Point Clear is a Duplex with 2 units each sleeping 10 for a total of 20 people if you rent both.
Our home, Point Clear, is a beach front duplex in the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, AL but the home is named after a wonderful bay side community of just south of Fairhope, Alabama. The community of Point Clear is home to several wonderful golf courses, many oak lined bike trails where you can enjoy the beauty of Mobile Bay on one side and the architectural history of Alabama on the other.

This home is in the secluded Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Fort Morgan is a area about 10 to 20 minutes west of Gulf Shores, AL. The Bon Secure Wildlife Refuge is in between the For Morgan area and the city of Gulf Shores.
Why would you want to vacation in the Fort Morgan Area? This is a great area if you want to be away from the crowds and simply relax quietly on a very secluded and uncrowded beach. The beach here are also pet friendly if you would like to bring Fido along for a vacation too. In Fort Morgan you get the best of both worlds, private uncrowded beaches and the tourist nightlife of Gulf Shores just an easy 15 minute drive away.
Why would you not want to vacation in Fort Morgan? If you want to be in the heart of everything in town the 15 minute drive could be cumbersome for you.
Point Clear A sits next to four other beach front units managed by Harris Properties Management Inc: Catalina, Fountain of Youth, Point Clear B and Bellingrath.

Most relaxing stay we've had in a long time.
My husband & I have been coming to Gulf Shores for about 40 years usually staying in condo's. This house, althought a double, was perfect. We enjoyed being able to have our dog on Ft Morgan beach. The house was perfect in all aspects - it had everything you wanted. All the amenities, a porch, beautiful view, even the jets flew over daily from the naval base. It was the most relaxing stay we have had in a very long time. Getting away does not say enough. We plan to re-book for next year.
Great Spring Break Location
This is the second time we have stayed with Harris Properties, first time in Clear Point. My wife, daughter, father-in-law and I enjoyed it very much. There was ample room, great Gulf side views and easy to get to. It is far enough away from Gulf Shores proper that you are not intruded on my Spring Break crowd but close enough to get to popular spots within 20 minutes.
The amenities are great, cable, DVD players and WiFi.
Could not ask for much else.
Will stay again.
It is so, so much nicer than staying in hotels and about the same price when all things are taken into account.
Beautiful Beach Vacation
Overall, we enjoyed this vacation and staying at this property. The beach is beautiful, clean, and uncrowded. The house is directly on the beach, so you just walk off the deck and you're there. A few people came from across the road to use the beach, but for the most part we were sharing miles of beach only with other people staying at the other houses lined up along this street. The houses are mostly well-kept in different bright, summery colors making for a nice setting.
However, if you are planning a lot of activities in town you may be disappointed. This house is over 15 miles from the center of Gulf Shores - great if you want a quiet beach vacation, not so great if you were hoping to try a different restaurant for each meal.
Then there is the house itself. We were happy to find a property this size within our price range because we have a family of 6. After paying a fairly hefty cleaning charge of $150 (added on top of rental charge) we arrived and found that is was doubtful that anyone had been paid anywhere near that much to clean this house. While the linens & kitchen were acceptable, the carpet was dirty enough (mostly full of sand, not a great idea to have carpet in this area) that I wore flip-flops in the house. There were some other maintenance items needing attention such as torn linoleum, leaking door, and a tub faucet that pulled away from the wall. Most of these items were minor issues and after notifying management of them I was assured that they would be taken care of. Do not count on the wifi at this property! We had a faint signal on the deck & couldn't connect anywhere else.
So, would I recommend this property? Maybe. I would probably ask management about the last time it had been maintained, but for the price I was still pretty happy with our stay.

Since your stay, about a month ago, we have made significant improvements to Point Clear A that I hope you will come back to experience for yourself. We have: replaced the carpet in all of the bedrooms, changed the flooring on the stairs and upstairs hallway to a hard surface flooring, upgraded the WiFi system (this upgrade has been completed at all of our 17 beach home locations), replaced the flooring in the bathroom areas (current project as of May 7, 2012), installed new upgraded bath vanities (current project as of May 7, 2012), upgraded the bath mirrors (current project as of May 7, 2012).
