enjoy your meals or just reading a book or hit the pool and spa for some relaxation or for a little water sports. The
Kids are guaranteed to love the pool! You can rent a boat within one mile of the house to enjoy the gulf or back bays or walk 2 blocks to 7 miles of white sandy beaches on the gulf. Within less than a mile of the home there is also a movie theater, convenience store, restaurants and a bank. Within 1 mile is Santini Plaza where you will find wonderful shops, outstanding restaurants from the top seafood restaurant in the area to casual sports bar with great pizza - and they deliver pizza too! Never Leave the Island: Ft Myers Beach is an all inclusive island, you will never have to leave if you don't want to. Take a short drive or take the trolley system for .25 and head up to Time Square for some dining and dancing or some great shopping. Hit the beach for a walk do a little shelling (remember don't bring home a live one it's not legal)and watch the dolphins fish or the pelicans diving for fish or do some fishing yourself (no fishing license required at pier downtown) or simply plop down in the sand and just relax and watch the world go buy. You may even see dolphins or a manatee or two in the canal in front of the home. What a thrill.

I stayed at the Widgeon Cottage the first week of May 2013. It is a beautiful, well cared for property with all the amenities. I enjoyed coffee on the dock in the morning and relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. It is in close proximity to the beach for morning walks and beautiful evening sunsets. The owner provided wonderful restaurant suggestions that made for great meals out and all the kitchen supplies if you choose to eat in. A great place to vacation with your family or a quite retreat.

Great size house for our family. Kids loved the pool and spa. We had a lot of fun fishing off the dock and enjoyed morning coffee there too. Location is convenient to everything. We especially liked the access to the south end of the island so we did not have to go through north end pier traffic every night. Mike was great to work with and so helpful even when we had questions during our stay.

Widgeon Cottage was the best choice for our stay in Fort Myers Beach. The cottage was spacious and very clean when we arrived. The landscaping and layout of the property gave a serene and relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect distance away from all the hustle of main square (which is a short and convenient trolley ride away). The privacy of having your own dock right right next to a canal was very enjoyable especially if you just want to relax in the sun without the hustle of the beach. The beach is only a short walk distance (about 2 mins) gives the location of the cottage a plus. Having your own kitchen gave us the choice of either eating in or out. The area the cottage was located was very quiet and peaceful. Overall you get more than you pay for when staying at the Widgeon Cottage.

We found this home very well decorated and clean, warm and welcoming. The pool and hot tub are well maintained. Easy walk to the beach. Owner and his wife are super friendly, helpful and easy to work with. We would highly recommend this home for a fun and relaxing vacation. For lots of excitement try Paradise Parasailing. They are a great and fun group.

My husband and I loved our private stay at Widgeon Cottage on Fort Myers Beach! The full kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and well stocked linens made our stay very convenient. We enjoyed grilling out by the back waterway, swimming in the pool and relaxing in the spa. The cottage is also located in walking distance to the local Outriggers Tiki Bar and restaurant right on the beach which is a fun family friendly location. We also enjoyed: Good Time Charters Half day Everglades airboat tour with Corey Billie's, Naples Zoo at the Caribbean Gardens, and Sanibel Island's Tarpon Bay Explorers Eco Pontoon Tour.

We had a brilliant time here, the accommodation is lovely, well equipped, clean, relaxing, quiet and on the canal, which was beautiful. The pool and spa are just wonderful for all the family. The beach is just a short walk away and on the 4th of July it has to be one of the best places to be, we have never ever seen so many fireworks and the atmosphere was amazing. Close by there are plenty of grocery stores, bars and restaurants. We loved Fort Myers Beach Bowl(the owners were amazing), and if you like Italian food, we'd say go to Pastabilities. We contacted Mike to ask a couple of questions, he was quick to reply, very welcoming and extremely helpful. Thanks for that Mike :) We would definitely recommend Widgeon Cottage!! We'll be back!

A 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach and those wonderful sunsets, a dock to keep your boat at and a great living space with heated pool and jacuzzi. Who could ask for anything more? Plenty of room for 3 couples and all the amenities you could hope for.
Michael was great with helping us aboard and did a great job of taking care of any situation that arose.
This is a great place to relax and have fun. -

We had a wonderful time at this home! It's a very nice, clean house on the canal with it's own heated pool and all the amenities you need. The beach is within a short walking distance and there are two grocery stores right down the road. The homeowner was great throughout the whole process and quick to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this home to anyone with a family and plan on coming back next year!

My family and I just got back from renting the Widgeon Cottage for a week. It was perfect for our young family. The pool was wonderful to have for our 2 yr old and 7 month old, and the spa was perfect my husband and I to relax in after a busy day with the kiddies. The house was in excellent condition, very clean and well equipped. The location is ideal, everything you need and want is close by. Mike was extremely accommodating and helpful, and took the time to ensure everything was just right. We highly recommend the Widgeon Cottage, you won't be disappointed

Perfect location at walking distance from the beach (about 5 minutes) but quiet neighborhood.
Everything you need can be found in this house (washing machine, dryer, oven ...)

We have been going to FMB for several years, and this was our best rental ever. Great house, very clean. And the outside is all about the atmosphere. Relax and sun around the pool, or on the dock by the canal. Very private. Couldn't have asked for anything nicer. Mike was very helpful and great to deal with. Hope to rent it again in the future.

My husband and I were recently married and were fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful property to celebrate our honeymoon. The location was tucked away from the major road and it was a quiet neighborhood. The living area and master bedroom offered a tropical and romantic environment. The ease of having an available kitchen and amenities to prepare our own fresh meals was so great and there was no need to always eat out. Beautiful canal to enjoy the sunrises and sip morning coffee, easy to reach the beach to take a stroll or use the available beach bikes (available on the property), spent many evenings enjoying the sun setting and relaxing in the on property pool and hot tub.
-Thanks for making this an amazing experience and we cannot wait to celebrate future anniversaries and stay here again.

My wife and I and another couple recently stayed at Widgeon Cottage. We have stayed all over the island in the last few years...This place has it all. Pool,hot tub, canal , across the street to the Beach! Easy walk across Estero and you are at Outriggers, one of the best beach bars on the island. You can't believe the awesome privacy at the pool and spa overlooking the canal. This place really feels like you are at home...we will be back

The house is super clean, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. The property is private and located on a quiet street, yet easily within walking distance of the beach. Relax at the house and enjoy eating outside, swimming in the pool, and sitting on the dock under the evening stars. Or, walk to the beach and be entertained by the dolphins and diving pelicans. If you want to explore more of the beach, there are bikes at the house and the trolley stop is just a short walk away, and will take you anywhere on the island. If you want more adventure , try parasailing or rent a boat at the marina and cruise the back bay and gulf. We did all this without ever getting in our car. During our stay, if we had any concerns, the home owner was always accessible and very accommodating.
