All we hoped for and more!

Left on 06/12/2013 for a stay in June 2013

Visiting Tuscany was a long-held dream for us, and staying at Villa Gemelli was absolutely perfect. Susanna and Mario, our hosts, were so attentive and helpful in every possible way. From picking us up at the airport late at night to driving us to get our car rental, they were wonderful. They were like family to us, and we loved talking to them. The villa was lovely and just what we hoped for. The garden was a beautiful refuge to relax in. All around us were vineyards and olive groves. We even had a Nightengale to sing to us. A dream come true!

A wonderful place to experience Italian hospitality.

Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013

My sister and I had a great time at Villa Gemella. It was peaceful after a day of exploring Florence and other Tuscan cities. Susanna and Mario's advice on what to visit was much appreciated. The meals we had there rivaled anything we had in the restaurants. We went to celebrate my sister's birthday and Susanna and Mario made it a birthday to remember. A wonderful place to experience Tuscany.

A great jumping-off point to the best of Italy

Left on 05/11/2013 for a stay in May 2013

First and foremost, Susanna and Mario were gracious, accommodating and did everything to make my sister and I feel welcome, enhance our stay and remove any barriers to having a great vacation in Italy.

The location was superb, allowing for recovery from the pace of Florence. Travel was easy, with Mario and Susanna providing transportation to Fiesole. From there, it was very easy to get to San Marco in Florence and move on from there.

The accommodations were great. After a long day of hiking through Florence, the sauna was a nice treat to soothe aching muscles. Susanna cooked amazing meals, true to the Tuscan area. The villa is immaculate, well-appointed and lovely. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

      Fiesole vacation

Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Susanna and Mario were very accommodating to receive us. I was originally going to arrive at 4pm then 6pm because children wanted to make a stop to their grandparent's grave more south in Italy (bicultural marriage Italo-American). They waited for us in centre of Fiesole. I appreciate that. We arrived and immediately the kids felt at home. There were videos and Susanna welcomed us with foccacia and sausage. She showed us the apt. We stayed two nights and could have stayed more...
The only thing that I regret on a human level is that I had a friend from Ireland who was meeting me at last minute in Florence. I asked the hosts if he could stay with us. We could pay more (1 woman 2 kids + 1 friend) The answer was an affirmative no. I dont understand this as the apt is very large and can accompany 4 or more guests.
So despite my goings and returns to my guest's hotel into Firenze to find my Irish friend, we only confirmed that the stay was ok. Kids liked it though.

We appreciate very much the nice family of Kristine, BUT we wish to POINT OUT that our previous email Agreement were about 1 adult and 2 childs.
Kristine asked by email if we could host her Irish friend and I answered by email that it was not possible It was not a matter of price, Agreement is Agreement and we know that our house is not accessoried to host 4!

      Very nice location

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013

The property is very nice, with beautiful interior and very nice views in the garden.
Equipped with all you need, owners are very nice and helpful.
The only problem was the heating in the house which was not enough to keep us warm, the temperature could not be adjusted from the panel we had in the apartment because it was not working. The owners said it was cold in the house because we have left an window opened over the night in the kitchen, but this was not the reason at all, the door to the kitchen was closed all the time.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

      Little piece of Tuscan heaven!

Left on 02/08/2013 for a stay in October 2012

My boyfriend Jason and I stayed at the Villa Gemella in Fiesole on October '12. This was my very first trip to Italy. I wanted a place where we could immerse in the Italian culture. The Villa was a perfect start to our journey through Italy. Susanna and Mario are such wonderful people. They were so warm and welcoming. They became like family after just a few days of stay. Jason and I took the bus from Fiesole to Florence most of the days. It's only about a 10 min. ride from Fiesole. The other days we stayed at the Villa. I recommend not having a car. Mario and Susanna are so helpful. They dropped us off and picked us up. The Villa is absolutely luxurious. It's peaceful and serene. We had breakfast everyday and dinner on select days. Absolutely delicious! The Villa has all the amenities I am used to in the us. The pictures on the website are just a glimpse of the villa and surrounding areas. It's breathtaking to be there. I hope time allows us to do it all over again. After Fiesole, we went onto Cinque Terre, Venice, and Paris. I miss it all!

Beautiful surrounding areas! Gorgeous olive trees in the front yard! Appetizer that I couldn't get enough of!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Gemella. Suzanna and Mario were the perfect hosts; it was like spending time with beloved relatives. Also, their knowledge of Florence specifically and Italy in general was a great help in our travel activities.

The apartment was new, spotless, and very comfortable.

We really look forward to a return visit!

      Heaven on earth

From the moment we arrived at the villa we knew we had hit the jackpot. We were hoping for a true Tuscan experience and this is exactly what we got. We were greeted by the most amazing hosts Susanna and Mario and they welcomed us into their home like we were family. We travelled with a 6 moth old baby and she spent just as much time with them as she did with us. The property is set in the most spectacular part in Tuscany. Surrounded by rolling hills covered with sprawling vineyards and olive trees. Just or short trip into Florence and even closer to the most charming little Tuscan town - Fiesole. This was comfortably the highlight of our 6 weeks European holiday. Since we've got home, we have already recommended this accommodation to friends and family. And don't forget to take Susanna up on her offer to cook you dinner. Better than any restaurant in Italy - seriously!

      Go to Villa Gemella...

Left on 09/23/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed at Villa Gemella for two nights and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. Staying with Susanna & Mario will make you feel like you are meeting up with old friends...

Our first view of their house was everything we hoped it would be: beautiful green vineyards surrounding their classic Tuscan styled home. They gave us a quick tour of the apartment as we tried to contain our excitement: spacious bedroom with comfortable bed, modern kitchen, bathroom with sauna, and living room with any kind of wine you would want to try!

Both nights we ate outside in the backyard at a table which sat right in front of a tall row of sage trees. Quite the ambient table setting: lantern candles, fresh grapes, utensils wrapped with giant grape leaves...again, it was everything we could wish for. We wish we could package the dinner atmosphere so we can take it with us...just awesome!

The first supper we had homemade tagliatelle? and pesto. It was so good! Fried balls of bread (Coccoli? They were excellent!), fried sage and zucchini flowers with bruschetta made up the rest of the meal...all topped off with homemade vanilla-almond ice cream. Everything was made at home. Fantastic!

Our second night we had the most amazing ravioli as well as stuffed tomatoes, caponata, and pizza. We still say that the food we had here was the best we had on of our vacation. The food was absolutely amazing! It was also really interesting to hear them explain some of the history behind each dish as well.

Both breakfasts we had were simple yet memorable: espressos, toast and croissants served with fig jam and honey. Their villa also offers many photo opportunities: alot of vineyards with grapes, olive trees, mountains, old Tuscan buildings, long winding roads, and excellent sunsets.

We wish we could have spent more time here: you will do very well by choosing Villa Gemella for your vacation!

Excellent sejour à la villa Gemella

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in September 2012

A Must Stay - Fabulous Tuscany Experience!!

Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Our stay at Villa Gemella was one we will never forget. The owners, Susanna and Mario, were very hospitable - we felt like part of the family! The apartment is clean, spacious, modern (but still with Tuscan charm), all the comforts of home with a private entrance. There is a nice patio area off the front porch which over looks the olive tree garden and vineyard views. We used the complimentary bicycles on numerous occasions to go sightseeing. And if we wanted a ride into Fiesole or surrounding areas, Susanna and Mario were readily available to drive us.

When we arrived we learned that Susanna offered home cooked meals in their quaint garden - thank god we said yes, as this turned out to be one of the most memorable dinning experiences in all our travels!! The food was amazing and the ambiance even better. They had a beautiful teak patio set out back with country style settings, candles, wine, flowers... all just for me and my husband - we could not have felt more special!!! We thought we had died and gone to Tuscan heaven!!

We would highly recommend Villa Gemella - not just for the great apartment - but for the opportunity to live just like the locals and meet people you will never forget.

Thanks again for everything Susanna and Mario!!
