Love Fort Myers Beach!!
Left on 03/20/2014 for a stay in March 2014 | Wisconsin family with kids and grandkids
This is our third rental on Fort Myers Beach. Although this property was larger than ones rented in the past, it was quite expensive. Dealing with Lahaina was easy and for the most part electronic (which is nice when you don't have a lot of free time).
Nice touch from owner leaving snacks and beverages to welcome us. He also stopped by to see if there was anything we needed (we needed a beach umbrella). Maintenance was there within a few hours to let us know that an umbrella would be there the next day - and it was! :).
Storage area beneath unit was quite messy and unorganized. Of course we didn't spend much time there, but it was unsightly.
There was a great stock of towels (including beach towels)! It is appreciated when cleaning staff leaves laundry and dish soap supplies, wish there had been waxed paper, foil and wrap but that was a minor inconvenience.
Awesome to be able to walk right onto the beach when everyone has different schedules and preferences - no driving, no parking. We though we would miss pool and spa at previous rental but we didn't.
We called Lahaina because the wind blew out a couple screens, but we never heard back from them and no one came to fix them.
Weather was perfect, beautiful sunshine every day. Lots of shelling and tanning!
We have a grandson with allergies so we were happy to find a no pet policy property (although we understand the desire to be able to bring pets as well).

My husband, daughters, husbands and 4 grandchildren (ages 1 3 4 5 ) ten in all had the Christmas week of a lifetime. We loved all the sunny space and sunsets to die for. The house had loungers, floats sand toys. We expect to be back here for another visit. The upstairs bedroom was gorgeous. The coffee pot was another big hit. We all can't stop talking about this house. Ten of ten.
Great Rental Property for a large family

Great rental property on a beautiful white sand beach with palm trees swaying in the breezes. Just steps to the water. I had 7 Grandchildren come to town and decided to rent a beach house for the week so we call all be there together. This place was perfect for our large group. There was plenty of room in the living room for us all to hang out late at night and 4 Bathrooms to accommodate our personal needs. A large wrap around deck outside partially covered and screened where we all spent much of our time playing games and watching beautiful sunsets. I'd recommend this to anyone that needs to accommodate 10 people in a dynamite location.

I wasn't expecting such a huge place with a master bedroom to die for. Huge bed facing the Gulf, vast vista on a pristine beach. Went running and swimming every morning, then up on the vast teakwood
deck, which is appointed with a shower hose.
Slip in for breakfast (or lunch) and a nap.
An unusual plus, good dining is just 5 minutes on foot, so you get the real vacation feel.
At night we could either dine out or cook at home, catch a film on one of the wide-screen TVs, or just hang, listening to the waves lap the shore.
I think that was a shooting star storm off to the west.
One (serious) regret: Didn't stay there long enough.
Having been to many beach bungalows on many coasts, this is definitely one of my favorites.
I'd recommended it to anyone who likes sea, sand, sun and...(XX) whatever you like.
One tiny remark: a fresh paintjob in a few places--expecially exterior-- wouldn't hurt, and changing a few of the ammenities: shower heads, waste baskets in the bathrooms, would be a plus. But I'm just being picky.

Great location on the beach. Nice house on the inside, but the outside needs alot of cleaning up and fixing up. We loved the house itself and the view was awesome!!! The back slider door is very hard to open and close. Needed some upkeep, but ok. Read more
Response from Lahaina Island Accommodations - 09/28/2013
Thank you very much for staying at White Sand Cottage. We value our guest’s comments so we truly appreciate that you took the time to give us your input. The owner just recently purchased this home and is making great progress in updating it into a premier vacation rental so if you liked it before you will love it the next time! Here are just some of the things that have been done recently: The wheels and tracks on the sliding glass doors have been refurbished so you can now open and close the doors with one finger! The decks have been refinished and exterior painting has been done. There is a new living room sofa and chair and a new king bed to replace one of the queen beds. Please take a moment to look at the photos on our website. We invite you to make plans to return to enjoy the upgrades at White Sand Cottage. We hope to see you soon!
