Sea Oats #705 offers a very comfortable stay with a gorgeous view. The location is excellent - close to downtown Fort Walton and only a short drive from Destin. The public areas of the condo complex were attractive, clean, and well-maintained. The condo itself was clean, nicely decorated, completely furnished and stocked with towels and kitchen implements, and comfortable. The check-in and check-out processes are simple, and the management staff are helpful. I would book this condo again, without hesitation.

The unit is on the top floor, with a great view of the beach, a nice pool, and an easy walk to the beach. Checking in was easy - we got an email about a week prior to our stay, with the code to the keyless door lock.
However, things went downhill from there... The unit had been cleaned, but not recently. It needed a "refresher" before we arrived. There was dirt on the bathroom floor, the (fake) plants were covered in dust, and the bedspread obviously needed to be washed.
What really was frustrating was that we really couldn't enjoy the beach, for two reasons. First, the balcony was covered in bits of foam and other debris when we arrived (see photo). I cleaned it, but the next day, it was covered again. So, we couldn't sit out on the balcony and enjoy being outside.
Second, we had brought our own beach equipment. Early the second day, I went down and set it all up on the beach, then went back up to the room. When we returned, it had been moved by the "beach attendants"! They said they had a contract that gave them the right to set up their beach chairs and umbrellas, and that we were relegated to a small "gap" between their equipment, or we could set up behind their row of chairs.
So, we either had to spend our time looking at the backs of everyone else, jockey with others that had brought their own equipment for the little bit of space they left in the "gap" (see photo), or pay them (dearly) to use their umbrella and chairs! We effectively were prevented from using the beach because of this - and for this reason, we will not return to this location (nor recommend it).
Finally, we were not warned that there would be roof repairs occurring during our stay. So, we had to listen to workers above us pounding away on the roof.
Overall, we were very disappointed. We tried to talk with both the condo association and the rental company, and neither seemed to be able to do anything for us. ("We're sorry, fbut there is nothing we can do.")

The roof work that inconvenienced you was being done by the HOA and they were scheduled to observe quiet hours in order not to disturb the Guest. The beach attendants are unfortunately out of our control as they are private entities that are granted sections of the beach for their service. We strongly suggest to our Guest that all housekeeping issues be reported upon the day of arrival so that we can rectify the problem and it was never noted that a call was received from you requesting housekeeping during your stay. Sea Oats 705 was the perfect setting for celebrating our birthday together. The unit was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. The unit was within steps of the elevator.
Sea Oats is within walking distance to many restaurants in the area, also. It was a great stay. -

Absolutely wonderful time...the condo had everything we needed, and great view. The beds are comfortable, and close to the boardwalk, fishing pier, and suvinor shops, and great places to eat. Nothing better than being on the beach, morning walks, evening crabbing, and playin on the beach. Check-in & check-out was so easy with this condo...& southern resorts even called to check on us a couple times...We will be going back.
