Additional Location Information
Location: Tanglewood Villas, South Forest Beach,Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, (45 Minutes from Historic Savannah, GA or Beaufort, SC)
When you arrive on Hilton Head Island you quickly understand why it is called an “Island Paradise”. You will be surrounded by lush tropical flora, several varieties of palm trees, manicured public and private properties and the smell of ocean breezes. Even commercial enterprises are tucked away to enhance the natural beauty of the island.
From Tanglewood Villas you will love the short 900 foot walk to the beach or the 1200 foot walk to Coligny Plaza, replete with bubbling fountains, restrooms, island shopping and dining experiences, and another access to the ocean and public beach. You may park your car for the week and walk or ride bicycles to restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. Taking advantage of some great photo opportunities during the 1 ½ hour dolphin cruise will make very special memories. You will see playful Atlantic Bottle-Nosed Dolphins up close, along with other native birds and sea life. You will see the impressive, luxurious yachts docked in Harbour Town Marina or “on the hook” in Calibogue Sound and enjoy passing sail boats, parasailers, wave runners, kayakers and paddle boarders.
Your Visit To Historic Savannah…
…begins with a 45 minute ride under a canopy of ancient Oaks draped with Spanish Moss. When you arrive in historic Savannah, you will find tourist-related businesses as you do in any place that attracts a lot of visitors – T-Shirt shops, carriage rides, walking tours “hop on-hop off” tours, beaches, boats and so on. But you will also find the friendliest locals and a city, due to its original planning, that is a comfortable place to visit, to absorb the past, revel in beautiful architecture, squares and parks, and interesting sites not readily available anywhere but in the south.
Savannah was founded in 1733 by James Oglethorpe, who arrived from England with 114 settlers. Lore has it that those 114 were poor, persecuted men and women who were seeking a new life in the new world. This turns out to be just one of the many myths connected with Savannah’s history. Savannah’s roots are pre-Revolutionary War, ancient in America’s terms.
Savannah has also been home and hometown to a number of luminaries: composer Johnny Mercer, poet Conrad Aiken and inventor Eli Whitney, to name a few. More recently, Baryshnikov has danced here, John Travolta and Tom Hanks have filmed here, The PGA Championship Tour is played here, and if you’re smitten with Savannah’s celebrity cook, Paula Deen, you can dine at The Lady and Sons Restaurant. A walk down River Street will give you a sample of great southern cooking and atmosphere! You will always remember your visit with history.

Owensboro, KYReady to return to HHI!
Left on 10/15/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My family and I had a wonderful week at Bob's Tanglewood Villa. The villa was equipped with a lot of "extra" conveniences (wifi, game system, DVD player, etc.) which made it ideal for vacationing with children. The walk to the beach took no time at all and the proximity to Colligny made it easy to grab a quick lunch or dinner. We were also able to take advantage of the dolphin cruise. This was the cherry on top of an already wonderful vacation package!
Leading up to the week, we received a lot of quick and helpful communication from Bob which alleviated any anxiety about the trip.
We will definitely contact Bob when we decide to return to Hilton Head. If you're considering this villa, you will not be sorry! -

Battle Creek, MIEverything was wonderful!
Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Bob, the owner, saved our family vacation. We were currently staying in the Panhandle of Florida when Isaac was coming that way and we were told we had to evacuate. We had to leave the next morning and here it was about 8:30pm! Where in the world were we going to find another rental somewhere on such short notice? (less than 24 hours) My daughter and I found Bob's place on the internet and shot him an e-mail at 10:30pm. To my amazement, he texted me the next morning at 7am saying that he would love to have us at the villa on HHI! Bob kept in contact with me via text and e-mail during our whole stay and even took us on a dolphin cruise which was the best part of our trip!! The condo had everything I was looking for; extremely affordable, clean, wifi, washer/dryer, 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, close to the ocean, outdoor pool just steps away and being close to Coligny shopping area for groceries, shopping and eating was fantastic! Also, having the keyless entry is great since you don't have to worry about losing keys! I have rented through owners before and have never found an owner who has cared so much about the people renting his place. Since my family and I had never been in the area before he sent me an e-mail listing lots of options on what to do and where to eat which I found extremely thoughtful and helpful! Thanks again, Bob...you are the best!

The condo is great. Within walking distance of the beach and Coligny Square. The pool was great and well kept up. Kids loved seeing the gator in the pond. Roberts dolphin cruise and his knowledge of the area is great. An excellent vacation spot.

Our family had a great vacation staying at this villa. It is close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and groceries. It is very clean and up to date. Bob is a great guy and so helpful with everything. We got to know some of the other families staying in the other villas and learned they book again and again every year because they love this location. The dolphin cruise was a highlight of our vacation. Thanks Bob for everything! We can't wait to come back!

Thank you Calhouns for a wonderful stay last summer. Hhi is always a nice visit but your villa was a really nice home away from home. Close to the beach, family friendly environment and comfy cozy after a day of running around. Thank you so much for your hospitality! The dolphin cruize was a great way to start our week. You both really treated us like family and that means so much!! I wish you both many blessings in 2011! Sincerely, Tamra Beaty...and family ;)

Chattanooga, TNFavorite Fall Vacation Place
Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in October 2009
The week we spent at this Villa was one of our most memorable vacations. The location of this Villa is the best part. Our family rented bikes the whole week and barely used our vehicle. It was so great having the pool, beach, restaurants, grocery store, and more so close.
The kids loved having a game system to play when we had some relaxation time.
My wife and I were very pleased with the cost of our stay in comparison to those we saw at other locations. Plus, the customer service we received from Bob was stellar.
The value we received for our money was well worth it. I would highly recommend staying here and I can guarantee you we plan to stay there again soon.

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in January 2010
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bob and Pat's condo. It has been very well maintained and is in pristine condition. The owner's call to check and make certain everything is ok with their guests and are genuinely concerned and caring people. The area is kept clean and neat and we always felt safe. We'd give this condo the highest rating possible.
