TNPerfect Family Vacation!

We took our six- and three-year-old to Ft. Walton for vacation, and stayed at azure 420. It was perfect!
The condo was very clean, and larger than we needed. We've stayed in places before where I had to worry about it being "kid-friendly" but I had no worries at azure. The railings on the balconies are nice and tall. The furniture is sturdy and comfortable.
Some things you'll need to know about this condo in particular:
If you're bringing a toddler/very young child, you might want to bring along a portable bedrail if they'll be sleeping in either of the guest rooms. We made do with using pillows as bolsters for our three-year-old on the bottom bunk, but a bedrail would've been easier.
When we stayed, the coffee maker used cone filters, not basket ones.
There are extra towels and toilet paper in the bathrooms under the sinks, but there's a Publix right across the bridge.
We loved the location. There are two pools and a big play-in fountain for the kids. You walk past the pools to get to the beach. We were prepared to pay $20/day for an umbrella and chairs but were very surprised to learn this fee was covered in our cost for staying at azure 420. Saved us $100!
The beach is, of course, gorgeous.
There are several restaurants nearby that are great, too. Old Bay Steamer is great, but doesn't do take-out, and you're almost guaranteed a wait for dinner. It's easy walking distance for older kids, but we drove. There's a small place called Helenback that's close by as well, and they had amazing pizza! The rest of the menu wasn't great, but the pizza was awesome.
Of course, it's a quick & easy drive to the Gulfarium/boardwalk, and various shops. And Destin is a short drive away as well.
It really was the perfect vacation. A relative had recommended a different condo in azure but I'm so glad we chose 420 instead. This one was much cheaper, and it was clean, large, and so comfortable. A perfect place for a perfect family vacation!
We'll be coming back for sure!

Our stay was great! The unit we had was very spacious, the mirrors added the impression that you had twice the room. Even if we needed to us the sleeper sofa there would have been plenty of room. Would benefit to have three bathrooms, as did the other two units that our family rented, since our's slept the most people. Pools and hot tubs were great! The grills were kinda out of the way and would have been nice to have several more, we had to wait our turn. Elevators are way too slow for the volume of people you accommodate and seriously need ventilation!!! Really surprised you don't have an issue with passing out on them it is so hot.
Least enjoyable was the wait for the elevators and the temperature inside them. Best thing was having the use of umbrellas and chairs on he beach. Those guys work so so hard every morning and evening!!!
Entrance is gorgeous,love the cobblestone look.Enjoyed checking in without having to 'check-in'. Great to have key code in hand a go directly to our unit!!
Only other comment would be concerning the cleanliness of our unit. Baseboards were very dirty and vacuuming could use a little furniture movement!Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 08/04/2012

It sounds like the entire family had plenty of room to move around and enjoy the space that was offered at Azure! I am sure that the elevators posed a bit of an inconvenience for you, unfortunately Southern does not maintain the elevators, but we have reported this to the Home Owner's Association. Thank you for bringing to our attention the cleanliness and items that we could show more attention to. This has been addressed but I would like to let you know for your future stays, that we are happy to address any cleaning issues immediately after they are reported. I apologize the baseboards were overlooked but we will be sure for this not to happen again!

We had a three bedroom unit fora 3 nights. The unit is so spacious. Everyone could be together without getting in each,s way. The large balcony with a gulf view was a great morning coffee and afternoon happy hour location. The swimming pools and hot tubs are the perfect temp and very clean. The pool deck to large and the ease of access to the beach was great. Covered parking was a plus. The azure is perfectly located to get to all the fun things to do. It's location separates the resort from the street noise of Santa Rosa Blvd. All in all it is a great place and we will use it again. Just remember to bring your own paper products!

Great location, lovely grounds with well-maintained pools and easy access to beach.
However, be prepared..there is no air or even a fan blowing in the elevators. Another minus would be no access to any type of small business center with computer and printer. -

I only had and issue with not receiving Keyed access code to door prior to arriving. I also had to call and receive the access code to park in the garage.

This was a beautiful unit with a great view even though it didn't vace the beach directly. The unit was very clean with lots of room for my family. Would definantly stay at this location on my next trip to the Destin/Fort Walton area.

My family greatly enjoyed the Azure! It was a beautiful property with great service. The room was gorgeous, very clean. The amenities were perfect and the beach was so fun!
