We have stayed at the Forestville Guesthouse for several years and always are amazed that Peter and ana continue to find more ways to enhance the overall experience. Now they have added a private parking space and pathway to the cottage; brilliant! One of my favorite things to do is to take my morning coffee down to the garden and wonder about. Every season brings a surprise; this visit the apple and persimmon trees were loaded with fruit. The Renkows have thought of everything to make the guesthouse the place we always head to when we need to escape to someplace quiet and beautiful.

We feel like it was an incredible bargain. To pay such a reasonable price for a unique hide-away with accessibility to vineyards, hiking, biking, Napa and Santa Rosa all in one was fantastic. We have never found a hotel that could offer a such great location with with such beauty, piece and quiet. There's a extra bonus for coffee lovers. You must try the naturally grown coffee at Roasters in town.

Stayed here the first two days of our holiday, which was an excellent start after a 12 hours flight. It is a very relaxing and quiet place, beautfiul surroundings, but very close to Forestville to get your daily supplies. The cottage is simple but stylish, and has everything you want a holiday home to have: swimmingpool, hot tub, bbq, bathroom, even a tv and dvd player. The owner was not at home during my stay, which was not a problem at all, as was clearly described how all things worked and what could be done in the region. Highly recommend this place and would defintely come back here again if I'm in the neighbourhood.

My wife and I spent an amazingly restful few nights at Pete's Retreat. We loved the incredibly bucolic setting, the tasteful decorations, the comfortable bed, the swimming pool. And of course the proximity to the natural and manmade (i.e., wineries) wonders that Sonoma County has to offer. This place truly rocks!

This place is absolutely perfect - no better way to describe it. The kitchen was well equipped, the loft cozy anc comfortable and the hot tub; lots of privacy with lots of stars and a rooster next-door to serenade you in the morning.
Pete was attentive and gracious. Just down the street is a coffee wagon open every day at 6. If you're there for wine, the location in Forestville is central to every region of the Sonoma area.
I can't say enough about this place. Thanks Pete!

We had a lovely stay at Pete's Retreat and Guest House. The centrepiece of our journey to California's wine country was riding the 100-mile Levi Leipheimer Gran Fondo, and the comfortable loft in the country was the perfect place to relax and build up the bike before the Fondo, and recover from it afterwards - hello, hot tub!
The cottage is clean, quiet and well-equipped, with wifi, a gas bbq, full-size fridge, and plenty of maps and guidebooks to help us plan wine tours and a visit into San Francisco. There's even a selection of board games in case you just want to hunker down away from it all.
The Renkows are courteous hosts who made sure everything was in place for our arrival and then left us to enjoy our time from then on. -

You know the minute you get out of the car that your stay is going to be perfect. The landscaping is amazing and the cottage is perfect. Even though you are right next to the main house you feel that you are in your own little world. After a day of wine tasting we came back and relaxed in the hot tub with a cold bottle of wine. It doesn't get any more perfect than that. Our stay was wonderful, so wonderful, that when I got back to Texas I started looking at Forestville real estate
I would recommend Pete's retreat to any couple, both young and not so young. It is within minutes of a dozen wineries. But even if you didn't come for the wineries it is the perfect place to just sit back and relax. There is a great farm stand a few miles down the road and all the amenities you need to make it a perfect weekend. There is a great selection of maps, reviews and lists of places and things to see and do. Which was what we needed, since I neglected to bring anything with us. As my husband put it, "I wish we could stay here forever".

Andy's Produce market on Hwy. 116 is a culinary adventure! It is a wonderful market that started out as a roadside vegetable stand and now offers virtually anything you'd need for a meal.

A nice cozy place for a getaway. It's right next to a main house but it feels secluded. Great for relaxing and exploring the area. Recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We are a young couple (22 yrs.) Stayed for 2 nights last may. Very clean and comfy. The hot tub was amazing, and the Renkows are super nice. Great place to do some wine tasting (10 minute drive). I recommend bringing bikes. We had a blast we may be back sometime.

Good point! We are indeed in a lovely place to bring bycicles to ride. There are extensive bike trails and the locals are used to people riding the Wine Road on bikes.

Above I have clicked 5 stars and here I will state why. People just need to get themselves to this Property and Guest House. We met the owners ana and Peter Renkow and if there are better people on this planet I would like to meet them. Ana and Peter gave their all, their love, their local knowledge and experience of the area. Amenities from the 2 story guest house which is super clean, an upstairs relaxing longeroom with TV, Cable and DVD, downstairs Shower, toilet and sleeping area. Extras that were with the guesthouse, a beautiful hot Spa outdoors with brilliant views, a heated swimming pool and property that is to die for. Forestvile is very close to Santa Rosa and of course the Nappa Valley. We found our day trips to the city of Sanfrancisco an easy trip each way and found to come back each night to ana and Peter and their home was a terrific end to a day for the peace and relaxation. We had a child of 14 years of age with us who hunted out and got on with Peter and ana extremely well. Ana and Peters local knowledge was brilliant where they advised us of day trips to take including the Russian River, other local townships and craft shops. Nothing was too hard for either and I could tell they love their property and they love the people that stay with them. They do not get in your way or interfere in any way unless you want them to. For us, we wanted them to be part of our stay. We nicknamed ana, Mrs Sanfrancisco, as what she did not know about this city, did not matter. Ana knows exactly where visitors should go and when to go. People, don't hesitate, book now and get to this place, we will be coming back and we are from South australia.

We strive to make our guests comfortable and welcome. Some of our guests come to us for complete privacy and we never meet one another. Other guests come to us with the intention of meeting us and asking for our guidance of what is offered in our locality. We enjoy both situations and look forward to many more people finding our accommodations!

After 40 years together, we got married, and spent our wedding night in the (reasonably priced) Forestville Guest House, where our hosts were thoughtful, caring, and unobtrusive. The cottage itself is beautifully done, communicating warmth and hospitality. The bed is cozy and comfortable, and appealing original art by a Sonoma County artist hangs on the walls. We had the exclusive use of a hot tub, with a great deal of privacy, from which we could see and savor the serene, woodsy Forestville landscape. We can't imagine a more satisfying place to have spent our wedding night.
