Miami, Florida, United StatesFabulous Location!
Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012
While the accommodations are 'comfortable' and 'easy', it definitely a place to stay - you just can't beat the location! We rented both parts of the duplex for my daughter's birthday and it was perfect. The kids could go on one side (teenagers) and the adults on the other - and they could watch TV all night long if they wanted - and we didn't hear a peep. The pool is awesome as a much needed retreat from the beach - which is just a short walk thru the sand dunes away. I highly recommend this duplex for family gatherings!

Left on 03/03/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We have rented the full Heron Duplex for the past 4 years in January. It is an amazing waterfront property on the quiet end of the beach. We bring our children and grandchildren and love the beach, location and service provided by Sun Palace.
The reason we are moving next door beginning next January is we now have 2 more grandchildren so a 6 bedroom is now needed.
We would recommend staying with Sun Palace!
Only request would be to have sun umbrellas available for decks!
Ron & Judy are terrific to work with. -

Fort Wayne INGreat ocean view.
Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in April 2011
Being on the ocean was great. Renting both sides is the way to go. Sitting on the porch and watching the ocean is hard to discribe. We had a good time. So did all the kids. We spent a lot of time by the pool. My husband would of liked a better pool net it kept falling a part.

New HampshireNice, but duplex interior needed work.
Left on 02/27/2012 for a stay in April 2011
Overall we enjoyed our stay there. Great location, views and layout! Love the pool in front facing the gulf and the elevated deck. Kitchen was nice & well equipped. However, there were a number if things which we felt could be better. First, the shower between the master and guest bedroom needs new tile. A light in there would be good too however, we did not use that shower at all because it did not look good. The other bathroom could use new paint and some pictues and possibly a shower update also. Second, the mattress on the sofa bed in the living room is absolutely awful and should be replaced with something you can actually sleep on. The Wi Fi did not work and the people next door said the same thing. We had relatives stay in another Sun Palace duplex nearby and theirs didn't work either. We liked the decor but felt there could be more pictures on the walls to create a more finished/cozier feel.
Finally, the folks next door were very nice. However they were from the local area so there were a number of friends of their kids visiting every day and as a result they tended to dominate the pool area and were often left unsupervised.
Thank you!

St. Louis, MOOctober Getaway
Left on 10/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Let me start by saying we had an awesome time and it was a great vacation. The one thing I liked the best about the property were Ron and Judith, the property managers. They were super attentive and always on hand if we needed anything.
The most disappointing thing about the property was the access to the beach. Because we have 2 little kids, this was the main reason we opted for a direct access home. However, the pathway which was partially paved, was then grown over by sea oats. Maybe in the summer time from more travelers, it is better kept. We had to use the public beach access area which was not far but defeated the purpose of ocean front.
The cottage has a spectacular view of the ocean and the pool was great. The location was also very convenient. Being a bit of a clean freak, I admit, I felt the cleaning crew could do a better job. Little things like, dirt behind the trash can, dish cabinets a little "smelly" maybe from unclean dishes, mold on the celing in the extra bathroom. It is a great property with lots of potential and a nice family place.Response from Sun Palace Vacations - 12/14/2009

Thank-you for your compliments. After you mentioned the overgrown path, I called the yard care crew & they cleaned it the next day. That cleaner has since been replaced and we have had training sessions for all of our housekeeping staff. Hopefully, the situation will not arise again and if it does, please call & we will take care of it immediately. Cheers: Ron.

Left on 07/05/2009 for a stay in February 2009
We had a wonderful time in Florida the month of February. Elaine was great to work with and Ron was "johnny on the spot" if you needed anything or had a problem. Our neighbors were also fun.
We hope we are able to spend a month next year.
P.S. Izzy, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, says she had a good time too.

We loved our stay at Heron Duplex and have absolutely no complaints. We didn't need to ask for a thing. It was clean and comfortable. The pool was great. We loved the privacy it offered as well as the beautiful beach and view of the ocean. The location was perfect for us. We walked the four miles along the beach to "Times Square" almost every day.We found many activities to enjoy within a very short drive. (We like biking, hiking, fishing, and shelling.) Renting both sides of the duplex allowed for a wonderful family visit with plenty of room for everyone. We look forward to visiting again soon.Everyone in our group of 10 agreed that we would love to stay there again!

Jacksonville, FlFamily Reunion Spring vacation ~ the perfect surprise!!!
Left on 07/03/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We loved our vacation in Ft. Myers. The Heron Duplex was all that we were told by the Sun Palace Vacation professionals. Rental fees and final cost ~ most manageable and reasonable...It is on the beach..with a clean cristal clear pool, which is cleaned to perfection daily. The accomodations are "beach like" super clean and organized. The towels and extras were more than sufficient. The management visted us, and was at our service throughout the vacation. We were more than impressed. *** Please replace all entrance doors - the really detract from the wonderful facilities, and the doors are not easy to lock or open. The are not in line with the superb accomodations and beach area. We would love to share our comments with anyone who want to know about your vacation homes. Dave and Susie Huber

Chicago, Ilneeds some updating
Left on 06/21/2009 for a stay in March 2009
havng rented both sides of a condo unit, i was able to see what a little updating could do. One side had kitchen cupboard drawers that would stick and the floor needed updated. It looked a bit worn. The master bath needed updating as well. There was still sand stuck in crevaces of the floor boards a well as sand on the dining room chairs. We loved the convience of the pool and it was very clean and kept at a wonderful warm temperature. All and all it was a wonderful trip. mark and joann Chassman

Thank-you Joann for your comments and you are absolutely correct. The north side kitchen was the original one before the house was turned into a duplex and the cabinets and doors are all solid wood. When we took over the management of the property in May 2007, we did a quick update that included removing carpet, buffing the wood floors, tile in the dining and back bath rooms, new toilets, vanities in the back bath rooms, paint, blinds and bedding. The kitchen and bathroom you mentioned are next on the list of upgrades.
Sorry about the sand. When I greet our guests, I make sure to tell them that my cell phone number is on the fridge and to call me if anything is not perfect.
Ron.

The north kitchen was been completely redone with cabinets and counters from Ikea in Oct. 2010. The floors have been refinished and there is a newly tiled shower between the bedrooms. Please see our website for new pictures.
