Left on 09/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
As the last two of a party of nine to arrive late Sunday night, we were greeted by members of the groups & served a wonderful supper prepared by Donald & John. From then on it just got even better as everything about La Csscina, its facilities & location, was absolutely spot on! Donald & John themselves were brilliant, always so helpful, great fun & never intrusive; they were the other two members of our happy band. We had such a great holiday: an amazing combination of all our friends & a fantastic villa, we would thoroughly recommend.

A really exceptionally comfortable and well appointed villa with nothing lacking. Beautiful pool in a serene and beautiful environment. Donald and John were exceptional hosts They were always on hand but not intrusive and incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole atmosphere was low key and relaxed. I would definately recommend La Cascina to others.

This was our second stay at La Cascina. Donald and John are excellent hosts who did everything possible to make our holiday memorable. They gave us information about local walks, trips to ascoli Picena and seaside resorts, markets, restaurants, etc. We have stayed in several villas and this is by far the best - recently renovated to the highest standard with top quality linens, furnishings and art work plus every kitchen appliance you would want. Most of our time was spent relaxing in the pool and around the villa and indeed it is hard to drag yourself away - it is so wonderful. Thank you Donald and John - you think of everything!

Stayed here for two weeks with 10-12 people. Donald and John gave us a very warm welcome and looked after us very well. It's a great, well and nicely furnished house with a great pool and well equiped kitchen. Lots of nice little villages and restaurants in the area. Very quied, but who needs to see other people when staying here? Although the beaches are about 40 min drive, they are worth it (especially Pedaso). And don't forget to take a hike in the Sibillini Mountains!

This was such a treat of a holiday, I am truly miserable that it is over. From booking onwards Donald & John were charming and personable and maintained their sense of humour with us, even with a disaster strewn arrival.
Stand outs of this holiday rental are:
Inside the home:
Chef quality kitchen (incl. properly sharp knives and great gadgets). Beautifully appointed house, with quirky homely touches like picnic rugs, luxury beach towels, Ikea highchairs
Massive DVD and book library
High quality linen
Just so tasteful!
Outside the home:
Stunning views
So much history that you don't quite know where to explore next
Great restaurants with excellent local produce
Locals who aren't tourist weary and issue a 'Brava' if you poorly trip through a bar order.
Festivals at local towns every weekend, which are well worth checking out
attractive local dignitaries
We are a well travelled family but this stood out to us over and above the other houses (10+) we have used over the past few years. It is particularly well appointed and saying 'We will be back' is not an empty promise.
Ciao and grazie mille.

La Cascina is one of those idyllic spots that you dream about but never seem to be able to find ! The panorama is breathtaking. From any place on the extensive property you get a perfect view of the hills and valleys and the numerous little towns perched on the mountain tops. The property is immaculate. From the beautiful grounds, to the clean pool, to the living quarters, "there was a place for everything and everything was in its place" ! Donald and John were great. Their hospitality is outstanding and they made sure all of us (11 family members in total) felt comfortable and were looked after for our entire stay. They are very knowledgeable of this beautiful area of Force, Ascoli Piceno so they were able to make many recommendations about good restaurants, shopping etc. We really appreciated their hospitality.
Thanks, guys! You're the best. We all had a great time and hopefully can come back some day.

This was the perfect vacation home for our group of 11. After spending 8days sightseeing in the Veneto Region, LaCascina was the perfect choice for 11days of relaxing and visiting our relatives in Force and ascoliPiceno. The home offered everything we needed for our group and for a party we hosted for 40 guests. The setting of the home, the decor, the landscaping and the views were beautiful. Homeowners, Donald and John were very attentive, accommodating and knowledgeable. A car is essential for getting around to the many lovely small towns, going to the beach, sightseeing, or for dining out. We all felt extremely comfortable during our stay, none of us wanted to leave and we all look forward to returning. Our compliments to Donald and John for creating such a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable home.

Everything about La Cascina is perfect! This is undoubtedly the loveliest villa we've ever stayed in. The attention to detail is superb and the quality throughout is exceptional. We loved the views, the pool, our meals on the patio and the tranquility - it was everything that we were looking for. We thought Tuscany and Umbria would be unbeatable but Le Marche surprised us with with all it had to offer and we'll definitely be back to explore more of the area, including the fabulous walks in the Sibillini Mountains.

I know it is a cliche to write 'fantastic holiday, wonderful house, brilliant location'- but the simple truth is that La Cascina is all of these. In fact I am reluctant to write this review and let you know how lovely it is, as we hope to return very soon.
John and Donald have produced a stylish and comfortable house, combining attention to detail with practical needs. The layout of the house allows space for entertaining as well as solitude, and despite being a group of 4 adults 4 children, we never felt overcrowded.
The area is unspoilt: dramatic mountains in one direction, beaches and warm sea in the other. Not too hot, even though it was august, and the beautiful pool was perfect.
John and Donald were fantastic hosts, catering for our every whim, and happy to share their knowledge of the area: wine, shopping, eating, markets and festivals. -

Living in La Cascina for a week was - in all matters - a fantastic experience. We were a mixed party of five persons - from my 2½ year-old son to my mom (59). We flew from Copenhagen to Rome, rented a car and took the about 3 hour long ride towards Force in Le Marche, which was no problem at all. Indeed a beautiful ride.
When we arrived in the evening, John and Donald gave us a warm and very personal welcome (including a bottle of premium local wine, bread, milk, butter etc.) and told us all about what to see and do in this region, suggestions on where to eat true italian food, great steaks, ice cream... you name it.
You instantly feel very appreciated and "home".
I have rented great places around in Europe. This is definitely the most amazing of them all. A fantastic house - totally refurbished - but all made with an extraordinary aesthetic sense for the detail and with respect for the "soul" of the original Italian farm house. When stepping outside to the pool area, you feel like stepping in to a film set. The overwhelming luxury, the amazing mountain views and the blue sky with high key light. Sparkling wine & easy life in harmony with nature... Well, of course, the crew and cameras are all missing, and only the nearby cattle is overlooking you. Fortunately!
We starred in our own film about the rural, yet luxurious, true Italian farm life. Chilled in the pool, enjoyed the nearby landscapes and especially the medieval villages - all with first class ice cream and espresso shots! (Well, you are in Italy!) We bought premium local produce and made our own gourmet food every evening both at the BBQ and in the spacious kitchen, which is great to work in.
All in all, La Cascina is simply... perfect.
Grazie et ci vediamo!

Scottish Borders and AberdeenLa Cascina- A treat in Le Marche
Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We found a stay at La Cascina to be a real treat. John and Donald have thought of everything! The house and gardens are beautiful- a slice of luxury but also very comfortable and ever so relaxing! The views from both terraces are spectacular- you can see hilltop villages and watch rural Italy go by!, and what with the pool, we found it very hard to tear ourselves away from our life at La Cascina. However, we did manage to, and found there to be several (very Italian) towns and villages to explore nearby and ascoli Piceno, the very elegant and historical Province capital is only 1/2 hour drive away and worthy of a visit. On our previous visits to La Cascina we drove slightly further afield (3/4 hour drive) to the adriatic coast which has some very Italian seaside towns, which are also rather chic with plenty of shops and cafes!! About the same distance away, but a drive that is rather more challenging! but nonetheless worthwhile, are the spectacular Sybilline mountains. However, the lure of La Cascina, is too strong to linger away for too long!! And so finally, though perhaps the best!? were the evenings at La Cascina. They too were spent on the terrace- eating and drinking (it is Italy after all!!) enjoying glorious sunsets, followed by clear and starry skies and all of this from the comfort of our very own dining table!! What a treat!
We'll be back...

La Cascina is a beautifully restored farmhouse set in tranquil countryside. The owners have taken great care to provide the best of everything - it exceeded all our expectations. All mod cons with top quality furnishings, linens, artwork etc. plus a crystal clear swimming pool. Donald and John (the owners) were always available for up-to-date information on all local events, markets, places of interest and so on. We are hoping to return next year.

The house is amazing and far more comfortable and luxurious than we expected. We got great use out of the swimming pool and appreciated being told of nearby amenities and places of interest by the owners Donald and John, who were not only helpful but very friendly. The views of the surrounding mountains and villages are stunning and change wonderfully as night falls and the lights begin to sparkle. We went for a week, but wanted to stay forever...!

I have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at La Cascina with family and friends and would thoroughly recommend this stylish villa to those who wish to experience a relaxing holiday near Force, Le Marche surrounded by spectacular scenery. Both Donald and John had a warm welcome for all of us and could not do enough to make sure that our stay was enjoyable and stress free. Their thorough knowledge of the area and recommendations of places to see and eat enhanced our holiday greatly. The accommodation was beyond our expectations, thoughtfully restored to retain the charm of the former farmhouse whilst ensuring that the villa is well appointed, spacious both inside and out with a good sized salt water pool surrounded by attractive decking and planting. Truly comfortable accommodation with tasteful decor, eclectic furnishings and artwork. All in all a haven of tranquillity.

We travelled as a group of 5 friends from Scotland. Our directions from Donald and John were great and we managed to find our way there without any problems. We also chose to fly to ancona and the journey up to the house is an easy one that took us around two and a half hours. We were met on arrival at the stunning house and within no time were sitting sipping Gin and Tonic looking over at the hilltop villages. The house itself is so comfortable and well equipped. The beds were exceptionally comfortable with really lovely cotton bedlinen. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the whole house was immaculate. We could have been tempted to stay there the whole time but we did explore the surrounding area and Donald and John had lots of tips and information about places to go. We visited some beautiful towns and villages like ascoli Piceno, Montefalconi where we sat outside local cafes and sampled Italian coffee wine and great food. The house was so perfect to return to after a days exploring with its fantastic swimming pool and on the one day we had a storm, the woodburning stove. There are stunning views from all the bedrooms and coffee in bed with the window open was a real treat! The area has good local shops and markets and the house is so well equipped that a couple of nights we cooked and ate at home.If we had been there for longer it would have been great to hire bikes and also to do a bit of walking in the Sibilini mountains but we ran out of time. You do need a car which means that if you want to go out at night there needs to be a willing driver but we just shared that around and it wasn't a problem.Would totally go back!!

What a fabulous home, beautifully decorated with great style. Fine attention to detail & careful thought to ensure this is a real home from home. eg Dvd's, wood burning stove, games room etc etc
Donald & John will provide lots of useful advice & info re places to visit & local attractions - our favourite was the caves! Just ensure you layer up as it can be pretty chilly underground!Best value for larger groups, ideal for 2 families travelling together. -

La Cascina was a great choice. While looking through the many villas in Le Marche we just had a feeling this one was going to be special and we were not wrong. This was our third time to le Marche and by far the nicest villa we had stayed in. The interiors are right out of House and Garden and the outside space is spectacular. The salt water pool was a joy as the water didn't sting our eyes and felt very natural and free of chemicals. The sunsets in the evening over the Sibbilli Mountains where breathtaking. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a perfect Italian getaway with the family.
Donald and John were so extremely helpful, assisting us with everything from where the best restaurants were to were the local doctor was. It was like having concierge service!
We will definitely be staying in La Cascina on our next holiday to Le Marche.

Donald and John have thought of every possible detail in this villa to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You don't even have to think of bringing a book to read, with a well stocked library, we were spoilt for choice! Lovely decor and furnishings, just converted so everything is in immaculate order.
The location of the villa rose above our expectations, on the side of a hill, overlooking an Italian mountain village, reminiscent of a romantic Italian film. If you want a holiday which is typically Italian, away from the tourists and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside then this is the perfect choice. There are plenty of restaurants, tucked away in small mountain villages, fantastic scenery amid the Sibillian mountains. If you have children family beaches are not more than a 40 mins drive away. -

Fantastic House - just like we see in the House and Garden or Lifestyle magazines. Plush and stylish furnishings, all the creature comforts of a 5 star hotel whilst still feeling homely. Great sunny secluded area with the inground pool, games room , Poolside cabana, unending and uninterrupted views of the mountains, plowed fields, forests and no nearby neighbours.
We were a 20 minute strollto the village or 5 minutes by car.
The owners John , Donald and there faithfull pet Jake were very friendly and helpful in giving us ideas of things to do if we could tear ourselves away from the property - which was hard as it was so well set up and comfortable - shame we had to go out to shop otherwise we were all very happy to just swim, read, listen to music or sit mesmerized by the views.
