wanted to see - during the week we were there. We highly,
highly recommend Strozzi and Italy Perfect!
Couple of notes: (1) The ability to do laundry right there in the apartment
facilitated our decision to fly to Italy with only carry-on luggage - our
friends were amazed! (2) The toilet paper rolls furnished by our hosts
seemed to have relatively few sheets on them; when we realized we were
going thru toilet paper at an alarming rate we bought some more "normal"
rolls at a local store. -

Florence was magical - as was all of Italy that we saw. The Prisco

believe how close everything was once we started walking around town - 5
minutes from everywhere! It was a little noisy in the evenings, but we felt
close to the heart of the city that way. The musician outside gave us a free
concert every night - now if she would only learn a few more songs!
Miki and Franco we very welcoming and nice to have close at hand if we

The bakery downstairs was wonderful and the rosticceria up the street had
wonderful meats. The central market was a treat to shop in and Il Latino

Florence is definitely a city we will visit again and hope that Prisco will be

Thanks again for all of the train reservations and suggestions - everything

We, two middle aged ladies, spent seven nights in Strozzi apartment in late October,2008. Every contact with Italy Perfect went smoothly and cordially. The apartment is in the midst of a high end shopping and restaurant area of Florence, which is safe at all hours of the day and night. The apartment is secluded over an inside courtyard and is very quiet. You would never know that you are steps away from the epicenter of busy, touristy Florence. The local property managers are available by phone or in person each day and are very helpful. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and feels like a beloved home, rather than a rental apartment.
We plan to return to the Strozzi apartment in another year, and it will feel like returning to our own home. We loved every minute of our tenancy there. -

I was in Florence to study Italian and was looking for an apartment relatively close to my school so Strozzi fit the bill. Since it was January and rainy and damp, the fact that the heating worked very well was important. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have two TVs, one with CNN and the other in my bedroom where I studied so I could have Italian on in the backgroun. The owners was so nice that she moved a desk with a desk lamp into that room. It was right by the radiator so I was always toasty warm while studying. The apartment is quiet and peaceful and the elevator is helpful when one is tired from walking all afternoon. There are nice trattoria's in the area where one can have lunch and dinner and also places where there is take out food to reheat in the microwave. The large Standa super market is a bit of a distance but there is a smaller local shop near where one can get the basics (and also a great bakery practically next door). If I go back to Florence, I will definitely stay at Strozzi!

I particular liked the location (within a 5-10 minute walk of the Duomo and the Piazza delle Signore), the Internet room outside my door, and the nearness of restaurants, bakeries, and small shops. Miki and Franco were extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, and the room spotlessly clean.
I would stay in the Michaela again in a heartbeat. It is the perfect apartment for a single traveler or a couple. -
