What Past Guests Are Saying
We stayed for a week in the Chalet/Treehouse. You need to experience what a special, private Eden this is to really appreciate its' beauty. The pictures don't do the property justice. The grandness of the vegetation is astonishing. We felt like we were in Costa Rica. There is a virtual canopy of massive green leaves and palms hovering overhead. The chalet was absolutely perfect. It was clean, the bed so comfortable and the shower was really powerful, big and super clean. The owner was available at all times via phone. The location of the property was such a luxury. I walked to the beach one day (a healthy walk) and we could stroll to Las Olas no problem. We loved the beach chairs and beach towels too, very convenient. The labyrinth of a walkway that takes you to the Chalet was such a charming treat every time we walked it. We also loved the private driveway. We've learned, in previous Ft. Lauderdale stays, that parking is a huge problem and very costly ($28.00 a day at most hotels). We've always stayed at upscale hotels. Well, no more! We'll be returning, yearly, to this special place we call Eden.
Very nice house
The place is very nice. 2 nice bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, very practical. The location is great as well, very close to everything. Being a party of 5, the house is big enough and has enough space for everyone so that it never felt overcrowded.
It was nice being able to sit in the patio, hearing the water from the fountain, it was nice and cool during the hot days.
On the cons side, the bed in the elephant room was very uncomfortable, there is a hole in the middle of the mattress where you sink in and the bed squeaks loudly every time you move. Re cleanliness, the toilet boil wasn't very clean, obviously the keeper forgot to fully clean the inside of it. The house rules state that you must take off your shoes in the house, which we were all very keen on doing, but our feet got so dirty that we had to walk in the house with our shoes. Otherwise, everything was very clean.
Larry is very friendly and we were kindly welcomed when we arrived. He also was very helpful during our stay, giving us tips and letting us stay beyond checkout time on our last time.
This was the perfect solution for our needs
Larry was a wonderful host, very accommodating. We loved the cottage with it's unique decor and lush tropical, peaceful grounds offering a feeling of being at home and on vacation at the same time.
My husband and I (along with our two babies) stayed in the 1/1 Chalet recently. We had a very good experience. Before arriving, the owner was very thorough with the reservation process, making me secure that the great deal wasn't a scam! We arrived to a lushly landscaped home behind which was a cutely decorated apartment. It was equipped with pots, dishes, linens, and even beach chairs. The Victoria Park location is convenient for both shopping and beach going. The apartment was clean and comfortable and I would rent it again.

It was great, and a friendly host Larry! we will come back !
Such a Shame the Thieves Broke in
The house is a peaceful, secluded haven in a nice, well located neighbourhood that offers the visitor almost every facility they need.
Sadly it is known as rental property and the comings and goings of people are clearly watched by thieves.
During the very first full day of our stay the home was broken into and much of our computer hardware was stolen and our personal belongings were rifled through.
Not only did this leave a nasty taste in our mouths we always felt unsafe especially when leaving the property throughout remaining duration of our stay.
We lived with the constant fear that once again we were being watched and that when we returned the same thing would have happened.
We have subsequently been advised that the insurance policy covering the home covers only the home owners belongings and does not cover any property belonging to the renter.
The local police criticised the poor security in particular the glass panels close to the door handles to the front and back doors.
The police also told us they believe that the lush landscape interferes with the security of the house hiding it from the road.
There appeared to be an installed burglar alarm system with exterior signage suggesting the home was protected and guarded by a well known security company but, if the alarm system worked at all, we were not shown how to use it and if the security company ever patrolled the area they were never seen by us.
Despite our need to regularly visit Fort Lauderdale we are not be able to recommend this property as a safe and secure place to stay to anyone else.
We will not return here ourselves when we next visit Fort Lauderdale.
Instead we will return to the apparently safer option of renting accommodation inside secured multi story apartment blocks with guarded access by porters.

The Howorths are lovely jovial people and it is a shame that this crime happened to them...and understandable that they harbor some anger with the circumstances. Its also a SHAME that they chose to reflect that anger in the property score. Random theft can and does happen …even in the nicest of places, neighborhoods, & homes… and even to the nicest of people. If a break-in happens to a rental car…no one blames the car, or the cars windows, or the car rental company. In Mr Howorths own words, “The house is a peaceful, secluded haven in a nice, well located neighbourhood that offers the visitor almost every facility they need” Clearly, over the 4 years of positive reviews on the property, no incident has ever occurred and this was an isolated one. Everything possible was done to respond immediately to their needs…including speaking directly to the chief of police and the mayor. SO in conclusion I am unsure why this event resulted in low scores for cleanliness, hospitality, or overall quality of the property?
Fantastic bang-for-buck, relaxing and quiet, close to Las Olas
I had a wonderful stay on my stressful trip to visit my ill grandmother. Las Olas is just a few blocks away, and I highly recommend Rocco's Tacos for a pitcher of margarita with your colleagues! The unit looks better than both the photos and website.

Relaxing, Tropical Forest
Larry is great. We arrived from San Francisco and he was able to check us in early. The cottage is very spacious, 2 Beautiful bedrooms and 2 baths.1 with a jacuzzi tub. It was perfect since my parents would be coming down from Jacksonville. The cottage is centrally located to everything. 25 minutes to Miami and 10 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Fort Lauderdale.Las Olas is right around the corner, If you like to shop and eat.. I loved the Chefs kitchen, Great money saver to be able to cook at home. The back of the cottage was beautiful, Lots of trees and tropical plants. The sound of the waterfall is very relaxing.I was able to experience a beautiful down pour of rain with a little bit of thunder, I loved it. It lasted for about 30 minutes and then the sun was out for the rest of the day.Large screened porch for spending time with family was a plus. Laundry room as well.Check it out and enjoy your stay, We did!!! Louie and David San Francisco Ca

Peaceful and Relaxing!
We recently stayed at Victoria's Garden Cottage for a week. We had to move our daughter into her dorm and the Cottage provided us with a home away from home to enjoy some family time. The owners very were courteous and prompt. The Cottage was very comfortable and relaxing. The Gardens...what can I say but my favorite part of my day!!! So peaceful, relaxing and very ZEN!!! Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place and would definitely consider coming back again!

Comfortable, Convienient Cottage
The cottage had everything you could need , no running to the store. Super comfortable -(best i slept in years). Convienient to the beach, restaurants and stores. Great place to stay.
Couldn't be a better honeymoon
Me and my wife came from Finland for honeymoon and spent 10 days in the tree-house chalet. The interior and the whole property was very cozy and nice and although we were away quite a lot exploring the southern Florida, it was always a pleasure to come back and relax in the chalet. Larry was also a good host and kind enough to let us check-in almost in the middle of the night. Highly recommended!

Beautiful tropical oasis close to the best parts of Lauderdale
We give five stars (however the max this review allowed us to give was 4- please get that fixed)! The Cottage had everything we needed, extremely clean, very comfortable beds, beautiful kitchen, amazing landscaping and friendly neighborhood with several parrots hanging out in the big trees. Larry was very friendly, took really good care of us and let us check in early and check out a little late. I highly recommend Victoria Cottage.
Treetop Tropical Oasis
What I found was exactly how the Zen chalet was described on the website. The gardens were beautiful and peaceful and the chalet was cosy and very well equipped. Its in a great location for the shops, the beach is walkable although the bike makes it very easy. The arrival and spa packs were a great surprise and made it feel like a real home from home.
Larry, the owner, was very helpful through the booking and checking in process, clearly caring for his properties.
The chalet is perfect for couples and the nearby cottage which shares the grounds would be perfect for larger groups.
Delightful "treehouse chalet" in the charming Fort Lauderdale neighborhood of Victoria Park. Close to Las Olas shopping, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Galleria Mall and downtown Fort Lauderdale. The apartment is a second floor walk up behind an equally charming house (also part of the property) and secluded behind tropical foliage with sitting areas by a fountain and small pond. The property has been tastefully decorated and features a full modern kitchen, flat screen tv in the living area, and wireless internet. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and full walk-in closet. The bathroom has a tub with a shower and needs updating, but is fully functional. Larry, the owner, is very accommodating and checked in with us several times to make sure that everything was satisfactory. This is a great and inexpensive alternative to an impersonal hotel room, especially if you are staying a week and want some time to relax in a home away from home.

great time at the tree-house chalet
thank you for a wonderful and pleasant stay at your Tree-House Chalet in Fort Lauderdale. We enjoyed it very much and had a great time there.
A magical retreat in a garden oasis.
Just what we needed, beautiful gardens, superbly decorated chalet with every amenity. An extremely helpful host. A pleasant walk through the charming Colee Hamock to all the action of Las Olas Blvd. for fine dining.

Great Location and Beautiful House in Victoria Park
We had a wonderful time at this house in Victoria Park. It and the grounds were beautiful. Although it is a 2/2, the house is very spacious with lots of room to entertain. Thank you Larry!
A beautiful home away from home for our stay in Florida.
Victoria Cottage is a wonderful cottage that met all our needs and was a beautiful and welcoming place to come home to each day on our trip to Florida. The decor is very beautiful and inviting.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was beautifully arranged and clean. The area it around is also pretty and quiet, which we prefer. Overall it was a good vacation.
Home away from home
The thing we enjoyed most was the peace and quiet of our sorrundings, the garden, and the sky lights. The location might be lonely for some but it was fun and excercise to take the short walk to Las Oslas.
Home away from home
This home is located in such a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. I was completely happy with the house, such a comfortable place to wake up in, and it was close by to everything, which was convenient for me. Mr. Kaplan was such a great host, a very patient and understanding man, and I would definitely recommend this place to others in the future.
great area/ great cottage
Great area. Great location. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, inviting, and well planned out.
It is in downtown Ft. Lauderdale in Victoria Park. I was close to the beach, great restaurants, great walks, and shopping all within walking distance. .
If you wish to escape the city life, go to the back yard, and you will be in a jungle.
a little piece of heaven
My husband, daughter 22 years old and myself loved this cottage. It had it own unique personality letting you lose yourself in a relaxing weekend. My family really loved playing the old board game "The game of Life", eating breakfast in the garden, and relaxing at night in the enclosed patio. Larry welcomed you in and made you feel at home. The kitchen was excellant. Enjoyed strolling the neighborhood and if you like a quiet beach go on a weekday it was packed on Saturday. The restaurants in the area we visited was Latin and German and loved them. Hope to visit again sometime and would recommend it my friends.
We had a great time
at Victoria cottage. The house is beautiful and immediately felt like home to us. It was great to spend a few days in such a nice little oasis.
The Victoria Cottage is as advertised: comfortable, spacious, tropical,
convenient. The owner was helpful. The location is very good: short drive or
long walk to Las Olas and the beach. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with

Wonderful Experience 100% satisfaction
One month long awaited vacation to see how it might feel being retired. It fely pretty good. My wife and I felt like we were at our own home in our own neighborhood. The local residents we met were all very gracious and very friendly. The layout of the place was excellent with the kitchen and enclosed porch really a perfect setting for evening meals and lunches. The outside was a very pleasant hideaway for reading and just relaxing. Private but yet not remote with Las Olas Blvd an easy 6 block walk with great restaurants and activities and terrific restaurants.
Overall a really great experiences that we would highy recommend.
Bike riding a must with the beach only 1.5 miles away.

The Perfect Oasis
Finally someone who truly knows what a vacation property should be! The Victoria Cottage was everything I never dreamed of in Florida. It is an example of what a luxury vacation home should be. The outside space is peaceful and has a waterfall surrounded by a beautiful Indonesian garden, and wonderful lighting. The beautiful walkways allow for tropical exploration. The spacious modern kitchen has all the amenities necessary for entertaining. The bedrooms are a therapeutic experience in themselves: double-spout shower at either end with stone flooring, a sun roof that allows you to become one with nature, and lots of sun. This spacious haven is ladened with soothing colors and furnishings. The neighbors are extraordinary!
Amazing, very beautiful house!
This house was perfect for our stay in Ft. Lauderdale. We stayed for a little under a week and there was pretty much every amenity we could ask for. The decorations are beautiful and we really enjoyed spending time both inside and outside. It has a very comfortable and relaxed feel to it and amazing landscaping that really makes you think you are in a jungle bungalow (the waterfall and bridge were great conversation pieces). The decorator of this house must be very detail oriented!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will be coming back next time I plan on visiting Ft. Lauderdale.
Night life and restaurants are in range of a 10 minute walk or a very short car ride.

Amazing Oasis in great location
I chose to stay at the Victoria Cottage because I thought the photos looked nice and was looking for an affordable vacation in Fort Lauderdale. I was blown away with how nice the place is on the inside and out.
There is complex artwork on the walls. I do not mean hanging on the walls, the art is painted right in. The attention to detail and creative design make the whole place feel like an art exhibit.
The furniture and beds were really comfortable. I have stayed in other rentals where they get the cheapest stuff they can find. That was far from the case here. The kitchen is upscale and there is a screened in porch area which is where my family ate most of our meals.
The big highlight of the cottage was the property. When they call it an oasis, they are not kidding. It is very well kept with tons of palms and other tropical foliage. It reminded me of staying in a fancy Caribbean resort with the pond, bridge, fire pit, etc... For being in the middle of a neighborhood, it felt very private and secluded.
