The Classrooms – With its high ceilings, original sash windows and chandeliers provides a spacious, light and airy atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The apartment is furnished to a very high standard with luxurious soft furnishings and high quality furniture. It maintains the historical, traditional feel and character of the Old S...chool but has all the modern conveniences you require to make this a memorable and pleasant self catering holiday.

Overlooking the lawns and the Caledonian Canal to the mountains of the Great Glen beyond this is your ideal holiday destination for any occasion.

The apartment is well suited for families of all ages as it is situated on the raised ground floor of the Old School building.

This luxury two bedroom apartment is one of only a few apartments with a separate lounge which with its newly installed fire provides a cosy atmosphere.

The lounge is furnished to complement the character of the building with high quality traditional soft furnishings and has a well stocked library of books, dvds and games. It has a SKY + satellite TV and DVD player available as well as free high speed broadband WIFI for your own computer.

The rooms originally used as religious education and 1st form classrooms now form the lounge and master bedroom.

Situated within the twenty acres of grounds and at the waters edge is the Boathouse restaurant and all this is only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Fort Augustus village with its shops, pubs and hotels to meet your everyday needs.

The Highland Club facilities are available to guests during their stay and include an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis court, large life size chess in the cloister gardens, children’s adventure playground, BBQ area, club room with full size snooker table, table tennis, boules, croquet lawn and adventure activities including clay pigeon shooting, archery, whitewater rafting and canoeing. The latter items are by arrangement.

Trout fishing is available from the grounds of the Abbey and the nine hole Fort Augustus golf course is only five minutes away.

Additional Location Information

The Highland club is in Fort Augustus in the recently converted Benedictine Abbey, which was originally the Fort.
The Architecture and history are absorbing, but step outside to see why it all happened here; the abbey is on the foot of Loch Ness with stunning views towards Inverness. One one side the Caledonian Canal with 7 locks bringing craft into the Loch, and on the other side the River Tarff.
The village is right outside the Highland Club gates and has good restaurants and pubs with canalside seating to watch boats from all over the world coming through the locks.
Follow the loch up either side to Inverness or follow the Great Glen Way to Fort William and Ben Nevis for a climb, but first try out the Abseiling, Canoeing and many other activities locally and at the Great glen Water Park
