Montreal, CanadaExcellent value in good location

Don't disregard this place because of previous bad reviews! I would like to offer our perspective.
First of all, if you look at the price of this property you will see it is much less than others in the area. For the price my husband and I felt we got a very good deal. I specifically disagree with one of the previous reviewers who said it's "really bad". This is inaccurate. Is it a luxury property? Certainly not. But you aren't paying a luxury price. While I understand security issues may be upsetting, I would give the management the benefit of the doubt that it was an isolated mistake. We had no issues and felt the property was secure and in a safe and quiet area.
Furthermore, understand that while recently renovated, this is an older building. This has pros and cons. Yes there were a few minor maintenance issues but we never heard our neighbors! (Good old construction). These minor issues did not detract our vacation in any way.
The exterior of the property is quaint and charming. Much more appealing to me than the generic high rises that surround it. We felt the unit tastefully decorated and effectively supplied with all the necessities plus a few extras we weren't expecting. The bed and other furnishing were reasonably comfortable. Internet service was great and cable selection very extensive.
The location is far enough from the "strip" to be peaceful but close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants/bars. However if you don't feel like walking most places of interest are less than a $10 cab ride away.
My only criticisms would be the lack of a phone. This was not an issue for us but I can see how it might be for others, especially if visiting from abroad.
In closing I would like to say that this property might not be for you if you prefer to have 24 hour "supervision" and need to have things absolutely perfect. I for one am glad that we had the option of staying here because otherwise we may not have been able to afford our vacation. It's not a 4-star hotel, and we didn't mind that. Anyone who has traveled extensively and/or has experience renting apartment-style accommodations will not be disappointed with the property. -

This property was apparently recently acquired by a Swedish re group but has not nearly been renovated enough to jusify renting it to the public. There were several shocking discoveries upon our arrival at the unit. The sink counter was broken and the unit furnished with the cheapest (and least comfortable) Ikea furniture. It was really quite dirty. Unfortundatley we had previously reserved the place for a three week vacation and there was virtually no flexibility with management to transfer to more adequate accomodations. I also agree with the comments about the lack of proper security. I recommend you seriously investigate this property ande ask questions about renovations before renting there.

Great, cozy place with easy walking distance to wherever we need

Loved this little condo for an inexpensive but clean, comfy short stay in Ft L. We could bring a few of our own groceries and not have to buy all our meals, since we had a micro, mini fridge and toaster oven. (There was silverware, though we did buy bowls and mugs to leave for the next guests since those were not provided. They are now!)
The neighbors were friendly and the staff was excellent. We were able to walk to close restaurants or the beach and could have walked to several of the local museums/nature areas if it hadn't rained the whole time we were there!
Great place and we'll likely use them again!
Loved being able to use a specific code to get into the room rather than remembering a key. Very handy and simple. -

No registration centre was a bit disconcerting but the code provided worked and we entered at the appointed time.Furnished by Ikea some time ago, some of the kitchen cupboard doors were off their hinges .Bed was 10 inches off the ground, not the best for us oldtimers.Only one armchair and few utensils for cooking and cutlery was limited. We think if we had phoned, then more would have been available, but there was no phone. In an emergency,we would have had a real problem.

We only stayed here one night, since we were flying out of FLL airport the next morning. It's pretty close to the airport, maybe a 15 min drive. It's quiet, and clean. We would stay here again for a week or so at the beach.

We booked months in advacne and were emailed our room number and the 4 digit code to get in. Weird, how many codes do they have for a room? We get there and went to our room, put in the code and opened the door. There were already people staying in that room, clothes and luggage everywhere. I had all my paperwork, but there was no phone number to call and nobody on site. Luckily another guest had managements phone number. I called and told them the situation and they said they moved us to a different room. I never received any emails telling us our room number had changed. They told us our new room number and code. It worked. The room was pretty clean, but I didn't sleep well wondering if someone had an old code to our room and would be able to come in during the night. Decent location for the price, but we didn't feel safe or secure at all. Luckily we were only staying there for one night.
