atlanta, gaexpect little from this condo
Left on 06/25/2009 for a stay in June 2009
i was misled by pics. it is indeed a small condo on
ground level. you can't see the ocean. not clean.
dead bugs and everything. no dishwasher. no l/d (says
it has private l/d). filthy sleeper. the only way to
make it sense would be the price were like $30 per
night. otherwise, stay away from this condo. -

On the owner's website, it stated :newly updated, partial gulf view, 200 or so feet from the beach. All of this was not true. The condo was not very clean, dead bugs on the floor and the paint was peeling in several places. The partial gulf view was laughable. From the front door there was a parking lot and from the sliding back door you have a view of the back of another condo and a parking lot. In the distance you could see a flag that might have been on the beach. 200 feet or so to the beach- It was more than 200 feet to get across the parking lot that you had to cross to get to the beach. The property was not as we were led to believe and we luckily were able to get a different one. I would never have rented this property if I had known what it was really like. When we arrived and complained that it was not as the owner stated, we were told we should have looked at their website, also. Pretty much, it was our hard luck for not double checking. Didn't realize I needed to.
That being said, someone else might enjoy staying there, if they knew ahead of time what they were getting. Basically, it is a small condo, but livable, quite a walk to the beach-as I said you have to cross a parking lot and then the beach is still a good walk, no view of the beach, but it did seem family oriented. If that is what someone is looking for, then this is a good place. That is not what we wanted and not what we were led to believe this property was like. This was our first time to rent a property from an owner and not a hotel, and we will never do it again. We wound up spending a lot more money than we had planned and it was very upsetting at the start of our vacation. I am just very happy there was another opening somewhere else. -

Frankfort, KYRelaxing beach condo
Left on 04/29/2009 for a stay in April 2009
Enjoyed close access to the beach; long beach walks. Enjoyed staying in a condo rather then a hotel. The kitchen and living area was convienent. Condo was clean. Linens could be upgraded. About 13 miles out of town so restaurants were a drive in every time. Nice rental for a reasonable price. It was a peaceful environment and I would recommend it.

PRATTVILLE, ALGOOD WHILE IT LASTED
Left on 11/05/2008 for a stay in September 2008
We spent a couple of days here during Labor Day and the room was nicely done. I was a little scared in the beginning b/c some people we knew had rented the unit, HOWEVER, since then the room had been completely remodled which made this room great. The tile was new and fresh and the interior looked fresh as well as the furniture and decorations were all up to date and looked great. I would recommend this room to anyone and will stay in this room again.

We really enjoyed staying at Gulf Shores Plantation. This was our first stay there and it was great! Our condo wasn't as fancy as some, but the price was right (and it was very clean!) and we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the outside space too. I do think people should realize that Gulf Shores Plantation is about 12 miles from the resturants/tourists things in Gulf Shores, but that is another reason we liked it! We will be returning!
